Well, this was a nice surprise. Where can you get a good meal for under $20, here checks the box for sure. Service was decent, I mean there's a single server so you can't expect light speed. The food came out in a reasonable time, generally all good on this front. Lets talk Ambiance, I mean its a clearly casual restaurant. The music is low enough you can have a conversation if you want to, but not so low thet if you're dining alone you feel like you're trapped with your thoughts so that's nice. lets hit food now, I got a pretty simple massuman curry and a Thai iced tea both of which were lovely. The curry was just the right level of spicy and sweet, warmed me up on a cold day. The rice accompanying it was fluffy and wonderful. Then there's the iced tea which was simply delicious. My husband and I were visiting Dover for a business trip. We needed to find a good place. I wanted to trust local Yelper's ratings so I chose this place. Only few tables but decent space. The interior did not look the best but I wanted to. We ordered two appetizers (fried wontons and chicken wings) and two entrees (beef Pad See Ewe and beef drunken noodle). First, fried wontons were very low quality with unexpected filling. I'm not sure if it was cheese and/or bacon. Chicken wings were.. just okay but seasoned with curry powder? I think. I'm sorry to say but both entrees were definitely short cut. Heavy on the carbs but very small amount of protein and veggies. My big turnoff was wrong type of noddles which was not cooked thoroughly and crunchy carrot. All made me confused. Their service was nice though. I can tell it was ran by a family. Overall, it would be hard for me to recommend to others. Not an authentic place to believe that it's a good Thai food. read more

First time here, we loved it all! Hubby, best friend and I were craving Thai. Fairly new to the area, we searched on Yelp and found this absolute gem in Dover. Lovely and charming owner made us feel like regulars and took wonderful care of us. We shared the chicken satay, curry puffs, chicken and coconut soup, yellow curry with tofu, pad Thai with pork, and chicken in peanut sauce. wonderful flavors, generous portions...we all loved everything. The "basil" chicken and "basil pork" have almost no basil in them!! I went back to the restaurant to complain to the owner. She said that basil costs $6 per pound, so that is why there is so little basil in the basil chicken and basil pork! Extra basil might cost her another ten cents! I think that she should either raise the price ten cents, or stop calling it "basil" chicken. I just can't believe that this place would call a dish "bail chicken" or "bail pork", but then admit that there is almost no basil in it! My Meal was so disappointing that I can't consider eating at this place again. The sauce had flavor but was very thin. My "dinner" contained about 3 ounces of chicken and very few veggies. So, if you have read any of my past posts, I am temp-disabled and any of the reviews that I have posted, are delivered. Though I look for restaurants that are different, I am limited to what is nearby; whether I can have it delivered, or asking someone to pick it up. So, there are very few that I like, and even fewer, that I have given 4/5 stars. So, when my pallet said it wanted Thai, I almost guffawed to myself..."do you really? Do you remember where you live???" But, it was a strong craving, and I decided to bite the bullet and try this place. When younger, my family moved a lot, and with each move my pallet has changed. Originally from DC/MD we moved to CO. There a lot of the cuisine were either Traditional, Soul, but a TON of Mexican. So, my parent's church was the English ministry to a Spanish church. When we would go out to dinner (which we did maybe a couple times a year), it was at some sort of Mexican restaurant. There weren't that many restaurants, well, I didn't eat out a lot. However, with us affiliating a lot with Mexicans at our church, they would make A LOT fo Mexican food; I promise I gained quite a bit of weight while I ate it, happily! Then, since I didn't eat out that much, I learned to cook some of it. So, we left CO, and moved to WA, and that was ANOTHER eye-opener. There were so many different nationalities, and then many, MANY more foods, ESPECIALLY, cultural. They had: Russian, Hawaiian, Samoan, Philippino, Ethiopian, Greek, Indian, and most of all, Asian!!!!! Tons and tons, and did I mention TONS of Asians with ALL of their cuisines. I didn't know what to do with myself, what do I eat...do I try...??? At one point, I started planning dinners w/ friends and we would have family style meals at various restaurants, it allowed you to try new things, and to find out if you like them, or not. Oh, how I loved experimenting...There were Asian restaurants on every corner; seriously. If you didn't like one restaurant, you could find another one, that was 10 times better, and you didn't have to go far. So, it was readily available. Asian food was harder for me to cook (took too much time), so I would either go to a restaurant, or to an international market, where I could find a hot meal, but the store's version. Then when I first became ill, my caregiver would cook and prepare meals for me; she's Korean. She would make me meals that were Korean infused, and I loved it!!!!!!! She would get me fruit and all that jazz from the market, and it was similar to manna from Heaven. So, when we moved to Dover, my jaw dropped. Normally you say, "I went to this place, and went thru a type of culture shock." However, here, I say the "lack thereof!' So, when my tongue was request Thai, I am thinking about Dover, and my brain is saying, NOOOOO!" Dover may have good spots, but down here, in the "sticks..." they do not! I I can't tell you how much I miss the food in WA! I have meals that I know that I like, but take too long to cook, and if it not cooked, it was Sashimi (NO thank you!). So, with one part of me wanting Thai, I was scared. I mean, I have tried restaurants around here and lemme tell you, NO BUENO! But, I gave in to my belly's wants and searched. I found this place. So, I am wary of ordering, but I do it. I figured, I will order a simple meal. If they can get the simple meal right, I will consider coming back. So, simple for me is Pad Thai (beef) and fried dumplings. I would like to say, I was amazed!!! Let's start from the beginning, they were quick, when I got the food it was hot and it was fresh. I looked at the dumpling, and it was fried like I liked and the Pad Thai was not greasy!!! Thank God. I had some special requests, and they fulfilled them. Pad Thai - the meat was fresh, and juicy, as the peanuts they gave plenty but not too many, the noodles were cooked just right, and were not congealed together. The flavors were blended very nicely, I wasn't tasting any one thing separately; they were all working together to make me happy...Yum! They did not have mush and they gave NICE portion sized. After eating the meal, I decided to leave this review. I would definitely recommend friends, Yelpers, and anyone else that is looking for a decent Thai restaurant, to try Bangkok. Seriously, impressed. i will be back, I will try something different, and be a little more adventurous. Right now, I have pleased both my pallet and my tummy... Thanks Bangkok. This place is my go-to for Thai takeout. I have ordered here countless times. The food is always consistently good and I have never been disappointed. We have never dined in so I can't speak to the tableside service but take out orders are always prepared quickly. We ordered dinner last night and it was wonderful as usual. We had the pad thai with chicken, red curry with chicken, pad see ewe with chicken and 2 orders of our absolute favorite, the fresh garden rolls. Portions are generous and everything was delicious and fresh. My family ate until we couldn't eat any more and there was still a ton of food left over - and it was just as good today for lunch! There aren't many restaurants local to me in Dover that receive my repeat business but I will continue to go to Bangkok Thai Cuisine when I need a delicious dose of tasty comfort food! read more

Stopped in for lunch. The lunch special choices are good. Especially for $9.95. The specials come with a small bowl of tasty chicken and rice soup. I ordered the drunken noodles with pork. The dish was well seasoned and a nice portion. For an appetizer we ordered the fried tofu. The tofu was nicely fried and very creamy inside. A tasty peanut, honey dipping sauce accompanied the tofu. One of the few new places I've tried that I actively want to go back to - this restaurant is inconspicuous from the outside as it's part of a strip mall. However, inside it's tastefully decorated with lots of mirrors which make it seem spacious. They do not like to pump the a/c, which makes it a bit painful to order soup. The food is all tasty but a little bit diluted in terms of heat, spice, etc. for the typically scared person's bland palate. I am sure they'll crank it up if I remember to ask next time. Despite these few criticisms, I have no plans to stop coming back here. First and most importantly, they have thai iced tea AND COFFEE. The best. Second, the menu is extensive and includes catfish, duck, and some other less commonly used proteins. You can also get the standard chicken/pork/tofu of course. All the well known thai dishes are available like pad thai, drunken noodles, and red curry, but also things like pad see ew and lad na, two of my favorites which are somewhat harder to find. Service is also really friendly and quick and they have lunch specials for $8 which seem to be the same size as entree portions. Awesome. read more

Very clean and staff are very friendly. Nice atmosphere. We had Drunken Noodles and Thai Basil shrimp. The Thai Basil shrimp arrived with rice shaped as a flower. Very nice touch! The sauce for this dish is the best I have had. Slightly sweet with a strong flavor of Thai Basil - perfectly done. Shrimp cooked to a nice, crisp, texture. All of the vegetables were cooked to maintain the fresh color, flavor, and still a touch of crispness. Highly recommend this dish. The drunken noodles had plenty of the Thai Basil and a nice sauce. Noodles cooked to the proper texture. Vegetables were perfect. The reason for the four stars was the chicken was over-cooked. Slightly tough and dry. Dish was very good except for this one negative. I think they might have changed hands (again.) The lunch special is soup, a curry or pad thai, other choices such as green papaya salad and rice. My rice was stale and reheated. The curry was thin, with five or six blah chicken slices and a few pieces of undercooked hard, inedible potato and two tiny bits of carrot. No spice. I will say, the soup was delicious if plain but the rest was awful. After paying $1.75 for a low quality green tea bag and hot water and this subpar lunch special I was out over $10 bucks (12 with tip) and I didn't have lunch after all. Skip this place. read more
