Words can not begin describe my 2 night stay in this amazingly iconic and magical retreat... I'm reffering to it as a retreat because I didn't have to leave... I could have stayed put and been totally satisfied and completely rejuvenated by the time I left... I call it magical... Because this place LITERALLY takes you back in time... The architecture... The ambiance... Down to the names of the some of the rooms refferencing "capone" an original Chicago mobster...that I'm SURE Has stayed at this place a few times! It is absolutely reminiscent of a time long ago... The stories these walls hold... I can only imagine... the details are elegantly EVERYWHERE... I kept finding things that caught my eye making me question what the purpose for it was 100yrs ago... There's an amazing tunnel window above the copper kitchen sinks with stained glass at the end of it... You can see the walls are over a foot thick... The fireplaces... Adorned with marble... The wrought iron arched doorway in the entrance... The elevator... Small but purposeful...after a bottle of wine the stairs are daunting... But even the stairs...are beautiful. I stayed in the "Milan" suite... It had thee most beautiful comforting king sized pillared canopy bed... The accents amazing.... Complete with a biography of Mc Jagger on the fireplace mantel... And let me just say...the fireplace was perfect for warming up on this chilly day...last night was colder and it was just what I NEEDED while enjoying an amazing glass of wine (And for my own personal budior' photo shoot) the service from the host AMAZING! Thank you brook for all your assistance... especially the Bike! Getting to use the house bikes (*Trek cruisers) to tour my city and go lakefront... Better then those rentals... And also for answering every question with such kind and concise explanations... Such a patient and sweet young woman! I appreciate her check ins with me to verify I was settled... And made sure I knew where everything was... So very attentive! The kitchen bring available was such a nice touch! The thoughtful snacks... Which came in handy a few times! This place needs to be marked a historical landmark if it hasn't already... The architecture is just amazing...along with all wood work. I look forward to staying again! And having a party or 2 or 3... since you can actually rent the whole building!

Please read our checking in notes. This B& B is 5 stars for its people, hi Cathy , as well as it's attention to details. Caio for now.

Drop dead gorgeous place with attention to every detail. I really appreciate that in lodging. We were very comfortable. The design and decor of the Villa are impeccable. The Grand Tuscan suite was large enough and perfect for our party of 4. And that bathroom is straight out of the most luxury home with deluxe steam shower, jetted tub and candle light... The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. Lincoln Park - super cool neighborhood! Tons of restaurants, small businesses, stimulating architecture and foliage to feast your eyes on. It was a little far from from downtown area if that's where you're going every day. The Uber's got expensive. The all hours access to Belgian waffles, fresh baked cookies, drinks, bagels, yogurt, fruit, fresh berries, meats cheeses and other toppings for DIY paninis was so nice. Sometimes you're just too tired to venture out for a snack. The people - one of the things I love about staying at a B & B are the people you meet around the communal breakfast table. We had some nice conversations. Only complaint: we slept fantastic the first three nights until what sounded like 20 people checked in above us and were stomping around till midnight and up early in the morning. Bad sleeps the last 2 nights :(. Not the Villa's fault just a bummer. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful accommodations.

From start to finish Villa d' Citta was impeccable. Cathy met us at the villa for check in and gave us the grand tour. She also answered our questions about local dining and attractions. The room was wonderful, we enjoyed some time stargazing on the back deck and slept great. In the morning we were treated to waffles that we requested and a wonderful pizza. We walked to the Lincoln Park Zoo the following day(about a 10 minute walk) Even though check out was at 11, Cathy made it clear that we were welcome to stop back into the villa for refreshments and sandwiches throughout the day. We will surely be returning. Thanks Cathy!

Very friendly staff and a quirky vibe - perfect for people who want something more relaxed. Breakfast is included and you order off a menu they give you. Very good! They also have free snacks! We were in the Skylight Room which I liked - access to the roof deck, felt pretty private. You do hear the kitchen though I. The morning, but there is an additional door to close if needed. It's sort of like staying at a friend's house great for those who want to be in a classic Chicago neighborhood instead of downtown. Would recommend!

I had a garage spot, which was great, although there was always a spot on the street to park. The neighborhood is nice and we felt comfortable walking even into the evening. They provided a custom breakfast with daily specials. The omelets are fantastic - FYI. There really isn't anything that i would change. I will definitely be back and will recommend this spot to anyone visiting that doesn't want to maybe deal with downtown, but yet are super close if that's your end goal. Thank you, Ashlee and Kat! You two make the experience what it is for the guests! 5 stars

The bed was cozy, but the pillows were not my style. That don't mean others won't like it, but bring your own pillow if you're use to it. They may have a cheaper garage across the street, but I would highly advise paying the extra money because I believe their garage allows in and out as many times until you check out. Others only offered 1 in and out.

They are a high rise with about 30 floors. They are located in the River North area surrounded by restaurants, walking distance to shopping; you can walk to the Magnificent Mile but I found a few shops that were right around the corner that I love. If you're a diva, try Accessorize on State St. Since they are located downtown, you are going to experience the city "noise" like ambulances, police, and ohh the church bells. There are a few Catholic Churches in the vicinity that ring their bells at the same time every day (9am, noon, weddings). So just remember, all hotels downtown are going to be noisy. Don't book a hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago if you want peace and quiet. Really this is the only con of our stay but we still enjoyed Chicago. We too experienced the guy at the front desk who seemed "bothered" and not very personable, a trait that is necessary when dealing in hospitality. The welcome wasn't warm. You will get communications via text to make sure you have settled in okay, to see if there are any issues, to extend your stay and help you sign out. I liked that. I figure technology is taking over where human social skills used to be. Overall, the hotel was clean. I had one issue where the cleaners didn't clean around the base of the toilet. I was able to address that in the text. They sent someone up right away to clean it. Each unit has a patio which we enjoyed. We could see the Sears Tower and the Holy Name Cathedral from our room. There is a Whole Foods and Lifetime Fitness across the street. I cooked breakfast every morning in our room which saved on eating out. There is no restaurant in the building. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. You will need to purchase air freshener. There is a washer and dryer where you can wash your towels. Detergent is provided. We washed our towels instead of asking for more. There are also additional towels in the closet. Since I'm a clean freak I purchased Clorox wipes to keep the surfaces clean. They only provide one roll of paper towels. I suggest that you read all the information they provide to you upon booking and you will have no issues. Everything is spelled out. They return the $250 they hold for incidentals the next business day. It is noted that if you lose the key fobs, there is a fee. The desk guy also tells you this when he shows you your room. So it is not a surprise fee. The check out procedure is super easy; hit check out in the app and leave the fobs on the hooks near the door. That's it!! Checkout time is 11:00am. Our train left at 9pm, they give you the opportunity to check your bags for free. You can extend your stay in the room by the hour at a cost that increases $25 for each hour. We extended our stay for a couple hours and checked our bags so we could continue to do more stuff in this great city. We will stay here again. I loved the location. But don't expect hugs and kisses upon arrival. Lol, this guy will check you in, explain how the elevators work and how to access your room. We got it! We still enjoyed our stay

The food was brunch with frittata, French toast, bacon, sausage, roasted vegetables, butternut squash and fresh fruit. The food looked delicious. The butternut squash was my favorite. Now for the downside, my bf and I were a few of the last people to get our first plate. When we were getting food, most of the trays were almost empty and they didn't have enough food. It's a buffet and shouldn't there be enough food for all. My bf didn't get the frittata or bacon. Usually there's more than enough food and then some. People asked and they weren't making more. A friend wanted more sausage links for his son and they had to make a couple links. Disappointed because usually there should be second helping and at least enough for first helping. So I ended up with a stomach ache and not feeling well. I hadn't left yet. I rushed home. Found out there were a couple more people had the same feeling after leaving. We were looking to try the Sunday buffet. I don't think I will now.

The food was pretty good and wasn't skimpy with the portions. It has my tummy rumbling now thinking about the crispy tots and bacon. The combo I got also came with a pretty good omelete, sausage links and French toast. You can swap out the tots for sweet potato fries to feel more healthy or just eat the fruit cup and call it a day. Not one of those bougee overprice brunch spots, an actual brunch spot. Definitely want to return some time.
