Food-Excellent (5). A pleasant surprise. We are experienced Vietnamese diners so we simply compared our experience with Viet Taste. We don't expect exactly the same dishes and were not disappointed in freshness, quantity, and uniqueness. Viet Taste has its own, I believe, interpretation of some mainline traditional dishes and we found them delicious and interesting. Midweek lunch for two that included two appetizers and two main dishes with water to drink cost about $50. There was enough left over for another meal. Service - Good (3). Pleasant and effective. Timing on service was unpredictable. Appetizers served after mains for example. Diners who arrived long after us were served before us. Yes, it may be that dishes are delivered when ready, but there was no messaging about delays. Ambiance - (1) needs work. Overgrown plants, unkempt sidewalk in front, and a grimy restroom with no paper towels were signs that some maintenance was needed. The entire space has the potential to offer a much better experience given size and furnishings. See photo of bathroom light switch plate. Next time we may opt for takeout. Stopped by for lunch . I was just going to grab some pho and take it with me. I decided to eat there instead. I ordered the meatball pho . It was good and came with some basil and shoots. The service was friendly. The biggest negative is how filthy the restaurant is. As I looked around it got nastier and nastier. Don't touch the walls and don't dare touch the picture frames on the walls. I'm kind of sorry I ate inside. I did order chicken pad Thai and fried wontons to go. I can't complain about the food but would not want to look around the kitchen if it looks like the front of the house. read more

Nice spot for Vietnamese cuisine locally. Not many choices in the area for this cuisine, and they do it well. Pho broth is decent and Saigon crepes are good. Atmosphere is basic, but that is not uncommon for Salisbury as I'm discovering. read more

Place is pretty outdated. You can always tell how clean a restaurant is by the condiments on the table. Condiments don't look like they've been cleaned in weeks so didn't even touch it. The level of hesitance as I approached a viet restaurant in Salisbury was no joke - BUT I was pleasantly surprised. I got the banh xeo which I honestly thought was going to turn out terrible but it was good! Not super crunchy but definitely still enough crunch and flavor for me to keep coming back for the banh xeo alone. Only Vietnamese restaurant in Salisbury and thankfully it's good. Their Pho is very good and the Lemongrass dishes are good as well. The spring roll and shrimp skewer appetizers are very tasty. I would give 5 stars, but they need to improve their timing. Usually, there is only one person serving so you have to be willing to wait if you dine in. They do the best they can and I understand that there is a shortage of workers. If they hire a few servers and clean the place up a bit, they could go from good to great! The food is very good! The atmosphere is a little dated but all the best pho places usually are. I would say it's some of the best pho/viet food in Maryland, however, you can never get it! The hours posted both online and on their door are incorrect. They stop answering the phone at what feels like 6 PM, and the other week I went in at 7 PM to grab take out on a night where the sign said "closes at 8:30" and they told me they were closed. If you can somehow win the lottery that is finding them during impossible open hours the food is sensational. Seems like anytime you would want pho they are closed. read more

I liked the food here but service was inconsistent and a little rude. I came here with a large group, and we called ahead to make a reservation. When we arrived, it's a seat yourself ordeal, but all of the tables had dirty dishes and trash on them. We approached the waiter, who was flustered, said they were really busy (there were like two other customers...), and told us to come back in an hour because for such a large group without a reservation, they couldn't accommodate us at that time. Note that it was also an off hour (after 2pm). *stares blankly* We. Did. Make. A. Reservation. Once we cleared that up, the waiter told us it would take him 30 minutes to clear the tables, and to come back later. *stares blankly* Fortunately, the owner came out, said she was expecting us, and started clearing the tables right away. Then the grumpy waiter came back to take our orders. I think he was having a bad day. We asked if we could do separate checks, and at first he said no - but he could do it in groups. But then we mentioned the Yelp deal, and he changed his mind and told us that ringing us up individually would be easier for him. (There's a $20 minimum for the Yelp check-in deal, so individually you really can't get the discount - this was made clear when we went to pay.) After we ordered and when he was bringing out the food, he was nicer, but towards the end of the meal, he got grumpy again. I ordered the Grilled Pork which came with a scoop of rice and some veggies (cucumbers and tomatoes, which are technically fruit). The pork was flavorful, but the portions were small. For $10, it's not a good value. There seemed to be some issues in the kitchen, because our table had missing orders. A few dishes weren't brought out until most of us were already done eating. The waiter's explanation: "Sometimes the chef doesn't feel like cooking the orders..." *stares blankly* For those that ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee (which was super sweet and nobody in my group liked it), the tray of drinks sat on the counter for a long time because the staff got distracted. After waiting and waiting for them to remember, someone from our group finally got up, went to the counter and grabbed the tray of drinks for self-service. Again, maybe the waiter and kitchen staff were just having an off day. But based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups. This might be one of the few Vietnamese offerings in Salisbury, hence it's average 4-star rating, but in DC, there's better value and better service. Some may even say better food. read more

Took about 10 minutes before the lady brought over menus and took orders of drinks. Both of them are very friendly, but they need to hire someone to help with waiting. The food was decent, had salty fish, lotus roots and shrimp salad, vermicelli grilled pork dish, and spicy beef noodle soup. They can do some good cleaning of the tables and condiment containers. GrubHub is no good with refund. 1st time: I ordered 4 units of vegetarian curry tofu. Received the orders with meat. 2nd time: Ordered 4 units of vegetarian vurry tofu again. Received only one. Let me start off by saying, it's not even that clean in here. I sat in a booth and there were spiderwebs and dust all over the window. Not only that, but someone walked in, who I assumed worked there as he greeting the waitress casually, was sitting in a different booth with his shoes off just on his phone for a good while. The crispy noodles had came out super quick and tasted ok, but the odd thing was the sauce on the crispy noodles was a weird brown color. Normally when I get this dish anywhere else, the sauce is an opaque color. My boyfriend didn't really like it much, and it is definitely a dish to be shared. I had gotten the rice noodles, it came out rather late compared to my boyfriends dish. The grilled shrimp and beef had great taste, the pork was alright, the picked veggies tasted like a quick pickle and didn't have much flavor, and the fish sauce it came with barely had flavor.
