Now that we've tried both places for Pho in Dover, I wanted to post a review of Pho Viet. I recommend this place for its cute atmosphere, decent service, and good food. Parking is a little weird if you don't get one of the spots in the front because you have to go around to the back to park and then walk around again to the front to get into the restaurant. We ended up circling the parking lot and coming back to the front to park . Once inside the restaurant, it has a nice vibe, but does not feel like a hole in the wall Vietnamese place. We were seated quickly, and the service was decent. We both ordered P1 pho specials and they were very good. To me the broth was a touch too sweet but I think that might just be because I'm not a fan of sweet things. The broth was good and had a depth of flavor that was delicious. We hit Pho viet on our way home from vacation. We were somewhat exhausted and looking for a somewhat safe choice while also wanting to try somewhere new. It was a tough combo to fill, but one that Pho viet was able to deliver on. We arrived towards the end of the lunch rush and were seated quickly. Service was friendly and gave us space to check out the menu while also making sure we had what we needed. You could tell they were busy (and maybe a bit understaffed) but they did not let it bother them. We actually started with an app (the summer rolls with sausage) prior to ordering our mains. This dish checked the similar but unique feel as I've had plenty of summer rolls, but this might have been the first with a Vietnamese sausage instead of shrimp. Tasty! From there, we got both the pho and lemongrass soup - both hit the spot. Nothing fancy, but they delivered. Pho viet is a bit too far for me to become a regular, but I would make it a point to visit should I be in the area again. I recommend! read more

This is a place I've driven past so many times and never stopped by, and I'm kicking myself for not coming in sooner. What a great place to get lunch! Excellent Pho, great bubble tea, their bao was light and airy. I was delighted that there's a place in Dover to get my pho fix. For those who seem to not be aware, pho is a customizable experience. They bring jalapeños, bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lime out with your soup so you can add what you like to your soup. The base soup itself is light and refreshing. There are condiments at the table, soy sauce, hoisin, and chili oil, so you can make your broth as heavy, salty, and spicy as you desire. Pho itself is not a rich dish. It's what you craft it to be, which is why it's so universal. Someone can get a vegan option and have it be light and bright, and someone else can get bees tripe and have it be heavy and spicy. Pho is what you make it. And Pho viet provides and a great place for you to make it great! Very good pho. !!! The spring rolls were very bland and I have always gotten pickled daikon and carrots on the side with those with a. Rice vinegar dip and so this was slightly different. The fried rice was good, no veggies really in it just egg taste but good. The pork was good so I was told. Overall solid spot for pho! I would definitely come back for it!! I asked for some extra onions cause there wasn't much in the broth. The chicken in it was bland, I've had lemongrass chicken grilled that has been in pho and by the look of the chicken in this pho you could tell it was going to be flavorless but the broth makes up for all the flavor!! This was our first time here and we will be back. When we went it was quite busy for 3pm so we were excited about that. First we ordered the egg rolls appetizer for $5.00. They were alright but kind of bland. You get 4 with an order and they are quite small. My husband ordered the chicken banh mi for $9.00 and I ordered the Med. Flank steak brisket Pho for $9.00. They do offer a military discount so we really appreciated that as well. My husbands sandwich was good. The bread was so soft and pillowy and was filled with fresh vegetables. For $9.00 it was a good size and he felt it had good flavor. I on the other hand got the Pho. When it arrived I thought they accidentally gave me a large instead of the Med. I ordered but I was quickly reassured that this was in fact a med. It came with the normal plate of toppings and additional sauces on the side like chili oil, sriracha and hoisin sauce. I added all of my goodies and dug in. The first bite was of the noodles that were tender yet still had texture to them and the rich broth. It was well balanced perfectly seasoned and rich tasting. You only get a few slices of steak so that was a bummer but you get so many noodles you will not leave hungry. Hate to be negative but we came here to sit down and it was pretty tasty. Especially the spicy beef noodle. So I placed an order to go to try out their Pho, and man oh man it was extremely tasteless with very little meat for the combo special. I am assuming it was missing some sauce also. The little meat that was included was too cartilage-y to eat or chew. More than anything was the extreme lack of flavor and presentation for a 18$ soup. My suggestion is to look at the Togo orders to make sure they are up to par before packaging them. My family who are the Pho lovers, now say they don't want pho ever again as it gave them the icks. Anyways, i have returned with some friends for dinner and ordered similar things we ordered last time. I got the crab rangoons for appetizers. Perfectly fried and crispy with plenty of filling inside. Dipping sauce was just alright, typical sweet and sour type sauce. I got the steak pho again which came with slices of flank steak (pretty decent amount) noodles and all the fixings for your pho. Again the broth smelled great and tasted pretty good. You get a good size pho for the money you pay for! I liked the broth but felt like something was missing. Comparative to other pho places I been to in DC/NOVA this place is alright. A good place to get your pho fix when Dover is lacking food diversity. Overall we all enjoyed our food/ambiance of the place. Wait staff was also very pleasant as well. Dropped by for a late lunch. Ordered pho (P1) on the menu, large size. Out comes what I would call a trough, big enough for me and 3 of my closest friends. Their stock is really flavorful, rice noodles with just a bit of bite; absolutely wonderful . Accompanied with a Vietnamese iced coffee. To die for. In retrospect I think the dish took on gigantic proportions partly because it was served by a waitress that was barely 5 ft talk. An, it was huge on its own. This is a decent pho place for being in the middle of Dover! The portions are really big. I ordered a medium seafood pho, and it honestly seemed like a large size. They give you plenty of noodles and broth. The broth itself was pretty alright; however, I would say that I've had tastier pho in DC/RVA. The pho here was still satisfying though especially since it is hard to find decent/authentic ethnic foods around Dover. The only thing is that the egg rolls were a little bland. Great place to eat Vietnamese in Dover! One would not know that this hidden place is a gem. We had the beef pho, grilled pork spring roll and beef banh mi. All were excellent and flavorful. The pho did not need additional seasoning as the broth permeated the noodles and the slices of beef. It was well portioned. The sandwich tasted of fresh french baguette, beef was well seasoned and just the right amount of mayo sauce and veggies. The spring roll was delightfully refreshing. I come here so frequently with my boyfriend that we always forget to take a picture of our food. This is my favorite pho spot in all of Delaware. They really have it spot on with the broth. It is beefy but it has a hint of sweetness to it as well. Compared to past restaurants pho's I've had, I barely put any sauces (hoisin and sriracha) to enhance the flavor of the broth. I really just sip it by itself because it's that flavorful! They have great spring rolls, I love their rice and pork dish, and they also have vietnamese coffee! I just ordered the pineapple fried rice. After the first forkful, my stomach did a flip. Surely not thinking I was going to be sick off of a small forkful, I ate 2 more forkfuls and up came the contents of my stomach. Never eating here again. My family ordered something different. This is, admittedly, a harsh rating, especially for a place that has a few decent dishes and other positive points. But I am a big believer that the true test of the quality of a restaurant is how they deal with problems. My husband ordered Lemongrass Chicken and got a beef dish. Since my food arrived at the same time, he didn't want to say anything and tried to eat it as I was eating my lunch. He pronounced it inedible ("I wouldn't serve this to a dog") So, I went up to the counter and told a server what had happened. nothing... Another server came to take my Pho for carry out packaging and I noticed when she brought the bag, that there was a box in addition to the soup container and I (naiively) thought how nice that they boxed up my husband's dish. wrong...it was just the noodles from the soup. Then, I messaged the owner (and received a response that they had received my message) Any attempt to correct the issue would have been welcome: a coupon, a free drink, even an apology. nothing... We eat out every day and we are very generous in our spending/tips etc. But we are also choosy both in terns of food quality and business ethics. This is a place we will not patronize. read more
