Lemon Artichoke Chicken w/ a side of broccoli

The only option for restaurant eats after 8p during Coronavirus closures... so we went! Came in with a Party of 10 and they sat us right away... it was absolutely frigid in there when we first arrived so we asked our server to ease up on the AC and they did. There was a selection of pies in the front but also they offer a huge menu of typical American diner options with one great perk: breakfast served all day. we got 3 burgers, 2 kids meals, 3 breakfasts, 1 biscuits & gravy and mine: a chicken artichoke dish that was actually pretty darn tasty for a diner! Al the burgers were overcooked but the rest of the meals were okay. They had coloring kits for the kids and servers wore masks. The food didn't take too long but it was immediately pretty cold when it arrived due to the air around it. One in our party ordered a cup of soup that was sent back because it was so cold... I get that it's probably warm outside during the peak of the day, but keep an eye on it as night turns because then you're just cooling hot food off. Grateful for the option so late at night during the pandemic... but there are some areas to improve.

This felt like another Denny's. Similar food, prepared the same way. You do get a lot of food for the money. Staff.was.very nice.

I don't get it…read more Douglas Club, located on the local golf course, must be one of those hit or miss places. I think my visit was during the "miss". First, the employees are great. Nice, but somewhat scattered. Maybe it's because it was late in the day and they'd been working the entire day, but I don't think they were all-there. The food was also hit or miss. The salad was outstanding. The steak, although cooked as I asked, was a day shy of being "bad", and I don't mean aged -- or rather it was not aged in a positive way. It was really bad. As long as I ate around the edges, it was tolerable, but I left most of it behind. It's a shame, really, because all the other guests seem to be enjoying their meals, but again, maybe because I came at the end of a shift and the kitchen staff had just given up. I might try again one day, but then again, maybe not. It was just that underwhelming.

Renee recommended the grilled salmon wrap with sweet potato fries (no sugar), which 4 of us had and absolutely loved. The gluten free tortilla wraps were some of the best gluten free substitutes we've had. The hot honey chicken sandwich also received high marks, and the homemade chips are worth an honorable mention. Keep up the great work, Douglas Club.

The three-quarter pound burgers were giant and truly delicious as were their onion rings... Crispy and greasy - just the way I like them. Nice selection of local WY beers. We tried two of them. The place is dimly lit and not much to write home about, but that's what we expect from a dive: we loved it! If you are pretentious &/or woke, go away: this is NOT YOUR place. This is a down-home, locals hangout with the coolest local patrons and an hysterical bartender (she was awesome). In fact the day that we came, she was talking about a TikTok warning that the US was going to be bombed by Iran and the locals sitting at the bar were giving her a hella hard time about it - we sort of joined the comedy show as "table number six" (which is how the bartender referred to us throughout our visit) as we laughed along with them, giving this good natured bartender a hard time about the TikTok news; bantering back and forth about how much time we have left before Lusk was bombed . We left in a really good mood and we can't wait to go back - presuming the building is still standing (after we left to get out of Dodge before the 5 1/2 hour timeline before the bomb dropped. LMAO)! Definitely gonna be one of our stops every time we're in Lusk! 5-star dive bar experience!

But clearly, without being anchored in the Hilton, this place would probably be out of business. I really liked the waitress/bartender, but it was clear how exacerbated she was with conditions. I looked at the menu first online and when I arrived, she apologized and said those were out of date. Fine. One diner and one at the bar, I sat at a table. The chair I sat in was really wobbly, so I switched to another as I didn't feel safe given my 6'3" frame. Not much better. So I moved over to the table with a bench. The bench didn't have any functional cushioning, but at least it was stable. When she delivered my beverage, I explained why I moved and she apologized as she knew and that they have been waiting for "their remodel." Later, I heard the waitress apologize to a couple because they didn't have any salt, but they did have pepper! They were taking the food back to their room, so she offered some ideas of where they could find salt. The chicken Cobb salad on Google had a real fried chicken breast, but what they are actually serving is a sliced giant chicken nugget product. They rest was great (salad not wilted or slimy, good toppings) and I liked the blue cheese dressing. So, 3 stars on the overall experience.
