I am asthmatic, so we did the best we could finding spots in the back. Our waitress asked what we'd like to drink I asked what they have on tap. "Coke, Dr. pepper, Sprite." Their food was quite reasonable but the chicken fried steak was thin as a pancake and so overcooked that I could barely cut it. On the other hand, their mash potatoes and cream gravy was top notch. Overall I'll just chalk this up to catching them on a bad night.

The restaurant is casual and located on the community golf course. There was ample parking for our 26' RV, even with the Saturday night golf crowd there! The menu offers a wide variety of appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. We chose the special coconut shrimp with house made berry sauce and the chicken fried steak. Both dinners came with a trip to the salad bar, a serving of vegetables (fresh green beans) and aside dish (we chose baked potatoes and mashed potatoes.) The salad bar had above selection of super fresh mixed lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, beets, grated cheese, potato salad, cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, bacon bits and croutons. There were at least 8 different salad dressings too! All the food was well prepared and the chicken fried steak was breaded in-house and mashed potatoes were real (not instant!) We enjoyed the fresh iced tea and sweet tea although the restaurant had a full bar available too. The servers worked as a team and always kept our drinks replenished. The entire staff was helpful and friendly which made our experience really nice!

Stay away from this place unless you want food that has been on the floor and other peoples plates. The owner is a slick a$$hole who tries to make fun of you in spanish especially if you are white, bunch of american hating pricks, the food sucks, the service sucks even worse and it is expensive. Basically this place is ran by high school kids and non english speaking morons who could give a sh!t less if you like their crap food or not. Her manager came up and quickly said she will give me a 20% discount on my meal. I did not hear from anyone after that for another 30 min until I stood up. Put my coat on and was about to just leave. The bartender finally came back and handed me my check. In which my meal after tip (yes I still tipped 20%) was $40. So that being said I paid $40 for a small saucer of veggies because I didn't even eat the steak. Unfortunately from what people all over the Douglas area says is that the Derby has probably the worst steak in Town, I can understand the one off meal but the service is by far sub par and management should consider teaching their bartenders/servers that excellent service get customers to come back.
