Hi K.

Viet taste Authentic Vietnamese cuisine Pho 215 North boulevard Salisbury, Maryland 21801

The level of hesitance as I approached a viet restaurant in Salisbury was no joke - BUT I was pleasantly surprised. I got the banh xeo which I honestly thought was going to turn out terrible but it was good! Not super crunchy but definitely still enough crunch and flavor for me to keep coming back for the banh xeo alone. It's served with Vietnamese basil and lettuce and you dip it into the fish sauce (which was also good). The pho was not too shabby either, came out piping hot as it should . I read some reviews about this place not being clean - while it's not spotless and a little old, it's FINE! The meaner the staff, the "dirtier" the restaurant - the yummier

If you are ever headed to Ocean City or its surrounding beaches. YOU MUST STOP here. I always swing by on the way to the beach to grab a quick bite. You will not find a better vietnamese restaurant in the area. It has such a huge selection to choose from. I have yet to be disappointed in anything I've tried. Fast friendly service. Spacious seating area. Delicious food. What more can you ask for?

I liked the food here but service was inconsistent and a little rude. I came here with a large group, and we called ahead to make a reservation. When we arrived, it's a seat yourself ordeal, but all of the tables had dirty dishes and trash on them. We approached the waiter, who was flustered, said they were really busy (there were like two other customers...), and told us to come back in an hour because for such a large group without a reservation, they couldn't accommodate us at that time. Note that it was also an off hour (after 2pm). *stares blankly* We. Did. Make. A. Reservation. Once we cleared that up, the waiter told us it would take him 30 minutes to clear the tables, and to come back later. *stares blankly* Fortunately, the owner came out, said she was expecting us, and started clearing the tables right away. Then the grumpy waiter came back to take our orders. I think he was having a bad day. We asked if we could do separate checks, and at first he said no - but he could do it in groups. But then we mentioned the Yelp deal, and he changed his mind and told us that ringing us up individually would be easier for him. (There's a $20 minimum for the Yelp check-in deal, so individually you really can't get the discount - this was made clear when we went to pay.) After we ordered and when he was bringing out the food, he was nicer, but towards the end of the meal, he got grumpy again. I ordered the Grilled Pork which came with a scoop of rice and some veggies (cucumbers and tomatoes, which are technically fruit). The pork was flavorful, but the portions were small. For $10, it's not a good value. There seemed to be some issues in the kitchen, because our table had missing orders. A few dishes weren't brought out until most of us were already done eating. The waiter's explanation: "Sometimes the chef doesn't feel like cooking the orders..." *stares blankly* For those that ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee (which was super sweet and nobody in my group liked it), the tray of drinks sat on the counter for a long time because the staff got distracted. After waiting and waiting for them to remember, someone from our group finally got up, went to the counter and grabbed the tray of drinks for self-service. Again, maybe the waiter and kitchen staff were just having an off day. But based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups. This might be one of the few Vietnamese offerings in Salisbury, hence it's average 4-star rating, but in DC, there's better value and better service. Some may even say better food.

Really good, authentic Vietnamese food. Order ahead, as they often take a while since they are understaffed.

However, despite their impressive vegetarian selections, I was told upon arriving well before closing that they did not have any rice, salad, congee, or vegetarian pho. What's left, one might ask? The answer was vermicelli noodles with chargrilled tofu. These came with some pickled carrots and daikon. The tofu grilled up fantastically and had a delicious marinade. I'm told they get a fair number of vegan customers. There's not a lot else around. The quality was there, but I'd suggest coming early as keeping food in stock seems to be a challenge. I ordered a tea with a weird artificial grape flavor but also some nice fresh grapes and boba. The place runs as 100% takeout at the moment. This is not a huge drawback as one normally does not come to remote beach islands to sit inside, and if the weather is bad you probably have a hotel. I would like to come back and see if I can find reason to given them a higher rating.

Which is wild, because I know I've taken a bunch of food pics here that I've never posted... complete waste lol. We walked in and were seated immediately and ended up getting the second-to-last available booth. Most of the room was couples on lunch dates, plus a group of friends, and later a party of about 7 took over one of the tables. Noise level was mostly moderate, with a quick sprinkle of loud when that bigger group got going, but nothing crazy, still totally fine for a date or a relaxed lunch. My wife ordered the A2 (slices of eye of round steak, well-done flank, and soft tendon). I got the A6 (eye of round steak and soft tendon). The pho was good, the broth had a lot of flavor. I did order extra noodles because while I like the pho here, the portions are a little smaller compared to some other spots we go to. I loaded mine up with bean sprouts, tore up some basil, and let the jalapeños sit in the bowl for a bit for heat. Lately though, I've been more about the chili oil, which they'll bring out if you ask. We also got shrimp summer rolls, which are always a go-to for me when eating pho anywhere. These were fresh, great texture, and the basil really pops. The peanut sauce is one of the best parts. Honestly, I could come here just for the summer rolls and that sauce. I also grabbed a taro smoothie, lightly sweet and creamy, solid choice. Food came out fast, maybe 8 minutes after ordering. Service here is consistently good. The staff is friendly, not pushy at all, and they actually check in on you without hovering. You can always get someone's attention if you need something. They even let a couple move from a table to a booth once one opened up, which I thought was a nice touch. The place itself is very clean, the tables and floors are always well kept. I don't really remember music, but there was a TV on playing college basketball. Overall vibe is relaxed. Parking can be a little tight since it's tucked behind a Rita's and the layout is kind of awkward, but even when it's full you're not walking far, just a compact lot. Price-wise, our total was about $40, but that included an extra summer roll and an extra smoothie. Without the extras, it would've been under $30. My only real critique is portion size for the price, specifically with the pho. It's not a deal breaker, but it's why this isn't my go-to spot when I'm really hungry. I'm a big guy with a big appetite -- my wife would be fine eating here any day of the week. Would I come back? Yeah. The food is good and the service is solid. For me, this is more of a quick lunch spot or a stop when I'm on the move, rather than a full dinner destination. Consistent, reliable, and never a bad choice, just depends on how hungry you are.

Keep in mind, you do have to ask for herbs (bean sprouts, Lime, Mint, and jalapeños) which is $1 extra. The tea was okay, very floral from the jasmine which kind of overtook the raspberry flavor. Our Order - 2x Pho #33 1x Garlic Lime Chick Wings 1x Raspberry Jasmine Tea Overall, it's a cute family owned Pho spot. The staff are nice and welcoming.
