I got Matthew's name from my step daughter, who had used him for plumbing work at her house last year. What looked to me like a few odd jobs at my place turned into a full re-piping job, once thirty years of no attention were brought to light. Through it all, Matthew and his brother Whitney were professional, diligent, thorough and skilled with obvious extensive experience. They kept me constantly apprised of what they were doing and why. The price was more than fair, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have working water lines and sewer/drains everywhere now. Considering the final scope of the work, I'm still amazed it got done in about a week and a half. read more

Exceptional work and very reasonable prices. I had 2 dishonest plumbers give me huge quotes for repairing a couple leaks and I knew the prices were not right, they were looking to rip me off. Matthew from Viking comes in and fixes the leaks quickly and the right way, at a fraction of what the scammers were quoting me. Super nice guy and he will answer all your questions and he keeps everything very clean. This is the right way to do business and because of that Viking is now the plumbing company I will use always in the future, plus they do a lot of other construction services also. This is the only plumbing company I will recommend to my friends and family and my own clients from now on. Couldn't be happier. read more

Our toilet overflowed which was caused by roots in the pipes. They dug up the front yard and fixed it so quickly. They even filled the yard back in and made it look like it had not been dug up. So thankful for this service, thanks Matthew! read more

Matt over at Viking is a stand-up guy. No overselling, no nonsense, just powers through a job cleanly and lets you know what he's up to. He replaced all of my old gate valves with angle-stops, put in a new water shutoff valve for my condo, repaired, piped for overflow and re-strapped my water heater, and installed my kitchen sink, and put new fixtures for the tub, all by himself, in one day. That's efficiency. If I need a plumber again I'm calling. read more

So I had a clogged drain and found this guy Matt here on yelp. Said he was nearby and it was kinda late, so figured why not. Not only did he show up faster than he said he would, but he was able to unclog my main line pretty quickly. He did diagnose another clog, but said it wasn't an urgent fix; seems honest about it. I'll definitely call him to fix it soon. read more

My experience with Matt and Viking Plumbing was outstanding. My water heater of questionable age and declining ability decided to give up the ghost this morning, and I was faced with having to replace it on very short notice. I called around and had a very negative experience with one of the major home improvement stores, so my folks (who were helping me find someone to come out the same day) started calling local shops and we found Viking. From the beginning, it was straightforward, to the point, and fast. I spoke to Matt on the phone and he gave me a quote and an estimated window for installation that far exceeded my expectations. He arrived on time, less than two hours after we called him, and he drained, removed, and replaced the hot water heater for exactly what he quoted us. No extra fees, no hidden costs. Matt gave me a quick walk through of what I needed to do as far as maintenance and upkeep, and that was that. The bottom line is that Matt was a very professional individual that did quality work on short notice. I'm extremely happy with the service, and will keep his information handy for future plumbing work I need help with. Thank you again! read more

Our downstairs toilet started to have issues with flushing and it started flooding. We didn't know who to call but we were referred to Matthew by a close family friend. We were concerned we weren't going to have any help for 24 hours and would have to shut off all the water to the house. Lucky for us, Matthew was able to come within an hour and 1/2 of calling. He was polite, a great listener and an excellent customer service provider. He pinpointed what was wrong and fixed it right away. A true superhero in disguise! Thanks again Matthew:) read more

Needed to have a gas line relocated and another capped off for a kitchen renovation. Matt gave us a quote right away when everyone else wanted to come take a look - even after providing pics of what we needed to have done. Showed up on time, was quick, efficient and neat. Matt was literally the ONLY thing that went right that day! Very happy with the work. Would definitely call Matt/Viking Plumbing for future projects. read more

I had called Matt to install my new kitchen sink. He had quoted me a very fair price from all other competitors. He came over at the arranged time and took out my old kitchen sink and replaced it with the new one I had purchased. He did a great job and charged me his quoted price. He was very honest and easy to work with. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any plumbing services done! He even took a look at my running toilet and fixed it. read more

We were planning to remodel our townhouse and we wanted to convert our water heater and stove from electrical to gas. I spoke to lots of plumbers and when Matt came and explained how he can help us, it was a done deal. He gave us a great quote, pulled a gas line from a roof all the way down to the kitchen and installed everything when we needed him to come out in few weeks after we started remodel. In the middle we also needed some electrical work done, which he also came out and did with his crew. They were very punctual and just did an amazing job at helping out with everything that we needed in timely manner. I will be recommending Matt and his crew to everyone I know. read more

We needed a new vessel sink and faucet installed. I called Matt this morning for an estimate, he arrived 10 minutes later. He gave me a great quote for the job and installed both this morning. Matt was polite, professional, neat and did a beautiful job. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! Whenever something breaks down in my home, I fear having to call a maintenance person. I don't know if they will be honest, or will try to cheat me or make matters worse. The name of this business caught my eye because you don't find many Vikings on this coast. After procrastinating getting my sink and disposal fixed, I was able to get a same day appointment. I was met on my lunch break by a nice gentleman ( by nice I mean clean and pleasantly smelling). He came in, went right to work. He fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes. I was utterly grateful. The cost was perfect. I know who I will call next time I'm having plumbing issues. read more

Matthew was amazing! We just moved into a new house that needed some sewer work along with some other things. Matthew worked with our budget and did all the work very quickly. He even removed my old dishwasher and rebooted my water heater pilot at no additional charge, refused to take extra $. Super happy with his work and he was very quick to respond to emails/texts. Thanks Matthew! read more

I called Matt after getting a few other bids to fix a bubbling tub and toilet. It turned out that the sewer line was backed up and our older house needed a clean out installed to even be able to see what the problem was. Matt came out and was able to quickly diagnose the issue for free and gave me a considerably better price on the clean out install than the others I had called. He came back the next day, installed the clean out and discovered that the main sewer pipe was overrun with roots and broken in a couple places. Again after assessing where the sewer line ran, he gave me a very fair quote to replace the main line. He communicated any potential problems, including the need to cut into our driveway if access was somehow blocked. A day and a half later, everything was fixed, no need to cut concrete and all back in working order. I found Matt very honest, communicative and skilled. He made the process understandable and affordable when it was looking like it was going to be a much more time-consuming and expensive job. We'll definitely be calling again if we have any plumbing needs! read more

Needed a gas line moved. Matt came out that same day to give me a quote. Crawled under the house, never an easy task and gave me a free and reasonable quote. He came out a week later and moved the line very quickly. Excellent work and at the quoted price. Thanks, Matt! read more

I had an issue with my bathroom sink that I thought I could fix, but figured I needed someone more professional for the job. I was referred to Viking Plumbing and gave Matt Torkelson a call. I didn't know what to expect, but it was a quick phone call and within the next day, he was there on time with a very professional appearance. He fixed my problem very quickly and I couldn't have asked for anything much quicker and more reliable. I have to say, I've never called a plumber before because most of the time I just want to do it myself, but this time was different and I'm more open to just call Matt next time. The time it would have taken me to do it, Matt just did it quicker than I ever could. The service was outstanding and well worth it! Thank you Matt & Viking Plumbing! read more

We have wanted to repair our troublesome,1940's plumbing for ages and Matt from Viking Plumbing sounded like the right fit for us. He met with us right after I called for an inspection and showed us the large roots clogging our main line. Matt recommended that we replace that line as well as the drain line in the kitchen. He e-mailed us an estimate that arrived in a few hours which seemed very fair and understandable. We agreed to start the next morning. Matthew and his crew were not only punctual, professional and knowledgeable but were also "lightning fast"! The job was impeccably completed the same day !...with no evidence of the trenches, piles of dirt, stone and high-tech equipment that covered our yard earlier. They made sure that the landscape was returned to it's original state and that the new plumbing worked beautifully. Matt is calm and considerate...with no fuss...no stress...just the real thing. He and his team are very hard workers and we recommend Viking Plumbing highly to all of you. Kate L. read more

I had a clogged sewer pipe so I looked up plumbers on yelp and found A list of plumbers. After calling multiple company's and getting no answer, I was getting frustrated until I called Torkelson Plumbing and talked to the owner Matthew. He informed me he was pretty busy due to it being a Sunday, but would make time due to my situation. He even offered a free inspection on all my drain pipes. When he arrived it took about 30 minute to get the drain flowing. When he was done with the snake he showed us the problem with a camera and it was bad. We had a jungle growing in our sewer. He gave us a few options some more permanent then others. At the end we decided to replace the sewer line. It wasn't planned expense but Matthew made the experience as smooth and painless as possible. read more

I can't recommend Matthew enough. I met him when I was getting quotes to replace my main sewer line (including clay bursting the clay sewer line under my yard) and all of my old drain pipes under my house. He had the best price and did a phenomenal job. Then I hired him to renovate my guest house. In addition to handling all the plumbing (sewer, water line, gas line), Matthew also did all the framing of interior walls, complete bathroom install, kitchen cabinet install, all the electrical and lighting including recessed lights, appliance install, baseboards and trim, window install, stucco work, etc. Then I hired him to redo my entire laundry room-electrical, cabinet install, reroute all plumbing, install laundry sink. I've already referred him to a few friends too. Phenomenal work, always responds quickly, very fair prices and great guy. read more

It's great having a plumber that also does electrical work. We had Viking Plumbing out last week to install a tankless water heater. There price was fair and they were very knowledgeable. Thanks Viking Plumbing! read more
