We've ordered pizza from here a few times over the years and have been satisfied but not blown away. But this week, we really enjoyed our vegetarian pizza. Crispy bottom without being burned. Loaded with fresh vegetables and black olives (an ingredient that many places skimp on). Traditional veg without trying to get too fancy (E.g., olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions). Right ratio of sauce to ingredients. The online ordering system with the texting notification was great. They advertised their specials on the first page so you could apply the appropriate coupon code at checkout. Because we were ordering our pizza to go, it was helpful to get a text message when it was ready. read more

Last night, We brought our own bottle of wine and I asked if we could drink it there. The manager said no, we sell wine here. He did not offer a corkage fee and acted like I was taking up too much of his time. Later, when I suggested they all they offer a corkage fee, he said I could pay for a bottle of wine, $28. He must have been having a very bad day. Mainly, He made me feel like he could care less whether I was there or not. Everyone else was very pleasant, and the pizza was pretty good. read more

Pizza was slightly below average. Service non existent. Place was empty except our party and one other table, and it took 80 minutes from ordering pizza to receiving it. It was obvious they were prioritizing doordash orders over in person, which is incredibly frustrating as someone actually visiting their location with a large group. We won't be back and I highly recommend against this place if you're staying at seascape. read more

I was worried about eating here by reading some of the reviews but we are glad we tried it. Pizza had plenty of pepperoni, crust was crispy and not overly thick. Salad had lots of great veggies and was filled to the rim. I would eat here again but try their specialty pizzas. read more

Love the location and the atmosphere. I've tried the sandwiches, pizzas and salads. All of them were delicious. Not super happy about the $1 charge for a tiny side of ranch dressing but prices on things are crazy expensive everywhere it seems nowadays. read more

I don't know what the five star review people are smoking, but this place was terrible. We walked in and looked at a pizza on the table of some current customers, and I looked at my wife and she said this is gonna suck. We decided to give it a try anyway. She was right. I ordered a pizza with extra cheese and extra sauce. It came out burnt. I couldn't find any sauce there was barely any cheese. It was so salty. My tongue exploded after the first bite and we couldn't even finish a quarter of the pizza. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. Never going back. Beware. Caution. read more

I was camping at the Santa Cruz Monterey KOA the family and I were craving some pizza and I'm glad I found this place. We ordered two different kinds. They were delicious. They made them fresh beer was good. The only concern was the salad, but I think since Covid everybody's doing salad in containers I would go again. read more

Pretty good! I had low expectations because pizza in this county overall has been disappointing besides pizza my heart, mentone, east end gastro pub, and mountain Mike's (two of which are chains). We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the pizza and the sandwich was pretty good too! We came back again less than a week later. The pizza texture is on the crispier (thin but thick at the same time?) And crust gets big bubbles. I could see them popping the dough bubbles while waiting inside. We love Village Host! We come up to Aptos monthly and usually always get a pizza here with my in laws. Our favorite is the Triple P, but tonight we did a classic pepperoni and it was delicious. Service is relatively quick, and we like that we can do a gluten free option for my MIL when needed. We usually do takeout, but they do have plenty of tables/booths and some arcade games to keep people or kids busy. Pretty old school vibe in there which I like! read more

I usually get the combo, has always been good. Seems the cost of ingredients as well as everything else has caused prices to go up understandably. I ordered online and tipped $2.00 on a large pizza for pick up. The woman behind the counter literally tossed the pizza on the counter with distain as if I was taking the pizza out of her children's mouths. Aren't you getting $20/hr? Not enough to afford to live in this area but all you did was throw my pizza on the counter with a crap attitude. Look where that has gotten you. Staff was friendly. A couple downsides to this pizza place but over all was an okay experience. I "think" the pizza dough was homemade. Took a bit long to get it once seated or maybe we were just too hungry! lol * they don't sell chicken wings which is a muuuuust for any pizza place (imo) *pizza was presented well, I asked for side of ranch but unfortunately after eating and getting back to the resort we were staying at I got the worst stomach pain and was in and out of the bathroom all night. *cool little place though. The worker just walked buy to the bathroom. Didnt even have a towel to wipe the table. There is only 1 other guy in here having a beer and all the tables aredorty. . Floor to. Does this make me want to eat here, HELL NO! If the staff that are just hanging out eating can't wipe off the customers tables then what makes you think the kitchen is clean or sanitary. I have been going to Village House since I was about six years old and it first opened in Seascape. It used to be a tiny little section of the Seascape Village, but it has grown. Their pizza is my very favorite and all of the choices are amazing. I especially like chicken in a green dress. There is something about the pizza that is like no other. If you have never tried Village host you should definitely go there. It's a very special place. read more

Went in tonight with my family. Employees had crap attitudes. If you're that unhappy find a new job. One young female employee was pleasant and smiled and that's about it. Pizza was below average and the eyes rolling and shitty looks made me wonder how this place gets any customers at all. read more

Stopping on my way home from a quilt show, i found Village Host Pizza and Grill. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The small pizza was larger than I thought but my friend's husband was clearly pleased with the left overs! We had a great conversation with the owner/manager about rock and roll, movies and life in general. I will definitely return! read more

Seriously try this place and you will not be disappointed. We have noticed this place so many times driving by over the years and never quite stopped, it is ridiculous that it took a family friend recommending it to stop by. We ordered a large pizza 1/2 all meat with red sauce and 1/2 Artichokes, feta and Pineapple with a Pesto base to go. Kylie was the young lady who took our order, she was super patient and kind with me and made some suggestions on the non-meat side that made my taste buds celebrate! The non-meat side was ordered for me and this is one of the best pizzas I have EVER had and I don't saying that lightly since I love me some pizza! It has to be said that this establishment does not skimp on the toppings; my husband gave the meat half a double thumbs up and said he finally felt like he got what he paid for! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! BTW as of April 14, 2023 they offer free delivery, within their approved delivery area. read more

One of the best pizzas I've had, especially considering I was traveling. If you read the negative reviews, most are delivery issues, maybe don't be lazy and just get out of the house for 10 minutes and see what's going on in the world. Soap box moment over, pizza was perfectly cooked, crust was amazing, maybe a little heavy on the onions (we got a combination), but really good. read more

Fond memories of village host in my hometown of san carlos. I go often on mondays with my two sons to seacliff. After a rough day with my son, the coupon sent to me was for capitola, then i couldnt navigate the website to find their standard coupon. The clerk wasnt much help, she asked the manager, but i still couldn't find it. She assured me it was still active. They dont scan it, so i asked the mgr if he could honor it without seeing it. BBQ sauce reminded me of Sweet Baby Ray's, eerily so... but, I do like SBR. The sandwiches are sizeable and a bit sloppy. As it should be if you're doing a big bbq sandwich. I did the 'squealing pig' which was their spicy pulled pork sandwich. Nice kick, nothing too crazy. I'd say overall a solid spot, I had my eye on dessert but they were all sold out by the time we rolled through. Live blues 7 nights a week, solid set from the boys up there!

With those views girl, we've GOT to sit on the patio! Hubby and I split a few things, and all were delish! Starting with the sourdough bread with herbed butter, OH MY WORD! The bread was light and airy with a bit of a crunch, but not the type of crunch that makes it difficult to eat, it was amazing! The house salad, so good! We asked for dressing in the side, but it came on the salad - no biggie as it wasn't has heavily doused as most places do. Then we had the steak sandwich, super yum! The aioli was really flavorful. We enjoyed the restaurant and since we are here until Monday we will definitely visit again! Can't wait! PS all of the staff were friendly, from the hostess to our waitress (Marissa?), to the gentlemen bringing water and taking our plates. They were all excellent!
