This place is absolutely amazing. If you are a coffee snob like myself you have to visit FosterHobbs Coffee. The owner, Mike, was there and he was absolutely amazing. He was very friendly and very personable. You can tell he absolutely loves his city and coffee. He was just phenomenal. Several regulars stopped in and he knew them by name. They were equally as excited and praised his coffee. They had me super excited and glad that I stopped by. He does not sell prepared coffee drinks in the shop, but did recommend local bakeries and cafes that did. BTW, Dots & Pearls was one he recommended and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! He sales coffee beans. This is a roastery, so you're getting fresh roasted beans from some of the most notable coffee regions in the country. It is awesome. I purchased a bag of Sumatra dark roast and a big bottle of chai concentrate. My partner said the chai is delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend that you stop by and chat it up with the owner and of course purchase some high quality coffee. I definitely cannot wait to come back to High Point. He was very friendly and asked many questions to make sure I got the right beans for my taste and my espresso machine. I didn't get a cup of coffee today, but I got a cup of sunshine!! This coffee roaster became a distribution only site once the pandemic hit. They adapted and made it work. They DO sell bags of beans to the general public. You can pick some up for you or as a gift here. The owners weren't slow to explain each cafe and restaurant from which I could find a cup of Foster Hobbs coffee served up to me nice and hot. They were so friendly! I was given a mini coffee lesson and watched some beans roasting as we spoke, trying to stay focused while the dark roast coffee smells wafted towards me. Yum. This is high quality coffee. They are in the top 1-3%, Specialty grade coffee (better than Starbucks) and the coffee is grown in a way that is environmentally sustainable. I will be off to try their coffee at Dot and Pearl Coffee and Pastries in High Point, @blackdog.homecafe in High Point, and @highpointbagels I discovered that I have already had their coffee @cupcakecuties PS - they said that their Pumpkin spice coffee is buttery. Seating is limited here, and your beverage choices are hot or iced. That said, if you are looking to buy beans or just want a cup of better-than-average coffee, FosterHobbs is definitely worth your time. The owners, Mike and Pam, are knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, and Pam is also very friendly. She will customize a cup of coffee to your liking and can fill you in on the characteristics of a given roast. There are plenty of coffeeshops in the area, but there are no roasteries that are as discerning yet approachable as this one. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place!! They have amazing coffee and a wide variety. The owners and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are very affordable, especially for the amount of coffee beans/ grounds and quality. You can even order online, but I'd highly recommend going in-person just for the experience with the people. My personal favorite is the hazelnut and I use it in my espresso machine, it's amazing! This place is more for buying coffee beans. However you can get a great cuppa coffee that's extremely fresh. Like watch the Beans being roasted in front of you and experience the whole process brewing a cup of coffee. It was like. $2.15 with tax. It was amazing. If you like coffee you must come here... you don't have to drown the coffee with milk and sugar to feel good drinking this. Again can I tell you how friendly the people are?!? (5 stars is for their beans) Their hours of business (11-3?) and location (side street) can be a challenge. Wonderfully kind owners, super welcoming and super knowledgeable about their beans-- so worth the trip and the weird hours. The beans themselves are just outstanding and they are roasted to perfection. I'd say comparable to Counterculture or Carrboro Coffee Roasters beans (for those of you who are local) as far as quality. Hate to speak ill of anyone, but MUCH, MUCH better than Beansboro. Honestly, when I find out a coffee shop uses Beansboro beans, I just walk away-- tastes like burnt water. We use their Redhead beans for french press and Sumatra for espresso at home. I think they have an espresso blend as well, but I thought the Sumatra made better espresso personally. By the way, this isn't a coffee house, it's a roaster. So if you are looking for somewhere to hang out and drink espresso, 32 eastmain coffee house in Thomasville, NC uses FosterHobbs beans and makes an excellent latte. read more

Enjoyed my first cup of coffee this morning from the pound of their blend of coffee that I purchased yesterday afternoon. Ground the beans just before having and French Pressed it. Delicious. Got to me the owners and they were really nice. The Roaster/owner Mike gave me some coffee tips which I really appreciated. Will be back. read more

Their location might be a problem being off the beaten path to easily be noticed. I saw it a few times on my way to pick up my mail and finally took the time to stop. The coffee is great and they can guide you to whatever your tastes favor. I encourage you to try it out! read more
