Ok my dogs dog groomer is so sweet, she took good care of rocky and sammy. I didn't know they had fleas on them you can't really see them on Sammy because his hair is long and rocky is dark. My dogs groomer her name is Camryn. My dogs went through 3 groomers. It's really hard to find good ones. Sammy in on medicine internal for his rash, hope he will heal with the good haircut and bath. It's expensive to have dogs but she did a good job. They are both napping now. read more

I have been bringing my two dogs Charlie and Bandit here a regular shampoo and bath for around a year now. Charlie is three years old and Bandit is just over one year old and these two 90 pounders act like puppies! They are playful and boisterous and can be a handful! We've been taking our 100lbs Husky malamute shepherd mix Kodi to these guys for years. Corey and her staff are amazing. They are loving gentle and get our pure white dog squeaky clean and smelling great! Our Kodi is actually injured and waiting for ACL surgery and we wanted him clean before his surgery. We love this pet salon! The staff are friendly and communicative. They take my requests into account as to how I want my dog's cut to look. The first time we went he had a cologne sprayed on him but since then we just ask to skip that step. They are always ready for my dog at our appointment time and I get a text about two hours later to come pick him up. The salon is spacious and clean. Just started taking my dog here and really appreciate the service and treatment of my dog here. They are great about scheduling and my dog is usually in and out in about a hour when I take him in. They treat him so well and he comes out looking like a million bucks! Pricing is super reasonable. I've never had an issue with parking in the area so that is a plus. read more

Amazing experience!! My pup Kane is a little shy/timid and Lisanna was so good with him. Very patient and introduced herself to him before she got started! She was quick and even sent update photos/texts which was amazing!! Made me feel better about the entire process. I knew he was in safe hands. Kane also has allergies and she was so helpful! Gave him medicated shampoo and calming itch relief spray! Kane hasn't itched since, has been able to finally relax and get good sleep. Definitely recommend and definitely taking my pup back!! I cannot speak highly enough about the amazing services provided by Village Pet Salon. We have been taking our Pomeranians about every three months for a groom, then about every three weeks in-between for a "sanitary." Paige, the talented groomer who has worked with our dogs since we moved to La Mesa about a year-and-a-half ago, is simply THE BEST we have ever found. I don't know how to say this delicately, but one of our dogs (Gigi) is about the best-behaved dog in the world ... and, well, Kali makes up for it (on the opposite end of the spectrum). Regardless, Paige works patiently and, miraculously, manages to get her looking great each and every time. Seriously, I cannot recommend Village Pet Salon highly enough!! I have a senior dog and this was his first professional service. My other dog had passed away and I thought why not do a spa day for him. My perfectly sweet and normal dog came home from her grooming appointment with not only the wrong haircut (poodle cut when I asked for a full shave due to some matting)...but gun-shy, growling (she's 6 years old and she's never growled ONCE until after this appt), and peeing/diarrhea all over the house, plus shaking the rest of the day. It's taken her 3 days to begin acting somewhat normal. I called to kindly speak with the manager, and let them know the condition of my dog. I was met with a complete lack of concern for my dog- he didn't care at all about how she was acting after the appt. While on the phone with the owner discussing the haircut...there were yelling employees in the back, about me/my dog WOW- absolutely embarrassing for a business to conduct itself like that... The owner (whom I've never met, and who has never even so much as seen my dog) insinuated that I neglect/traumatize my dog, and that her "reaction" to the appoitment was normal. He told me that his salon is best in San Diego so it's "not possible that I received anything but the best." They offered to re do her haircut and finish shaving her, but I honestly don't feel comfortable bringing her back in. Especially after being belittled on the phone by a grown man and having the female groomer(s) in the background yelling about it all. In my entire life of getting my dogs groomed, nobody has ever left a single one of them acting like this, (matted or not), nor have I ever been treated like this by a dog grooming company of all places. read more

My dog experienced razor burn which led to a severe red and irritated rash. The owner, Ben, did not take responsibility and tried blaming the dog that it was his fault for licking it. Not many groomers take walk-ins. But here is an exceptionally excellent exception! Today I took two dogs, ( a small poodle and my scruffy terrier) to see if their nails could be trimmed. After a short wait, the poodle's paws were cleaned up, and they offered to trim my terrier as well. I am always greeted with warmth. The dogs are happy to be here. They have groomed all of my dogs from my disabled, elderly dog to my puppies. Every time they leave the salon; their tails are wagging. I've been here twice out of convenience and I shouldn't have even come the second time. My dog was groomed there was he was YOUNG, maybe 4-5 months old. I came in prior to the appointment and told them about my concerns, they reassured me that this is something they deal with all the time and they would work with him because obviously he's a puppy, and it was his first time. When i came to pick him up they kept calling him "BAD" and talking about how terribly he did. Even though I let them know this was his first groom. The groomer who's name I don't know, was going in on my dog. So much that another groomer stepped in with advice to ease the situation. I came back another time months later to just get his nails clipped, and that same groomer said "I remember you, you were so bad last time".... In my head I was like ok lady... I let it slide because I wasn't there to deal with her anyway. Fast forward to today, he's 1 year old now and I bring him in for a bath, once again, out of convenience. I have been going to another groomer in east village that is phenomenal. One groomer offers to clean up his face, or do a partial groom while he was there, and I was hesitant, but clearly I never learn my lesson and I said sure. I warn them, he doesn't like the kennel so call me before he even gets there and they say no worries it'll be fine. I'm feeling confident about this time. But Of course, I go to pick him up and he's barking, as expected. I walk in and they're like omg he was so bad! The receptionist said, "he did so bad today" while laughing. So I ask the receptionist, why are you guys calling him "bad"? Is he biting you? Or just doesn't love being groomed, as I'm sure other dogs feel the same way. Of course she gets a little nervous and says oh it's because of his temperament. Well say that. And I asked if he's the only dog they've ever had that barked? AS ANOTHER DOG IS BARKING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM! He's a dog and I recognize that, but I'm leaving him in your care and I want to feel comfortable and confident in the way he'll be treated, but I don't feel that way. He's not a bad dog. I'll NEVER under any circumstance bring him back here. read more

Ever since the Original owner sold this shop it has gone down hill. I used to fill confident my furbabies were in "good hands". I have officially stopped using this groomers forever. They have ZERO COMPASSION they take ZERO accountability on any of the concerns regarding the grooming on your pet but yet quick to make excuses for their errors. The ladies communicate well on what types of service that they provide. Everytime I'm dropping off or picking up the environment is clean and the patrons are Happy!
