I am so excited to have finally tried this pho place in ocean city. I ordered pho to good and I can speak highly for the to-go quality! The customer service was excellent, I was accommodated well for a vegan or vegetarian pho and vegetarian/vegan summer rolls, yum! The serving size was ample. Came here after a windy day at the beach and the hot soup really hit the spot! Pleasant service and open kitchen were nice. Wanting a break from seafood, my friends and I ventured out to Pho Char for a quick lunch. We ordered several bowls of pho as well as the grilled pork. The herbs were fresh and a decent amount. The pho broth was not bad but the portion sizes were pretty disappointing. There isn't much difference in volume between a large and small bowl - both left everyone feeling pretty unsatisfied. The meats are cut super thin and there were only a couple pieces. Moving on to the grilled pork dish, my friend was not happy with her meal. We all took a bite of the meat and agreed that the texture was off (sort of like chewy and gummy). Being Vietnamese myself, the flavor was not very authentic. If you're in Ocean City and sorely missing pho, this place can get the job done but don't expect too much. read more

One of my favorite places in town. I work right nearby so I typically go in before work. It's a great experience even by myself and the food comes out quick. Our family loves Pho. It's one of the few foods that all of our kids and my spouse and I all enjoy. We moved back to Maryland from the west coast 2y ago and have tried various Pho places that were very underwhelming. But we all loved Pho-Char Grill!!! The best Pho we've had since moving back east. Nice! I wanted soup on a very cold night so I and the princess agreed on PHO so open up the trusty yelp app and sure enough found "1" pho place in the whole strip. The friendly staff is not busy since nobody's in town haha. I ordered a combination of pho and spring rolls for Me and the little one .good size pho bowl. We stomped into this place by chance since this is the only Pho place in ocean city Maryland. This is our first and will be our last here. Start from our arrival, the host is polite however she was a little bit one a harsh side. We were not sure what we did wrong- maybe because we came in with a baby? Second on the food, we ordered one Vietnamese coffee, two Bowls of pho and a fried rice. The broths of pho is decent however it was a bit salty and with barely got any meat. We have had phos many times before and this place gave the least amount of meat for the hefty price tag of each bowl ( the small side costs about 15 dollars). To make things worst, its Vietnamese coffee was very diluted with barely any coffee for 7 dollars!!!. The fried rice was salty as well. Overall, this is the worst pho place we have ever had. We do not mind to paying the higher price is food tastes good and have decent of quality and ingredients/meats. This is not the place that provides you with any of that. read more

This is pretty much the Only Vietnamese place you are going to find in O.C., so here is my review: Minus: On Labor Day, I place an online order for 12:15pm pickup at 11am. We showed up and the employees looked so confused, looking at each other wondering who was supposed to be responsible for manning the online orders. The lady helping me went through my order and wanted to tell me I was wrong, except for the big red "due at 12:15pm" on her phone. I was none too happy that they started my order at pickup time and told me 5-minutes and later told me 15-20 min. Apparently, they either underestimated the volume of people that day or just don't care, because I watched 2 other carryout pickups with the same issue. 3 Pho's and 1 Salmon Teriyaki. Pho's we're decent-sized in portion. Broth seemed a bit too dark for my liking (so less natural bone broth flavoring and more MSG and additives). The salmon teriyaki was decent but more of a cross between a Caramel Claypot flavor and teriyaki than just teriyaki. You are limited to your choice of pho when in O.C. This is Def not the most affordable or tasty pho I've ever had. read more

This place has very good Pho. Regarding some of the negative reviews I have the following to offer: 1. You do have to adjust your expectations if your normal restaurant experience is typical American fare and American service. This is a Vietnamese restaurant and it makes little sense to expect people from other cultures to act like a fake American server who smiles in your face and then spits in your food. The service here was very efficient, fast and overall satisfactory. I didn't come to make friends with the waitress but that said, I did NOT consider any part of her conduct rude. She was perfectly professional and pleasant. 2. This is not a buffet. If you expect to walk out with your gut busting, you will certainly be disappointed. I went with another adult and we both left feeling full and satisfied with one small sized Pho each, and sharing the crispy spring roll. Whoever said good things come to whose who wait, must have been talking about Pho-Char Grill. We got the octopus and summer rolls for appetizers. The octopus was served cold, which wasn't explained on the menu, but it was still delicious. The summer rolls, were filled with fresh shrimp, beef and fresh herbs. The peanut sauce was perfect. I got the Combination Pho. The regular size was perfectly large and filled with meatballs, tripe, tendons and thinly sliced beef. My husband chose the spicy chicken Thai fried rice. Perfectly seasoned, topped with fresh herbs. The only disappointment was the spice factor, it just wasn't spicy enough. read more

I would give 6 stars if I could. This was the best takeout during our vacation week; better than the sushi place, better than the pizza place. We had 4 chicken pho's and 1 veggie pho for the vegan in our group. Although I didn't see it on the menu they have veggie, beef and chicken broths to choose from. The wait on a Friday night for pickup was only 15 minutes. Service person was very polite. Now to the food. I wasn't sure how a pho-to-go would work but everything we needed was included but packaged separately like the fresh basil, lime, sprouts, chicken, rice noodles. Although now I wonder what the different is between regular and large since the tupperware all looks the same. The pho is clear (not oily) and very flavorful. It's not overly seasoned with salt because I wasn't dying of thirst after finishing the soup. Plenty of meat in the dish. Came here on a Sunday for a late lunch for a group of 5 people. The restaurant is located along the coastal road inside a mall strip. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern with asian decor. The restaurant was not crowded at that time so we were seated right away. We got the crispy vietnamese spring rolls and steamed dumplings for appetizers. Our main entree was the grilled pork chops with steamed rice and vegetables! The meat was flavored well but the cut was thick so the flavor didn't really absorb through the meat! It didn't meet my expectations for vietnamese food, it missed some flavors to make it really delicious, plus the platter missed the sauce that comes with it! read more
