The service was great the ladies working all helped each other so we weren't waiting for anything. I love the ambiance of the restaurant - cozy and comfortable not too crowded The food was good. This wasn't our first time here. I typically find one thing I love and stick with it. I haven't found that yet so I just keep trying the menu. Will definitely keep trying different options.

Front entrance, well lit outside tables available. Inside very unique decor.

Tucked in an off-the-hwy almost an alley location, was a delightful surprise on our Friday night, a very busy place, almost a full house, yet quiet atmosphere. Waitresses very busy, but attentive to our needs. Ordered a Ribeye steak with 2 side salads to share for 2. Food came in a very reasonable time. Steak was cooked as ordered- medium well. Enjoyed our meal & would definitely stop again when in area.

I want to start off by saying that the service was fantastic. We were seated pretty quickly for the number of customers waiting for a table. Daniel was our server and was very efficient and friendly. We really wanted to like this place more. Cute building that I am assuming used to be an actual train depot. Our issue was the food wasn't that great. We would possibly try this again the next time in Douglas but just order something different. Just a few suggestions... Less dressing on the Southwest salad. The flavor was good but the amount of dressing made the lettuce soggy. Less maple syrup on the sweet potato fries. They were good but too sticky and drippy. Instead of a frozen beef patty for the burgers, use fresh ground beef. Definitely lots of potential here. My iced tea with peach schnapps was excellent!

Hold on! This train is gonna wreck!

I first saw some reviews and pics of the Trainwreck Burger and then some coworkers told me I had to try it so I did. Let me tell you, if you're hungry..... no, make that hangry, you need to go to the Depot in Douglas and order yourself The Trainwreck! It's a half pound hand made patty with your choice of 2 cheeses (I picked pepper jack and gouda), bacon, grilled & raw onions, lettuce, tomato, bbq says and mayo.... pretty sure I'm forgetting something... but who cares. They'll make it any way you like it. I suggest you get the maple glazed sweet potato fries. I did and I ain't even mad about it. They were just as good as the burger. And since I was legit hangry, I also got fresh homemade peach cobbler. Mmmm, mmm! This place has got some good food y'all!

Everything needs to be put into perspective. Considering that this is a smaller restaurant in the quaint town of Douglas, it is pretty good. The Reuben I got was decent and moderately priced. The service was great! If you find yourself in Douglas and looking for a decent tasting and decently priced meal, I would recommend The Depot.

We came here for lunch after going to the Railroad Museum and the Pioneer Museum. A local gal recommended it to us. I am so glad she did. I had the Guacamole Burger and my husband had the Mushroom Burger. They were delicious! The fries were really great too. Seasoned to perfection.

They have white claw :) the fried fish was good too!

The depot was the first restaurant we ate at in our time up in Douglas. It's cool because it seems to be in an old train depot, and they have a nice outdoor patio out back! Our server was excellent although very busy and it took awhile to get helped but that didn't bother us. We just drank and enjoyed the nice day. My mom really didn't like her sandwich hence the reason for the 4 instead of my usual 5 I give, but my food was decent. I'd go back if I'm ever in town again for sure :)

A pleasant surprise on the great Wyoming prairie; recommended by a local resident. Conveniently located near the World's Largest -- and Former World's Largest -- Jackalopes, The Depot offers a surprisingly varied menu with good local beers on draft (try the Speed Goat golden ale) and Wyoming Whiskey. For something different from the burgers and salads we usually order, we tried a flatbread chicken margharita and side of maple glazed sweet potato fries. Mmmmm. Flatbread Chicken Pesto Margharita. (It was tough choosing that vs. grilled shrimp flatbread.) In fact, everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. We came for the jackalopes, we'll go back for The Depot.

So yummy! Service was a little lax bit the food was amazing. Would go again next time I'm in the area.

For starts: I sat at the bar where the waitress took a significant amount of time before acknowledging I was there even tho the eye contact was made. But 10 min after sitting at the bar she finally asked me what I would like to drink. She then offered a menu in which I ordered the "Peppercorn Ribeye prepared Medium rare and a side of veggies". And she gave me my Water. 20 minutes go by with an empty glass and no food has arrived. I don't know if it was because I wasn't drinking a alcoholic beverage but her service was terrible please note, there was 2 other people at the bar which were clearly regulars as their conversations took majority of her attention and time. When I received my meal the steak was very poorly cooked and what I mean by that is the steak was well done and equivalent to a 12oz piece of gristle. I brought it up to the bar tender that the meal was not good at all. I did however eat the veggies which was the best part of the meal. Her manager came up and quickly said she will give me a 20% discount on my meal. I did not hear from anyone after that for another 30 min until I stood up. Put my coat on and was about to just leave. The bartender finally came back and handed me my check. In which my meal after tip (yes I still tipped 20%) was $40. So that being said I paid $40 for a small saucer of veggies because I didn't even eat the steak. Unfortunately from what people all over the Douglas area says is that the Derby has probably the worst steak in Town, I can understand the one off meal but the service is by far sub par and management should consider teaching their bartenders/servers that excellent service get customers to come back.

Nice, but somewhat scattered. Maybe it's because it was late in the day and they'd been working the entire day, but I don't think they were all-there. The food was also hit or miss. The salad was outstanding. The steak, although cooked as I asked, was a day shy of being "bad", and I don't mean aged -- or rather it was not aged in a positive way. It was really bad. As long as I ate around the edges, it was tolerable, but I left most of it behind. It's a shame, really, because all the other guests seem to be enjoying their meals, but again, maybe because I came at the end of a shift and the kitchen staff had just given up. I might try again one day, but then again, maybe not. It was just that underwhelming.

Preface: I'm a very eccentric individual, and I enjoy simple things in life. My review will be…read morebased mostly on that fact alone. However, other notable details relate to the business side of things rather than pleasure. As a traveler, I have encountered many hotels of different style and experience. Lots that are uniform in pattern, lots that boast comfort but beds feel like Tiggers tail instead, most with the similar appeal of get in, get out. Today I've checked into the Hotel Labonte. I'm literally passing though here on my way home, so I dont need lavish things or experience. Prior to check in, I was overwhelmed by the typical motel/hotel options. Some that were too expensive for just a few hours of sleep, most I've decided to never do business with again, and some with OKAY reviews. What drew me to this hotel was the antiquated appeal. This place has history. I love history. With just a few reviews to go off of, I wasn't super sold. So I did some research on the hotel. Found some pictures. My interest; peaked. I decided to book. It's very quiet, maybe because it's still early, but I like that. The rooms are locked with actual keys, no key card that gets deactivated by your phone!! The overall appeal of the hotel is great, the cleanliness is impressive. But the selling point are the rooms. Each is different, I saw 3, my own included. The decor, the bedding, the layout, i find it very comforting. The rooms are VERY clean. I'm a clean freak and for once, I am not grossed out or picky about how the room was cleaned. The bathroom in my room is small. Basically like a guest bathroom, but with a tub. However, despite the size, I dont feel overwhelmed or claustrophobic. Because this place is so old, an initial concern of mine was water pressure. Nothing is more disappointing to me than longing for a hot shower and finding out the water is a sad trickle. To my shock, the water pressure is perfect! The best shower I've taken outside of my own at home. The rooms include: a TV, a microwave, a wardrobe, nightstand, and of course the bed. Now let's speak of the bed: definitely a surprise!!!! It's so soft and comfortable, I will have no issue falling asleep FAST. I've stayed in hotels with more popularity, and their beds do not compare. Ultimately, I am THRILLED with my stay. This hotel has a wonderful "homey" feel, and I LOVE it. To be completely honest, I am sad I'm not staying for more than a day. I would like to experience more so I can review but from what I have experienced, I cant help but rave about this place! 10/10, would HIGHLY recommend.
