I was in the area on a random Friday, and saw this coffee place was open - lucky me that I didn't know they only open Thu-Sat - quite surprise to see 6-7 people before me around Friday 9:30am. The place is smaller than I thought, tables are pretty close to each other, I changed my mind to sit down and work a bit. The coffee, the seasonal menu is good. I hate taste any sour in coffee, but theirs is acceptable and not impacting the experience. I am not sure if I would make an effort to come back due to its opening hour, but recommend to anyone who is closer by to try it. read more

I might be late to the party but I'm glad I showed up! How did I not know this place existed ?! Everything about my experience today showed that the owners are focused on quality. Quality coffee, quality service and quality interactions. This is not a place to visit if you're in a hurry but that's good on so many levels. The baristas and owners take their time with each customer to make sure the drinks are perfect. I was provided a description of different types of roast and didn't feel rushed while I chose from a selection of seasonal offerings. I opted for the Caramel Miso latte with macadamia nut milk (no extra charge for the milk). Such a delicious balance of slight sweetness with the savory miso and nutty milk. It was perfect. I also got a bag of beans and they ground them up right there. They have a selection of pastries that I didn't try but definitely will next time. What really stood out to me was that even though a line formed out the door, no one seemed to mind waiting and no one was annoyed when the owner stopped taking orders to come and make sure my drink and others were satisfactory. Again, a quality experience. The cafe is only open three days a week which is probably a blessing because I'd spend all my money in there every day. read more

I stopped by Vignette Coffee around 9:30am on a Thursday and had about a 15-minute wait just to place and purchase my order. The café is definitely cozy and cute, only three tables and a couch so it feels very busy during peak times. The cafe is only open Thursday-Saturday, which makes it tough to visit, but the quality makes it worth planning for. A lot of my friends who love coffee rave about the place. One of the things I really love is that they roast their coffee right there, so you're getting a super fresh, close-to-table experience and they know the story of the bean and their origins. The staff was polite and helpful when I was ordering. I got the seasonal gingerbread latte, which the staff was raving about and featured very fresh ingredients (ginger and two other ingredients that were made with love) and I chose milk from Homeland Creamery. I also grabbed a seasonal fruit tart that was from Camino Bakery in Winston-Salem, which was a perfect treat. I like that it is a local bakery too. They also allow you to bring your own cup, which I plan to do next time. I purchased a bag of coffee to make at home and was happy to get a discount, such a nice perk! I'll definitely be back. The coffee beans are WORLD class! I'm a long time decaffeinated coffee drinker. I've tried many many many coffee beans. There has never been a bean that can compare. You can taste the love, quality and dedication that has gone into the roast. From the moment you walk in you feel like you're home they take the upmost care of you when it's your turn to order. They look you in the eyes and fill you with all of the information you might have a question for. They make every drink to order their baked goods come from a local baker. Be prepared to stand in line! We went for the first time with some friends who were staying at a near by hotel. That being said, the service is great, very friendly and accommodating. I love supporting local businesses, We thought we ordered a hot chocolate for our friends daughter, but it didn't arrive with our coffee. I think I fell in love with a cup of coffee today! I stopped by here as it was the closest local coffee shop to my location. The line was out the door. I stood in line for about 25 minutes and got my coffee about 5 minutes after I ordered. It was worth every minute! Non-dairy milk is free of charge. I opted for macadamia milk. I decided on a mocha, and it was the best chocolate flavor I can remember tasting. It's 75% cocoa and blended well with the espresso and macadamia milk. This place is small inside, but they sell not just prepared coffee. They sell coffee beans, prepared tea, tea leaves, pastries from Camino bakery in WS, coffee mugs, apparel and more! After burning my tongue at a coffee shop down the street, I decided to check out Vignette. After waiting in line for an hour, I got my perfect cup - whole milk latte. It was... PERFECT. It's a smallish space, but it's well-appointed with coffee factoid posters. The baristas were welcoming and friendly. Eschewing the safety of a vanilla iced latte, I decided to roll the dice with a seasonal drink: a pineapple upside down latte. While the name alone may put some folks off, it was a surprisingly good drink. It was smooth, and the syrups (pineapple and caramel) were subtle and well-balanced. Rainy Saturday and I was running to the Asian grocery for hot pot stuff and decided to finally stop by the coffee place I pass every time I head out to this particular store. In a very unassuming industrial esk strip mall if you can call it that: when I got in it smelled amazing. The line was long for coffee, but again, raining and no desire to try another place. I waited it out and OH WAS IT WORTH IT. The line moved quickly and even if it didn't, I would have stayed knowing what I know now. I've been wanting to find a place to get top-notch espresso that doesn't require me going into downtown and having to navigate crowds / limited parking / etc. Located on the west side of Greensboro, the shop is part of what looks like a strip mall. (This was actually a huge green flag for me, as most of my favorite indie coffee shops seem to all be located in spots exactly like this one.) There is plenty of free, easy-to-access parking outside, which is always appreciated. The space inside is intimate: very small, but warm and inviting. It was somewhat crowded with a line when I arrived, but honestly? The communal energy of the space (cultivated by the barista behind the bar and the other customers) made the wait a non-issue for me. When I made my way up to the bar and ordered an oat milk latte, the barista was so kind, and placed a strong focus on gentle, genuine connection with each and every customer he interacted with. It was really lovely. The latte was delicious, and I was able to pair it with vanilla almond biscotti from one of my favorite local bakeries: Camino Bakery over in Winston Salem. To top everything off, they roast their own coffee in-house, and even offer tastings and educational / learning opportunities for the community on a regular basis. There's an assortment of branded merch available, which would make this a wonderful place to bring someone from out of town, or to pick up a Greensboro-esq gift for someone. We finally made it to @vignettecoffeeroasters I've been wanting to come in for a while now. Everything looks so good and I love the clever logos and artwork. It's very cool that they are a coffee roaster for the area with limited hours of service as a cafe and tasting room. Our electricity went out at home after a night of freezing winds so it kick started me into getting up and getting out for some hot liquid gold. I cannot say enough good things about the service. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. Hubs flew in at 1am and was exhausted. They took the time to find a special hot tea for him and simple and substantial breakfast pastry from @caminobakery. I ordered the Maple Ginger Oat Latte and a blueberry cream cheese danish. Everything was so tasty and we sat in the warm cafe for a long while avoiding the freezing winds. We watched the barista kneel and give a pour demonstration to some young children as we sat and sipped. The cafe was warm, casual, family-friendly and bright with a large gender-neutral bathroom. 4/13/24. I discovered this tasting room/roaster last year and I now drive from High Point to Greensboro almost every weekend to get a latte from them! The owners are some of the nicest and most patient people you may ever meet. No matter how long the line is, they keep their cool and help you choose the drink you never knew you needed. They also have excellent drinking chocolates that you can add espresso to for an up charge. My favorite is smoke and spice (molasses). I finally broke down and ordered a matcha. One of their seasonal drinks is a mango matcha. Loved it! The matcha (Kettl brand) is a gorgeous vibrant green and contrasts well against the tropical orange mango. The little bits of mango you get here there as you sip on this drink are a nice treat. Going to miss this one but can't wait to see what their next creations are! read more

Vignette is my favorite shop in Greensboro, and not just because they're just around the corner from my house. I'd given up on truly excellent espresso drinks on our side of town (Guilford College), but our first outing to Vignette in late July was so lovely that it made me excited about coffee again. Michael poured me the absolute best flat white I've had in my life, and poured my wife an incredible iced latte with their house made caramel syrup. The drinks were so good that I went back to the cafe less than an hour later to buy a bag of their beans to brew at home, and it's become our Saturday morning date spot whenever we can make it. Since then, I've been through several bags of their fantastic Colombia Alto de la Estrella at home, and I'm working my way through a bag of their Brazil Irmãs Pereira right now that I may like even more. I really can't say enough good about the things Michael and Mandy are doing out of thier little cafe and roastery on Market St. We love being their neighbors, and we hope they're around for years to come. read more
