    2022 wedding by Luzye Photography
    Lucia D.

Villa del Sol is a beautiful charming place to get married at! My notes after photographing a wedding there are: - it has Spanish/California architecture that looks great w/o any additional decor both during the day and at night - it is surrounded by great spots for a variety of backdrops - has an onsite bridal suite available - food is great (brownstonecafefullerton) - the rentals team is excellent, once of the best I have seen (yennispartyrentals) - parking is limited but available within walking distance - because of its location, music can go on longer than at most venues we work at

Set up for the ceremony. They have a cloth included to block the store behind it

We got married at Villa Del Sol in October of 2022 and it was the absolute best experience! The venue itself is so atmospheric, it is like a little oasis in the bustling downtown Fullerton area. It feels like you traveled back in time to a Spanish courtyard, and it has such a charming feel to it. Of all the venues I looked at over the year plus I tried to plan the wedding it was head and shoulders above the others, and it was SURPRISINGLY affordable!!! Another plus was getting use of the entire venue. The price was reasonable for the venue ($5250) and that included the onsite coordinator, Celina, who helped us figure out our layout and other details, as well as 2 security guards who make sure downtown Fullerton bar hoppers do not wander into your party. We also used the Bridal suite on the 3rd floor to get ready which was such a great option to have on site. I cannot imagine us getting married anywhere else, it was just so perfect, and our family and friends loved it. There is convenient free parking for all your guests across Harbor Blvd., and they even saved a couple spots in their parking lot for our older family members, such as my husband's grandparents and my parents, and of course for us as the couple. We had a little over 100 guests and we fit comfortably (with a little more room open) in the courtyard. They flipped the venue for us, (we used Hidalgos--check my other review for more details) so we were able to have our ceremony, then the guests were taken upstairs for cocktail hour (there is an elevator for guests who need one) and chill while we took our wedding photos, and the staff flipped the venue into a reception space. It is cliche but it was ACTUALLY magical, and the best day and I do not think any other venue would've made us as happy or satisfied. My husband and I used to go sit on the 2nd floor with pizza specials from Angelo and Vinci's when we first started dating back when we were going to Fullerton College (about 15 years ago) so the venue was already special to us. I HIGHLY recommend using this venue for your event, you will not regret it.

    Beautiful venue for photos

My husband and I got married at Villa Del Sol just before the pandemic and we have visited the venue many times since. We had just moved to OC and were looking for an affordable outdoor venue for a small winter wedding with lights overhead and this place was just perfect! The on-site coordinator was very helpful and offered us multiple contacts for the vendors we would need and ultimately we went for catering with the Fullerton Brew Company which is actually in the same building making it super convenient and the food fresh. The most compliments we got for the wedding aside from the beautiful venue was that we had the BEST wedding food they've ever had! We had plenty of heaters for the wedding guests as it was a little chilly in the evening but everything went so well. We were all about making the day elegant and easy and it was better than expected. The venue is just gorgeous with the Spanish style architecture, multiple levels of walkways and balconies, and beautiful staircases. We had plenty of options for wedding pics. Since the wedding we have referred many friends to throw parties here and have come back just to have dinner at the Fullerton Brew Co. again and revisit the big day. Overall I would recommend anyone to come get married, have a party, or even just take pictures here.

Villa del Sol is described on the Yelp page as an event venue. It's a regular plaza in downtown Fullerton that hosts nice restaurants and cute stores (a British food store among them). Maybe regular isn't the right word to describe this place. It's a beautiful plaza, built in Spanish style, hard to miss if you walk around downtown Fullerton. If you're in the area, pop in, it's a nice, relaxing, cool, quiet place off the beaten path. You can stroll around, admire the gorgeous building, browse some store, even enjoy lunch or have dinner here. It's a beautiful, romantic setting. I get why people use this place for nice events, weddings, it's photogenic and rich in details. Villa del Sol should make your Top 10 of things to visit while in Fullerton.

My wife and I got married at Villa Del Sol last November. It was amazing! I personally work in the wedding industry and there are a lot of unique great features that make the venue stand out. It has such an amazing vintage Spanish California allure. While you are right in the heart of downtown Fullerton, once you have the venue courtyard to yourself, you feel like you're in your own world. I've worked at hundreds of different venues in California, it is very rare to find a great outdoor venue where you can have music going until Midnight. That was a huge reason for selecting Villa Del Sol. You need to go through one of the restaurants at the venue for catering. We went with Fullerton Brew Co. Nick and his staff did an amazing job and our guests have still be talking about how great the food and atmosphere were. If you want a beautiful outdoor venue where you can have a great party, this is the spot!

The second my husband and I saw the Villa, we immediately fell in love with it. We wanted to have a wedding reception venue that was different from your standard golf course country club reception, and this was exactly what we were looking for. It was perfect for a summer wedding, and it looked absolutely beautiful at night when the al fresco lights turned on. We had 200 guests at our wedding, and they were comfortable and never felt too crowded because there is so much space on the terrace. All of our guest tables were downstairs, and reserved the upstairs for cocktail tables and the photo booth. I highly recommend this venue! We absolutely loved it!

After endless searching through the internet and yelp, I stuck some luck and came across the Villa del Sol through instagram. I knew right away that this was the place I wanted to get married in! It is absolutely beautiful and pictures do not do it justice, when my now husband and I first did a walk through Celina showed us around and even showed us some set up examples to truly give you a vision of what you can create. The great thing about this venue is that Celina is very attentive at responding to any questions or concerns you may have and also provides a recommended vendors list if you are in need of it (BIG HELP). When the day came, the venue came together perfectly with the help of Hidalgos, Yenny's Rentals, and of course our wedding coordinator (part of that list) plus the rest of our amazing vendors. Your family and your partner will not regret booking the Villa del Sol, for whatever event you may have. And the best part is being able to come back and visit once in a while and especially anniversaries to eat at Hidalgo's :)

My friends had their wedding reception here. Not your typical wedding venue, but very cute, unique and random (in a good way! :) Wish I could give this 3.5 stars but there are no halfsies! This place is located in a commercial area, the outdoor reception patio area is surrounded by little shops, bars, restaurants. The patio was decorated just beautifully almost like an outdoor secret garden feel.. Reminded me of back home at Santana Row the middle outdoor area or a little bit of Palo Alto... Tables were set up all around and in the surrounding "walkways" which were also the door entry ways to some stores.. That was different. But also not my fave since some were backed up against the wall.. The desk above was nice and open, overlooking the patio reception. Service was good, but at times just felt a bit right and crowded or you had a bush/ tree in ur way. I think this would be a great venue for much smaller parties or one not catered for sitting down..

Tent with the lights at night was perfect!

We just had our wedding here in February and it was BEAUTIFUL! Our day landed on one of the wettest days of the year. But the rain honestly made for beautiful pictures! And thank you to Shawna for taking care of everything to assure our day still ran smooth. Without me even knowing she was there first thing in the morning to try and vacuum out all the rain from the courtyard (yeah the rain was pretty bad). We had to last minute decide on the tent with the lights and as you'll see in pictures, it did not take away from the elegance of the wedding whatsoever. We had 140 guest and the rows went all the way to back comfortably (even with the tent). We had tables down the aisle ways but it was still really open to the courtyard. The bridal suite was made up for me early in the morning and made the day feel like a breeze. I am sooo beyond happy we chose this venue to really fill our Spanish wedding vibe. There's soo many places for great photos, rain or shine. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and beautiful location!!!

We just had our wedding at villa del sol this weekend. It was catered by Stadium Tavern managed by Tom Dow. The food was amazing and service just as good. My guests raved at the amount of food they were given and how good it was. They even packed is some leftovers from our wedding to bring home. Now for Shawna. What an amazing woman. She made our day go on without any hitches. She is patient and professional even when myself and my fiancé had a couple of freak outs. We loved working with her and recommend both Shawna and Stadium Tavern at the Villa Del Sol for any wedding. Our guests have been raving about our wedding and loved the atmosphere and service.

The only communication I received was asking where an item I rented (the projector/VIBE) was placed. I told them, they found it, and that was the end of it. Shortly after, Alex (the COO) emailed me stating that my security deposit would be returned by this weekend. It still hasn't been returned. About 4 days after receiving the email from Alex , Chloe texted me asking if I had received my deposit. I told her no and sent her Alex's email confirming the refund. 2.5 weeks after my event, she suddenly claimed that damages were found after my event. This raised immediate red flags. - The venue had cleaners come in right after my event, so they would've notified her of damages just like they did after her other events. So I don't see what's so difficult about showing me the cleaners claimed that the kitchen door was locked. Obviously, it wasn't if she can't provide proof. - Chloe herself said she would come in the following day to confirm the rented equipment was where I stated. So again, why weren't these issues brought up immediately if there was truly damages done to her venue during my event. - I had already contacted her the next day asking about camera footage, and she told me the cameras do not retain footage past a short period Despite all of this, 2.5 weeks after my event, I received this message: "After your event, our cleaning team reported a few issues... 1. The kitchen door was locked and a locksmith was called 2. A crack found on the wall 3. A broken door stopper" When I asked for video footage or proof, none was provided. Instead, I was sent a screen recording of text messages between Chloe and her cleaning staff. Her cleaning staff said these issues occurred at another event the following weekend after my event. Immediately, when I said thats not the date of my event she unsends the screen recorded message between her and her cleaners.... They are now claiming that I locked the kitchen door, requiring a locksmith, yet when I asked for proof, I received no response from Chloe and Alex. As of now, I am still waiting for my deposit. This entire experience feels like an attempt to retroactively justify withholding a deposit. The lack of transparency, delayed claims, and refusal to provide evidence is extremely concerning and unprofessional. If you value clear communication, integrity, and lawful business practices, I would strongly suggest booking elsewhere

Each experience was hosted in a different room, which kept things feeling unique each time. For larger events like birthday parties, the food was served buffet-style, while smaller gatherings such as the bridal shower had table service, which felt more intimate and elevated. Most tea sets include scones with cream and jam, tea sandwiches, mini desserts, and a refillable pot of tea. Portions are on the smaller side, so you'll likely leave satisfied but not overly full. The food itself is decent but not particularly memorable. The atmosphere and experience are definitely the main draw here. It's a cute spot for a girls' day or special occasion, though it is a bit pricey. The middle-tier tea service is around $36 per adult, and they also offer a Little Princess Tea for kids at $20, which includes fruit, scones, desserts, and cucumber sandwiches + PB&J. My besties and I were looking for an afternoon tea place in OC to hang together after our reunion and this was the perfect place to chit chat & enjoy afternoon tea like we did in Cambridge! Loved the extensive tea collection but the food quality fell a tad short. The sandwiches were okay, nothing special. The desserts were okay as well - we had quite a bit of leftovers. The tomato soup and fruit cup was good, but salad was not fresh and I saw lots of rotten greens in my salad. Wish they'd wash / pick them out more thoroughly. It comes out to about $36/person before tax and tip, which I think is quite a good deal! The location can be a little difficult to find because the space is actually a banquet/event space where they do weddings, celebrations, showers, and parties. There isn't an obvious sign on the outside that says this is "Spring Tea Garden" but once you walk in, you'll see signs leading you to the spring tea garden. They have their own large parking lot so parking is not an issue. If you're visiting on the weekend, I highly recommend you reserve a table a day or two in advance. The space itself looks very historic, quaint, and cute! Love how much natural lighting the tea room has to give it an organic brightness to the room. I'd come back again for another girl's get together or a mommy-daughter thing.

We visited several other places, but every time we walked out, we found ourselves saying, "It's just not The Charleston." One venue even tried to slash $3,000 off the price if we booked on the spot, which only made us feel uneasy. The Charleston, on the other hand, felt honest, professional, and genuinely invested in making our daughter's night special. The ballroom itself is stunning -- vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, uplighting, a full stage, LED screen, hardwood floors, bar areas, and a beautiful bridal suite. As parents, we wanted her debut to feel elevated and unforgettable, and this venue delivered in every way. A few standout details: * Planning Pod: Their floorplan tool made seating assignments incredibly easy. We could drag and drop guests into exact seats, which was a lifesaver for a debut with VIPs and a full court. The BEOs were clearly laid out too, keeping communication smooth for both our family and the venue team. * Early setup access: Starting at 11 AM gave everyone plenty of time to prepare without rushing. * DIY friendly decor: They allowed us to decorate the ballroom ourselves, and staff was supportive the entire time. They even set up tables for assembling flower arrangements. * Band + DJ compatibility: Zero technical issues all night. The elevator access made load in easy for everyone. (DJ Ramon Guzman: Highly recommend booking him. He served as both DJ and MC, ran the entire program flawlessly, and kept the energy flowing.) * Custom video loop: Our welcome video played throughout the night and added a beautiful personal touch. * Parlor/bridal suite: Debutante and her court used it all day for hair, makeup, wardrobe changes, and quiet breaks. * Professional staff: Every interaction -- from load in to teardown -- was organized, friendly, and efficient. Emily, John and crew were fantastic! * Food: We chose the Charleston Signature Buffet, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how delicious everything was. Some even admitted they went back for seconds (or thirds!). * Guest experience: Parking, entrance flow, open bar, grazing table, buffet line, champagne toast, coffee service, cake cutting, and seating layout all felt polished and effortless. We didn't hear a single negative comment. As parents, we just wanted our daughter's debut to feel special, stress free, and unforgettable -- and The Charleston delivered all of that and more. The night was beautiful, seamless, and everything we hoped it would be, and our daughter absolutely loved every moment of it. If you're planning a debut, wedding, or milestone event, we highly recommend The Charleston. It's the kind of venue that lets you actually enjoy the moment.

One of the things we loved most was how versatile the space is. Whether you're planning a wedding, birthday celebration, corporate event, quinceañera, anniversary party, or any other gathering, The Charleston provides an incredible setting that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. The ballroom is spacious and beautiful, with plenty of room for dining, dancing, and entertainment, while still maintaining an intimate feel for guests. The building has so much character, with beautiful architecture, high ceilings, stunning woodwork, and a timeless atmosphere that creates the perfect backdrop for any special occasion. We got married here a few months ago, and it was absolutely perfect. This venue is perfect if you…read morewant to add your own personal touches as it can be as diy as you want with decor, or if you have the budget to get your own personal vendors they allow outside ones! I love that you can provide your own catering, we had our family business cater the food for our event and that was nice because no other venues we looked at allowed that. Our wedding coordinator Katie put in so much work for our wedding and we are so grateful for everything she did for us. She gets things done! My best tip for someone looking to book is to be very organized and clear with every item you want if you are planning to bring your own decor, they are great and will get it done! But being organized will make things easier. The venue closes at 10pm, but we were able to book an area 12 minutes away at one of the bars in Downtown Fullerton. We had a good turnout of guests there for the After Party! We got so much compliments on our beautiful wedding and ceremony, and many compliments on the venue. Thank you Griffith house for being the perfect venue for us !

The Griffith House was great venue to take photos and have our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and…read morereception dinner - all in one place. We started planning our July wedding in January 2022, and we wanted to have everything outside so that guests wouldn't worry about masking indoors during the time of Covid. The Griffith House has huge space for everything. The other great thing that others have already mentioned is that, other than table, chair, and bar rentals, you get to choose your own vendors and bring your own alcohol - provided you pay for their bartender and security, of course. You do have to work with (and pay) one of their in-house day-of coordinators from Hutchinson Weddings, but Amy, who we we worked with, was very helpful working through the rentals that we used from the venue, as well as coordinating our outside vendors on the day of the wedding. We really wanted to choose our own caterer and bakeries, to choose wines and beers that we liked, and to bring my own pro audio equipment for the ceremony and music. The Griffith House let us do all that.
