The bánh cuốn chả lụa is decent. DON'T get the bánh mì đặc biệt (sandwich combo). When I brought it home it was only meat and soy sauce w the pickle veggies. No pate and No butter. I called the store and they said to go to Banh Mi Ba Le if I wanted pate. Viet bánh mì always come w pate and butter. Not sure why it was not included. read more

Amazing tofu shop that has the appearance of a hole in a wall. They sell other Vietnamese food such as banh xeo and yogurt, but come for the tofu. The fried tofu is delectable and is the best that Arlington has to offer in terms of quality. It doesn't matter what kind of tofu: Fried, soft, firm, etc. You can't go wrong with any of the tofu choices. However, the yogurt was okay and the Vietnamese pandan dessert was icky. The pandan dessert ended up being thrown out because it was tasteless and had very little peanut filling inside. The dessert options are scarce and mediocre with the exception of the fried sesame balls. No seating inside. Come and go with any orders that you make. Parking is not an issue, and there's an Asian market next door too. read more

Viet tofu has a really great selection of various Vietnamese snacks/food. I always get the meat-free eggrolls from here! They have sesame balls as well and these are always nice and hot/fresh. I think the price has increased recently a bit but I still enjoy the food so I will still be coming back. Cash only establishment. I didn't understand their value until I became vegetarian. I can pick up my vegetarian eggrolls, assorted fried tofu (plain, mushroom, and lemongrass), refrigerated tofu in the fridge (bittermelon and lemongrass). I can also many types of desserts. My favorite is the tofu pudding with ginger syrup which is sweet but not too sweet. If I'm in Arlington, I find it suuuuuuuuupper hard not to stop by. read more

Hooray! This place is back on my radar! I don't know what happened but it's definitely a change for the better! You gotta try their Banh Xeo. They're basically crunchy crepes filled with shrimp,pork, and bean sprouts. You wrap a chunk in lettuce and dip it in nuoc mam and enjoy! An order comes with two large crepes for $5. It can feed two people for sure. It's really good because they make it to order so they come out nice and crispy. It's a little greasy but damn tasty. You gotta give it a try! Everything else is pretty darn enjoyable too. I haven't had anything bad the last few trips so I'm not scared of this place anymore. I do suggest that you make sure everything you buy is warm to the touch (that means it's fresh)- just to be safe. Their silken tofu is up to par and their sweet rice is normal again. I frequent this shop many years now. Not sure if it's new owner or not, but last couple times, it's been very disappointing. I normally like to get the tofu with pork, which they don't have. Then I like to get the sesame balls with the red bean paste. But the last few I've had were hard, and definitely not fresh. But even if you microwave it, the inside filling had no flavor. I'm not sure why they would skip sugar as it's not that expensive of an ingredient. I also like to get the fried egg rolls, which again were not fresh as it tasted like it's been sitting for some time. Then today, my wife told me her friend who went there this week for bahn mi had food poisoning. It's unfortunately that this place has gone the hill. I know few years ago it was closed down, then reopen with new owner. Maybe it's time again for some fresh management to clean up this place. Until then, I will start going elsewhere. read more

$2.50 bahn mi?! Pretty great deal. They have a large variety of tofu-related items as well as other Vietnamese foodstuffs. Everything is pretty cheap. You can get plain freshly-made blocks of tofu, or prepared ones on the hot buffet table (fried, stuffed, etc.). I love coming here for snacks and trying new things. We often pick up a bunch of their Vietnamese zongzi (stuffed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves). They have dou hua, which is a soupy pudding-like dessert made of very soft tofu. We got three large cups for $5. You can also get dou jiang, or soy milk, in the fridge either pre-sweetened or unsweetened. Note, it's cash only, and don't expect the person at the front to speak much English. You can expect full bellies and happy wallets though! read more

The red (or green) bean balls are rolled in sesame seeds before being fried to a golden brown--perfect combination of crusty and chewy and lightly sweet. I give this place 5 stars for their prices and quality of food. I bought their special chicken for 5$ and banh cuon for 4$. The portion size is huge and there are tons of selections. The tofu that they specialize for is delicious and there egg rolls is off the chain. You can get eggs rolls 3 for 1$ and tofu 6 for 1$. Can't beat that. So many things to buy here. They have the most delicious tofu & ginger sauce! I also love their soybean drink. I prefer to get a jug of the unsweet and a jug of the sweet soybean and then mix it half and half. The sweet is too sweet and the unsweet is too bland. I love coming here for spring rolls and pre made tofu. They have lots of different tofu dishes in the cooler and they are all delicious. I like the lemongrass tofu and the shredded tofu and radish. I think the store can seem a little intimidating for people unfamiliar with the language but most of the time the employees will let you know what stuff is. It's not all about the tofu at Viet Tofu. It's also a Vietnamese take out place. You can buy premade dishes like stir fried noodles, grill meats with rice, banh mi (the vietnamese baguette) and many, many vegetarian items in the cooler. Awhile back, when I was on a meat less diet, I'd pick up a couple of boxes of their fried lemongrass tofu with red peppers and garlic. I'd take it home and make some jasmine white rice and call it a meal. If it's tofu you're wanting, they've got the regular soft uncooked tofu and then there's the several varieties of the fried tofu. If you're lucky, you'll come during the time when they've made banh cong, which are deep fried donut rings made with rice flour and drizzled with hard caramelized sugar. They also make soy milk from scratch. They come sweetened or unsweetened with pandan flavor or plain. Yes, we Vietnamese sometimes iike our soymilk flavored and sweet. I'm not a big fan of their che, which is a dessert bar with an array of sweetened jellies and tapioca usually served with crushed ice and coconut milk. I am, however, a big fan of their soft tofu with ginger syrup. They serve it warm here but I like to take it home and chill it for a while. Soooo good for when it's hot outside. Get this! Their parking lot smells like urine and there was trash right in front of the door. Upon entering, a guy just looked at us without bothering to greet us. To make matters worse, there were flies around the buffet area! Ugh! Sure, there was tofu for sale, but the slime coating the floor, along with an oily cardboard box near the food cart made impossible for me to stomach the idea of actually eating anything.
