If you want super thin crust this is the pizza . If you want sweet sauce this is not it . They have more of a salty butter sauce . Good quality sausage . Overall the pizza has flavor .tavern style read more

Im 61 yrs old, have been enjoying the pizza since grade school. 2 months ago, the pizza was a bit off...not sure what to blame it on...cheese, sauce, sausage, dough?? A week ago i ordered again. It was awful, like biting into a dry slice. Hardly any sauce at all...cheese on dough..sausage not bad so picked at the sausgae and deep sixed the rest. Something has changed and its not appetizing at all. Time to revert back to another childhood memory...salernos! Does anyone at villanova actually read and respond to any of their reviews? read more

The best pizza in the area hands down!!!! Definitely a major contender in all Chicago's Greatest Pizza Joints!!!! Service is great and pizza is always on point!!!!!!! Old school atmosphere that's always reliable!!!!!!! We Love Villa Nova!!!!!!! read more

Best tavern style pizza in Chicagoland. Thinny thin crust and savory sausage. I opt for canned mushrooms, green pepper and sausage. I know there are a ton of pizza places in Chicago, but take your butt to Stickney, IL and try this pizza. The dining room is basic, no frills, they've got a tv and its byob....but you're here for the pizza. Can't recommend enough. Its a must stop when I fly back in town. read more

Why do I have to pay 42.00 plus tip for a pizza that has sausage the size of small meatballs on a thin crust pizza that wasn't cooked enough but the green peppers on topped were cooked like they were dehydrated. No flavor because all you could taste was the sausage meatballs.I don't get it from one or two weeks to the next the pizza is so different. Its why I quit a few years ago.I gave it a try a couple weeks ago it was great.Guess I'll try again in a few years again and hope I get lucky. read more

0 star - no notice online that it is now carry-out only. No dine-in. Fine. Say so. 1 star - the famous & tasty Chicago pizza sausage was MIA. Dry. No Italian flavor. No fennel. Blah. 1 star - very little sauce. So little I could not judge the taste. 1 star - Pricey!! Wow! For this little place? 1 star - I wish I would have come pre-Covid when I first heard / read about the place. 3 stars ? - I assume the crust is good. Hard to know for sure with a carry-out pizza. Not their fault - it's carry-out. read more

Wow. The hype is real! Highlights - crust is crazy thin, sausage is thick and juicy, sauce is delicious, cheese is greasy. Pizza is 10/10! I live in the city and don't venture to the burbs too much. I ended up in Downers Grove and decided to try a new pizza joint for #nationalpizzaday before heading back to the city. Based on the reviews I got a family sized sausage pizza and HOLY COW it was amazing. I love a crispy thin crust and wasn't disappointed! I was a bit nervous bc with my drive and other errands I had to run I actually couldn't eat the pizza until about an hour later, so I thought the crust could get soggy. I was really impressed that it mostly was still really crispy! I'll be honest the pizza as a whole was a tad greasy for my liking, but I was very impressed that the crust held up so well. I highly recommend the sausage - it is SO incredibly thick and perfectly placed that every piece has 1-2 large sausage rolls on it. Don't be fooled by the size naming - a "family" is only 16" and it was a great size for 2 of us. Cost ~$22 which pretty standard for the area. Also don't get turned away by the initial appearance. Yes, it shares a building with an automotive shop, but they always say that the hole in the wall places are the best! Not sure when (if) I'll be in the area again but would definitely recommend if passing through or if you're close by! read more

This is a must eat when I'm in Chicago. Sausage, mushroom and extra cheese, well done.

Still the best pizza around. The cheese and sausage is some of the best I've had. Even after 5 years of ordering from them it's still solid.

First time we were there and it was an excellent pizza. The sausage was delicious and the crust baked to perfection. Will definitely be back there soon. Larry Mars read more

If I could give them no stars, I would. I hadn't eaten their pizza in years, decided to give them a go again. I ordered a medium (they don't have medium, only large) pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, garlic pizza. I arrived a little earlier then the time they said to pick up so I waited in my truck parked out side the restaurant. NOT ONE PERSON WAS WEARING A MASK. not the person taking orders, not the person taking your money, not even the cooks making your food. There was a man who seemed like they was running things that had on a mask on and then off... I waiting in my car for 15 min. Honestly, it took so much from me to not call and cancel my order. I recognize the stress that restaurants are under right now. I am lucky enough to be able to afford eating out. I paid for my food. these covid regulations that they list as being followed are FALSE. I could give them a break but I see what this virus does. It's hard not to take it personal when I deal with covid almost daily. I rewarmed my pizza in a toasty 500 degrees. The sausage was a bit too big but other than that the pizza was really good. And that sucks because I will never come back. read more

When I was a kid, I was spoiled and not for reasons you may think. While other kids were stuffing their face with Ball Park Franks, Tombstone Pizza and Jiffy Pop, I was honing my taste buds on Villa Nova Pizza. A large Cheese & Sausage was an impromptu Saturday night surprise. The paper carry-out bag was puffy with hot steam and classically stained from Italian Sausage grease. Always Cheese & Sausage, and always carry-out; never knew another option. As a little shit, I quickly learned it was all about 'Cracker Crust' and some tasty Sausage to mingle with the Mozzarella. That's the South Side in me. Yep, I grew up with a 'Tavern Style' education. read more

Villa Nova Stickney - Tavern Style. Screaming 'Hot' from the Oven. - Pizza Near Me - Stickney, Illinois

Friday evening, as always, Villa Nova hit the nail on the head with their great pizza! They offer it normally with a very thin crust or you can order it with double dough so that the crust is more common as with the other vendors in the area. Their sausage is noticeably larger than most giving you more to juicy meat to chew. They offer mushrooms from the can or freshly cut. This is a nice option that makes the pizza taste better than the canned mushrooms most competitors offer. Their red sauce is very tasty too. The staff is friendly and the delivery driver normally gets the pie to your door in under an hour. read more

COVID-19 no fear! They require masks to go in but the only person wearing a mask was the cashier inside. Must have been 8 people behind the plexiglass not wearing a mask and talking/yelling behind there. I understand some people think this is fake, but for most of us it's real. I wouldn't go back now knowing this. Pizza also wasn't as great as times before. Maybe it's because they weren't wearing masks during a pandemic and a total turn off. Get with the programs guys. Wow... read more

I love this pizza. It's not for everyone. If you are from Chicago you know you can have 20 different types of pizza and this is one. When I have a taste for thin and crispy this satisfies my craving. For us one pizza isn't enough cuz it's so tasty you just keep eating it! read more

I first learned of this classic Pizzeria from the Hungry Hound's Pizza City USA book. I also have a Instagram friend that swears this is his favorite thin crust pizza in all of Chicago. It's definitely up there with my top five. I probably would have had them cook it extra crispy, had I not taking 5/8 of it home. I now have a new destination for a spot to eat when I make a drop off at Midway Airport. I hear this is often the first place people come to, once they arrive at Midway. read more

My new favorite pizza place. Chicken pizza is delicious and so is the sausage. The delivery usually takes an hour so pick it up.

I highly recommend Villa Nova. The only problem is their hours. They don't open until after 4pm most days. The pizza is a solid 5 but the business is a 4 due to their lack of lunch availability. read more

Of course this was a long time bookmark. It actually wasn't that far from me either. I ordered a small sausage/mushroom extra sauce well done. Quoted 30mins, it took about 40-45. The pizza was fresh & hot. It was just ok. I didn't see anything to rave about honestly. Customer service was just ok as well. I wouldn't go back even if I was in the area. I'd eat it if someone had it free. Lol read more

Top notch thin crust. Maybe the best thin I have had all my life. The place is busy so call ahead. Nice location.

What better to do during quarantine than a road trip to try another classic Chicago thin crust? Let's get right to it. Pros : thin crust, sauce, toppings were all fresh and flavorful. Cons: pizza shape may not be consistent, but didn't bother me, crust doesn't hold up as well if you go over two toppings if one of those were a meat topping. Overall I doubt you will be disappointed in trying this place if you enjoy a good tavern style thin crust. Enjoy! read more

I went there after work. Definitely tavern style. I loved my pizza. Those balls of sausage are so good. I enjoyed it. They treated me very nice there as well. I asked for it to be pie cut and well done and they hit the mark. The wings were ok. If I ever want a healthy version of buffalo wings I know where to go since they bake their wings here. I will visit again and try the pepperoni and bacon for a topping. read more

Love this place! if you like garlic bread, you have to order it from here! Their marinara sauce is !

Updating my review to five stars because I love Villa Nova too much. The perfect crispiness. The perfect flavor profile. The perfect amount of (very liberal) cheese. Everything about it is perfect. It's definitely my top five thin crust tavern style pizza in the Chicago area! If you haven't tried this yet, make it a point to try. See my previous review to order "well done" to ensure it's possible to pick up the pizza so it keeps its structure. read more

This place is bomb. Pizza was so damn good...I reheated it (in the oven) 5 days after I bought it, and I swear it was even better. HUGE sausage...thin pepperoni, but it didn't matter because the sausage was so massive. Pizza sauce was great, crust was crispy. I'm actually about to go back right now because I've been thinking about it for days. Thanks y'all...this place is on point. read more

I didn't like it at all ! Will never return ! It's taste is awful ! Sausage has a real bad taste !

Review based on COVID-19! Have been a regular client and was disappointed and hurt. Ordered for pick up. Sign does say 1 customer at a time. I entered alone and cashier had mask but all employees on assembly line working did NOT have a mask. Was tempted to say something but paid and moved along. (Did not feel energy for confrontation) As an individual that works in a hospital setting, I truly hope this changes. Aside from COVID precaution, this spoke volumes of the lack of care they have not only for themselves and staff but for customers. read more

Great thin crust pizza. I usually order sausage and mushroom and there's a piece of sausage on each piece, nice!!!

I think Villa Nova and their perfectly square-cut pizzas are delicious. They're super thin and super crispy with a bunch of toppings--which come to the edge of the crust--so there's barely any crust. Let me warm you though, because they're so thin and delicious, they slide down so fast that u can eat half a pizza all by yourself. This is one of my favs of Chicago. My rating solely rates the pizza. read more

My family has been a fan of Villanova for many years... today will be the last day we order from them. We heard there was a new owner and it was not as good but still tried to give it a chance. The pizzeria called us twice to tell us our pizza was ready even though we already had a person waiting there to pick it up! No one in the establishment was wearing a mask. When we got our pizza, the bottom was completely soggy and the center was a pool of grease! We are very disappointed. read more

Excellent! Sausage is quite tasty, evenly distributed in the pie. Sauce is not to sweet or spicy. It's take out only.

Came here once and definitely one of the best pizzas I've tried but I was still kinda hungry after ordering a medium pizza. Maybe I eat a lot. I'm a fan of thin crust pizza and this is a million times better than baccis! Blows it out of the water! Prices I think is fair but could be better. Pizza is also made fresh and you can sit while you're waiting and watch them make it. Highly recommend. read more

Villa Nova Stickney - PIZZA GAINZ!!! - Pizza Near Me - Stickney, Illinois

Drove out here to try the pizza. Mozzarella Sticks - Pass. Wasn't crispy and way too salty. Chicken Wings - We got the sauce on the side and these weren't too bad. Sausage, Onion & Mushroom Pizza - We opted for the fresh mushroom and I think that is the way to go. I liked the thin crust and that little crisp at the edges. It was a bit oily, but still good. It was hard to get a hold of the waitress at times as she would be in the back. They do a lot of take out business though. Overall, pizza was good, but it's a bit out of the way for me, but I'll probably go back. read more
