Visited Hangar 21 for a family member's wedding. It was an all in one venue. There was plenty of room inside/outside for socializing and gathering with family and friends, dancing. The way the hangar doors open up to let the light in, get some air...it was perfect for a June wedding! The nuptials took place outside to the side of hangar so didn't have to walk far for the festivities. It was a sunny afternoon/evening so a canopy of some sort would have been nice for guests sitting in the sun but other than that it was a beautiful wedding and venue. They even offered helicopter rides for only $70 for the guests! Parking was no problem, either. Awesome venue, cool experience! read more

I visited Hangar 21 through a conference and this was one of the places we got to visit for a happy hour. There were 2-3 bar areas that the conference had paid for an open bar. There was a cool dj there with an outrageous drumset and a big dance floor. The restrooms were nicer port-a-potties. They had a small little lobby and 2 stalls inside. Our conference had an option for helicopter rides which was advertised without a price so I was a little disappointed to find out that that they were $80 for about 4 minutes. I ended up not going for the ride, but it was a nice added offer. This event spot is beautiful though with great sunset views so I definitely recommend coming here! read more

Okay so lets face it, given my aviation obsession, this was going to be a winner no matter what. Talk about a perfect place for an event. We were here for a wedding reception, and to have it basically in a fenced off section of the ramp at this airport, in an converted hanger was awesome. The only complaint is that it is not a particularly active GA Airport so the plane watching was limited. The space was nice with high ceilings, and the patio area was large and offered a nice respite when the DJ was in full swing. Parking however can be tight. read more

We held a corporate party for 325 people at Hangar 21. The venue is perfect to provide a lot of options for different tastes in entertainment. We could watch planes come and go, we had ping pong, corn hole and other outdoor entertainment in the courtyard. A perfect deck for two firepits when the evening got chilly. Large TV indoors for the world series and lots of room outside for a band and dance floor. They even brought in a couple of helicopters to add to the ambiance. Our clients were thrilled with the Top Gun themed party at this spectacular venue. I can't say enough about Savannah, our coordinator, and her team who were with us through the night. She was always prompt when answering any questions or concerns we had, and she is extremely organized and detailed oriented. All of our guests RAVED about the venue and how good the food was. We went with the Classic Buffet and selected the Pear & Walnut salad, Cabernet Braised Short Ribs, Mesquite Smoked Salmon, Pesto Tortellini, Green Beans, and Mashed potatoes. We couldn't be happier with how the day went in huge part not only to Lauren, but also Jay's top notch staff. I would without a doubt recommend Jays to anyone getting married as they are the exclusive caterer to a number of venues in Southern California. However, I would strongly encourage Hangar 21 because how do you beat a helicopter grand entrance?? As stressful as wedding planning can be, trust me when I say you will not regret going with Jay's Catering. It's a beautiful and unique venue, totally fit our vision as we were seeking something modern& industrial, plus the helicopter entrance really sold us. However, they nickel & dime you for EVERYTHING. I'm talking like, silverware is an extra cost. We also didn't want to go with Jay's Catering (the food is bland & terrible) so we decided on their PREFERRED vendor (Manohar's Delhi Palace) which was still an extra 10K for some kind of buyout fee (despite him being a preferred vendor). This was honestly annoying enough but once we signed the contract we decided to suck it up, until the day of. We paid an additional $1600 for a ceiling installation and outdoor lights (bc you need lights at night but once again, extra cost). The venue failed to tell us that there NO AC here. Summertime in Orange County & you fail to tell us you don't have air conditioning?! On top of that, the ceiling installation we paid for blocked the fans, ALSO something they should have warned us about. We were so annoyed and apologized profusely to our guests, I really don't understand how the Hangar thought this was acceptable. Our friends & family made the most of it but for anyone else looking to book their wedding here, I encourage you to ask them all these details prior to signing a contract & then decide whether or not you feel it's worth it. read more

We held our retirement party at Hangar 21 and it was amazing! Mike is excellent to work with. I was a bit nervous planning a party for over 150 people, so I had lots of questions. Mike always responded promptly to my calls or texts! Our guests raved about the venue! Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for the helicopter rides, but a great time was still had by all. You'll need to bring in the color with a gray and white landscape for you go crazy on. My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at Hangar 21 South and we sure were so happy that we did! A little back story- our original wedding date was for May 2020 and was going to be a completely DIY wedding at another venue. Like many others, it got cancelled due to the pandemic. However, the silver lining was getting to book with Hangar21! What we fell in love with was the high ceilings of the hangar and the ample space. The venue itself is very beautiful and is easy to decorate. Assuming weather is good, the hangar doors can stay open and give this nice indoor-outdoor feel to your event. They also have certain rentals available on site (i.e. hedges, gold arch) which saved us from having to seek out items from other rental companies. Additionally, we took advantage of their helicopter grand entrance offer and we highly recommend this feature. It was perfect for our event as our ceremony was off-site and the entrance completely surprised our guests. It helped set the excitement for the night. We also have to add that Mike, their helicopter manager, was very accommodating and professional with all of our questions and requests on our walk-through with the Jay's catering staff. We also had a very positive experience with the whole process of booking Hangar21 with Jays Catering and had no issues with dealing with both entities. What a fun night! I will remember this special night forever. The helicopter ride was my maiden voyage. I wasn't nervous or scared, just excited! What a cool way to travel! Nolan was our pilot. He was so smooth and gave us a great tour of orange county and straight up the beautiful coast to los Angeles. It really made me fall in love with my home again. The flight made me see how lucky we are to live in so cal! The dinner after was intimate but safe. Outside, socially distant, but a great way to celebrate safely. Just had our wedding here about 2 weeks ago and it was a blast! Their entire team from the venue to the catering were fantastic and accommodating- quick to respond to emails and help us plan our big event! The space is beautiful as is but simple to decorate however you want. We loved having our ceremony overlook the tarmac and the hangar was perfect for the dinner and dancing. To the owner: I realize it may seem like you're receiving a barrage of negative reviews from a single event, but I encourage you to view the criticism constructively. Based on your responses to other reviews and what I know of your communication with the bride, it doesn't appear that you understand the gravity of what it means to a bride when something goes wrong on their wedding day. I hope this feedback provides an opportunity to improve on some of the deficiencies in your product, I attended a wedding here on 04/01/21 as a groomsman. I was also involved in the planning/logistics of the wedding and would consider myself a customer/client. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location as a wedding venue. I am sure it is an acceptable location if there are no setbacks. However, on this day the wedding was interrupted by intense helicopter noise in the middle of the service. This noise was so overwhelming that I could not hear the officiant despite being a few feet away from him. I can see from responses to other reviews earlier that the noise was the result of emergency maintenance on an aircraft. While I understand the venue has no control over neighboring noise, I disagree that the client should fully bear the risk. It is possible to anticipate these kinds of uncertainties. As a wedding venue on a live tarmac, it is important to have contingencies in place in the likely (their word) event of noise. This could be as simple as managing expectations or sharing schedules to others who share the tarmac. It's disappointing a wedding venue couldn't at least provide guidance to us on what to do if interrupted, offer opportunities to reshoot/re-record segments, or even waive certain fees. The stakes are high for weddings, and it is even more important that couples can trust a venue who is proactive about mitigating risks and will take the extra steps to make things right in the event something goes wrong. To my knowledge, no effort was made. Further, to frame this event as a "buyer beware" situation is insensitive and dismissive. It sends a message that they are not interested in improving. For that alone, I encourage prospective couples to look elsewhere. They are not serious about their business. read more

Got married here : picked the venue because it was exactly what we were looking for : modern industrial design, different experience and beautiful venue. Our wedding here is memorable, we loved it. We picked the venue first and "lived" with the fact they only had an exclusive catering company. Our contact while planning the wedding originally was very frustrating and caused a lot anger and madness on our side. Then COVID happened, we ended up having to re-schedule our wedding and push it back a few times, and each time being quite frustrating and annoying. Our contact with the catering company was hard to deal with each time. In the end, the catering company was great, the venue perfect, and the headaches and frustration, although we remember it well even years later, still was worth it. I would probably do it again and our catering company contact ended up being much more pleasant on our wedding day. We wanted a memorable and fun experience for our guests and we were able to achieve this. To add some resolution to reviews (everyone is only motivated to give reviews when pissed off or happy so will give mostly 5 stars or 1 stars) I'd say it would've been a lot less headaches if we had picked somewhere else and while it wasn't perfect and could've been a much better planning experience, the execution was all there for venue and catering company. They had all the details down. Everything was galling while planning but the day of the wedding was all smooth and perfect as it probably could be. read more

I have never came across a venue, were the staff server pour an alcoholic beverage to a minor flute glass. Unacceptable!! If I haven't seen him, my kids and my neice would of drank champagne. What is wrong with your staff. This server was pouring champagne for the toast and seen that their are minors seated at out table. He still had the idiotic to pour champagne in front of me and my niece's parents. Luckily, i have stopped him and asked for apple cider. There was a good amount of minors at this wedding and I wouldn't be surprised that the minors was served champagne. It's common sense but I guess your servers don't have. Lastly, the time between salad and entrée served was too long! I would recommend your venue only for the venue but for the server and food service was horrible. I have to give them five stars. So we had an event. It was a Christmas event. People were coming from all over Southern California. Now it was all planned out. There would be a helicopter ride. Everyone was excited. So this place would be perfect. This day start off nice. But mother nature decided to throw a wrench to it. I decided to rain with a little lightning. OK at times it was pouring down. All of this was not planned for. The staff and hangar 21 were very professional. They are troopers, that's the best I can say about them. OK I can say more. They went out of their way to be outside in the middle of the rain. Directing people to park. They were outside waiting at the gate. I've been to many places, where it begins to rain and the attendance just stay by the door. I hangar 21 there was three attendance. And all three were the rain. Getting soaked for our convenience. The inside is a nice hanger. It's big enough for probably two maybe three planes. The people that ran the hanger were very helpful. There was a little kitchen. They were helpful when the man was ending. They even helped put things away. They made sure we had a good time. The hanger door was open. And we can see the rain. But also brought in fresh air and if it wasn't raining it would give a grade outdoor patio feeling. I have to say that this would be a great place for any social events. The area is gated. Which makes it great for private events parties weddings or whatever. The hanger is big enough to host Big parties. The privacy of being on an airfield and the luxury of being able to rent out a helicopter for rides makes it even a better venue. Another great feature about this place is that you can put tables do you have a dance floor and you can have your food tables for serving. Still have plenty a room for people to mingle. And if you like the music a bit loud. Like most people do. You won't have neighbors to complain about it. Also the hanger at the very end. And right as you drive in the gate. The place was very clean. So you think of a hanger. First thing on your mind is that they work on the engines there. Well that's what I thought. And they may do that. But you will not be able to notice anything dirty in this hanger. The whole hanger was so clean you would think it was brand new. This place is a secret gem. I would never of thought of this place on my own. I'm glad the event was there. Something new for future ideas in party planning. The event was great. This place was spacious and clean and the staff was very helpful and nice. They had the place set up nicely for the holiday party I attended. There was a spot for our food and drinks, tables and chairs, refrigerator, the photo booth and even an xmas tree. The speakers were on point for the music while everyone got their boogie on, also I believe there was about four big screens above it, nice! The breeze from the outside was nice. The view of the planes and tower lights were a delight. I was very excited about the helicopter ride but the rain caused safety issues and it was canceled. Hopefully we will go back and try it another day. Definitely a very unique space and place to throw any kind of large party. Having our Christmas Party 2016 was pretty fun. Good food, drinks, great music, tables and chairs were set up in the Hangar. Definitely a different atmosphere for a Party. And if it were not for the Rain we would have gone for a helicopter ride. But all in all it was a fun time. Maila of course made sure everybody had a good time. We had a Christmas tree and guy dressed up as Santa Clause, and gift exchanging game. And when it was all said and done the crew folded up the tables, folded up the chairs, and swept and mopped the floor. So disappointed. This was one of my top choices for a wedding reception venue. I set an appointment through the link that they sent me and got an email confirmation and reminders leading up to the day. My fiancé and I show up and follow the instructions, which were to ring the door bell at the double doors. No answer, we stay outside in the sun for 20 mins ringing the doorbell, still no answer. We try calling and email and same thing so we just leave. I could reschedule and come back but this place is 40 mins from us so it was a waste of time. This gives me absolutely NO confidence that they can run an event smoothly/with minimal issues. This place is also suppose to operated by Jay's catering which also gives me no confidence in using them as caterers for my wedding even if we end up booking somewhere else. read more

I needed a place to celebrate a retirement with a colleague. We found that many venues force you to use their caterer, rent their tables, etc. Hangar 21 didn't impose any of those restrictions on us. They were accommodating and patient, and the venue was just as they promised. Immaculate and ready for us when we got there. Our party was host to about 125 guests, and we never felt crowded, even with a stage, "10 round" tables, a taco man, and a full bar. We had easy access, and most importantly, we had the privacy that we wanted. I really can't recommend this as a venue enough. In fact, based on the experience, one of my former co-workers booked it for another party. Everyone that I've talked to about my party says that they can't wait to go back! read more

I can go on and on about how fabulous an event we had here with my son's Bar Mitzvah party. The space decorates beautifully, it's a perfect size, facilities are easy to use and wonderful, everything is sparkling clean and beautifully maintained. But that is not the extent of what makes this the place you must immediately call and book, before your event date is taken, as they are booking up fast... and it's not just the helicopter rides available to you and your guests, that were breathtakingly glorious. It's not just the grand entrance you can choose, where my son flew in and emerged from a helicopter to the sound of his cheering guests. What the biggest reason is to book with Hangar 21 is the people involved. I cannot say enough about how pleasant and easy an experience this was. From Rob, the owner, to Samantha, the event coordinator, to everyone in between... these are honest, friendly, hard-working, and accommodating people with a love for their business.
