Let's start with the main draw... open 24 hours, in a place where us 8pm dinner hour people find it…read morehard difficult to locate dining without eating far too early for our usual schedule. It came up FAST and HOT. it must have weighed 5lbs. I can express how happy I am that we opted to split a meal, as we still had leftovers. The shredded beef burritos were tender & juicy, in need of some hot sauce but that's personal preference. The tortilla was good - the beans, meh - but a bite with the burrito paired well enough. I didn't eat the rice so I can't say there. It looked like an acceptable version. Given the price, it was far better than I expected. Skip the guac, seriously, skip it.

It came loaded with crispy shredded pork, lettuce, Pico, beans and rice. Four containers, 2 each of sauce salsas Roja and Verde. There was so much food it made 2 whole meals. The tortillas were probably 12" wide. I spend a lot of time down south in Arizona and I am used to seeing Carnitas being prepared in a cubed state, so the pulled pork was a surprise. I would go again. It didn't blow my socks off, but service was fast and friendly and the food was pretty good.

For starts: I sat at the bar where the waitress took a significant amount of time before acknowledging I was there even tho the eye contact was made. But 10 min after sitting at the bar she finally asked me what I would like to drink. She then offered a menu in which I ordered the "Peppercorn Ribeye prepared Medium rare and a side of veggies". And she gave me my Water. 20 minutes go by with an empty glass and no food has arrived. I don't know if it was because I wasn't drinking a alcoholic beverage but her service was terrible please note, there was 2 other people at the bar which were clearly regulars as their conversations took majority of her attention and time. When I received my meal the steak was very poorly cooked and what I mean by that is the steak was well done and equivalent to a 12oz piece of gristle. I brought it up to the bar tender that the meal was not good at all. I did however eat the veggies which was the best part of the meal. Her manager came up and quickly said she will give me a 20% discount on my meal. I did not hear from anyone after that for another 30 min until I stood up. Put my coat on and was about to just leave. The bartender finally came back and handed me my check. In which my meal after tip (yes I still tipped 20%) was $40. So that being said I paid $40 for a small saucer of veggies because I didn't even eat the steak. Unfortunately from what people all over the Douglas area says is that the Derby has probably the worst steak in Town, I can understand the one off meal but the service is by far sub par and management should consider teaching their bartenders/servers that excellent service get customers to come back.

If you're a fan of food that tastes like it's practicing social distancing from seasoning, congratulations--you've found your soulmate. We walked in and were told to seat ourselves, which felt a little like being released into a corn maze. The restaurant is chopped into secret rooms you can't see from the entrance, so after poking my head around like a confused meerkat, we gave up and parked ourselves by the front door. It was busy, though I suspect that's due to long-standing loyalty and not a sudden outbreak of taste buds. The waiter greeted us with, "Do you need menus?" No sir, we brought our own crystal ball. Yes, we need menus--we've never been here. The options included tacos, burritos, tostadas, and--mysteriously--a deep-fried hotdog, which felt like it wandered in from a county fair and refused to leave. We ordered the pork chili smothered burritos. When mine arrived, I finished it in under eight bites--new personal record. For $6 I expected a burrito, not a participation trophy. They've clearly built a devoted following of people who enjoy food on mute, so they probably won't notice us slipping away. We wish them well--and if you enjoy culinary adventures in the land of bland, this might be your happy place.

To me, the Horchata was super sweet, but it was a good counterpoint to the fries. But oh my gosh, these fries...... Thin crispy fries, piled on the plate with guacamole, pico, cheese, Carnitas (you have a choice of meats), and sour cream drizzled on top. They also brought three varieties of hot sauce, which I tasted (all good), but did not actually put on my fries (didn't feel like it needed it). The Carnitas was delicious and tender, the fries were perfect, and there were generous helpings of guacamole, pico and cheese distributed pretty evenly over it all. This thing was huge. Enough for two people. But did I eat it all by myself? Yes, I did. Almost all of it. I didn't want any of it to go to waste! Service was fast and friendly, the whole place, including the bathroom, was clean and I would definitely stop there again if in the area.

First, after looking at my receipt (in my email afterwards since I was only shown a total on the screen when paying at the table) I saw that all 3 of our food items rang up higher than the listed prices in the menu. I hate it when this stuff happens. Just seems shady. The next, is that I ordered the garden burrito that the manager said was the best vegetarian option. The menu literally starts describing it as "no meat" but afterwards I felt sick to my stomach all day. I looked through the Yelp reviews and someone else said the refried beans have lard in them (pork product). I wanted to fact check so called the restaurant and sure enough there's *bleeping* lard in the refried beans!! Ugh I'm so upset!!
