I wish I took pics of the food but everything was delicious! We got the dumplings, pho, and fried rice. I don't normally go for Asian food in OC but was craving something spicy and this was perfect! The staff was pleasant and everything came out super quickly. There was tons of seating with easy parking. Overall we had a great experience and I look forward to returning next time I'm in town. read more

We came here on the last day of our trip. There were 10 of us, 3 kids and 7 adults. The experience of dining there and the taste of the food we ordered were pretty much 3 stars. Literally right smack dab in the middle. We were the first customers on Monday, and were seated right away. I'm not sure if they didn't have a designated server that day, or if it was usual that they just have the hostess serving the food as well. Anyway, we sit down and were given menus. The server walks away once we sit down and we don't see her until maybe 5 minutes, and then she asks if we're ready. We are, so we all wanted water and ordered our appetizers and entrees at once. She walks away and we don't see her for another 5-7 minutes. She then brings us out waters and about 7 minutes later brings us our appetizers. We wait for about 7-10 minutes after our appetizers then our entrees were served. We ate, paid and left. The service was fine, with the exception of the wait we experienced, considering we were the only ones there and it was on Monday morning and there really wasn't much going on. Now here's the part about the food. We got four orders of the summer rolls. They tasted fine, but I'm my opinion, it was lacking. Summer rolls that I'm used to has shrimp, pork, lettuce, bean sprouts, noodles, herbs like Thai Basil or cilantro, or scallions, but their summer rolls had shrimp, noodles, and shredded lettuce. The sauce tasted ok too, but that's pretty much all I have to say about the summer rolls. Now onto the Pho. I ordered the pho with everything in it and a large. I typically order that and share that with my daughter who is 7. I asked for the bean sprouts to be cooked as well and that was brought to us. The large pho was $18, and it was barely enough for my daughter. I ended up asking for an additional order of noodles and they brought it, and I took about 3/4 of that order of noodles and gave more to my daughter. The noodles portion wasn't great for the price, and the meat in the pho wasn't great either. Luckily for me, my daughter isn't a big meat eater, but even for me, there was not enough and definitely not $18 worth of food. Now onto the broth. The broth was blanddddddd with a hint of herbs and wasn't nearly as beefy as a pho broth should taste. Target sells a boxed pho broth that has more herbs and beef taste that I'd probably prefer rather than the broth they served. I will say that it was nice that there is a Pho option in Ocean City, but I think that's the only thing they have going for them. Without any competition, if anyone around the area is genuinely craving for pho, this place will be the only option and it will suffice, but if it were up to me, I'll just skip it and wait until I head home. read more

The food was excellently deliciously scrumptious. Wait time could improve, but service was amazing. Ambiance was delicately displayed and lovely light fixtures and settings were on key. I loved how the seating arrangement was aligned in the restaurant. There is outside seating in case. read more

I am so excited to have finally tried this pho place in ocean city. I ordered pho to good and I can speak highly for the to-go quality! The customer service was excellent, I was accommodated well for a vegan or vegetarian pho and vegetarian/vegan summer rolls, yum! The serving size was ample. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt warmed by the cozy and family-style energy. I look forward to coming back here again when I return to the beach, I am so happy a cozy pho place opened by the beach! read more

Not going to write a dissertation about this place but their spicy beef Thai basil fried rice is off the hook delicious. I could eat this every day and I might. read more

The food was quite bland, and the meat in my Pho had the texture of a grilled flip-flop. Overall I wouldn't recommend this restaurant mainly due to the terrible tasting food. Also I got dumplings and they hardly had any chicken or stuffing inside of it. Lastly service was below average, not really nice and not very friendly. read more

The Large bowl of pho was in a large bowl but the amount of noodles was equal to that of a small. We ended up getting a side order of noodles. So I can only assume the large meant just more soup. Other than that, the pho was good and tasty. It would say it was definitely top 5 in regards to taste. I just wished it had more noodles. The service was fine. It is a family owned business after all. The ambiance was similar to that of a ramen restaurant. I think the place most likely was a failed ramen shop before. The service was acceptable, we were there right when they opened on a Monday morning after all. I would go back if I am in OC in the future. read more

The pho is delicious, the service wonderful and the atmosphere is clean and inviting. We've stopped in a few times now over the years when we're in the area. read more

This is NOT pho! The broth is clear and has no depth. Although the portions are ridiculously small; we still didn't finish the pho bc it was too bland. I'm still unsure what these noodles are but it's not Vietnamese pho. None of us even finished our food and was slapped with a $90 tab. read more

The portions are unbelievably small--maybe two scoops of noodles, if that. And I honestly have no idea who called this the "best pho." It was, by far, the worst pho I've ever had. We took one taste of the broth and couldn't even finish it, so we ended up walking out. Very disappointing and definitely not worth it. read more

Came here after a windy day at the beach and the hot soup really hit the spot! Pleasant service and open kitchen were nice. The fried dishes came out asap (freshly stir fried), the pho came out later but it was very hot and worth the wait. Overall a good soup base for the beef brisket and shrimp pho. A lot of shrimp in the fried rice. read more

love this place ; their food is great ; we stop by every 2 weeks to get our "fix" of pho

The "Summer Rolls" are not wrapped tightly, it's like what I do when I'm at home making them. Also, there is MAYBE 2shrimp in them yet they charge almost $9 for 2 rolls. The food isn't that flavorful BIT THIS IS LIKE THE ONLY VIET. PLACE WITHIN 40 miles. As a local, this is terrible but I understand bc is whities don't appreciate culture. We want pizza and cheesesteaks. I miss living in Tampa, Fl. I miss living in Tx, I miss living in Cali... actually no I don't but I miss the good food in Cali. This place isn't bad, but if you know Viet. Food, you know this is a 3star, maybe 3-1/2 star. Good people but no one here knows what "good" Viet. food is. My wife of 13yrs is Vietnamese. Her mom is an amazing cook. She spoiled us with her Sunday cooking. DelMarVa is such a racist place to the point we ONLY HAVE PIZZA, BEER AND STEAK. OPEN YOUR PALLETS PEOPLE. TRY SOMETHING NEW!!! Be open to others and their culture. Please let me know if yall disagree/or/agree. Thanks read more

Nice! I wanted soup on a very cold night so I and the princess agreed on PHO so open up the trusty yelp app and sure enough found "1" pho place in the whole strip. The friendly staff is not busy since nobody's in town haha. I ordered a combination of pho and spring rolls for Me and the little one .good size pho bowl. The broth is tasty so is the spring roll a bit skinny but at least it tasted good. Good find especially if you like pho. Recommend this place. So read more

NGL, my expectations for pho in Ocean City were minimal at best, but HOLY COW! This was some of the best pho I've ever had (and we live in DC). Broth was rich and flavorful, full-bodied without too much salt. My one comment would be to add a little more meat, but otherwise, a solid option! read more

Wanting a break from seafood, my friends and I ventured out to Pho Char for a quick lunch. We ordered several bowls of pho as well as the grilled pork. The herbs were fresh and a decent amount. The pho broth was not bad but the portion sizes were pretty disappointing. There isn't much difference in volume between a large and small bowl - both left everyone feeling pretty unsatisfied. The meats are cut super thin and there were only a couple pieces. Moving on to the grilled pork dish, my friend was not happy with her meal. We all took a bite of the meat and agreed that the texture was off (sort of like chewy and gummy). Being Vietnamese myself, the flavor was not very authentic. If you're in Ocean City and sorely missing pho, this place can get the job done but don't expect too much. read more

Truly delish once you narrow it down to your choice. Very cordial service and excellent price

One of my favorite places in town. I work right nearby so I typically go in before work. It's a great experience even by myself and the food comes out quick. Our family loves Pho. It's one of the few foods that all of our kids and my spouse and I all enjoy. We moved back to Maryland from the west coast 2y ago and have tried various Pho places that were very underwhelming. But we all loved Pho-Char Grill!!! The best Pho we've had since moving back east. Service was great. Food was excellent. Lovely setting inside the restaurant. Thanks to all who helped us give our 10-yo a special birthday meal. We will definitely be back the next time we have a beach trip to OCMD. read more

Good service & great chicken pho soup! Mike is always very friendly! Clean restaurant as well!

I would give zero stars if I could. This food is not even remotely Vietnamese. The pho has no richness in flavor, it's just beef bouillon with NO bone broth. The people that are raving about this restaurant have never had real pho. Terrible service, terrible food. read more

The food was good very tasty. The portion size is decent, and the pho has good amount of noodles and meat. The atmosphere is very calming.

We stomped into this place by chance since this is the only Pho place in ocean city Maryland. This is our first and will be our last here. Start from our arrival, the host is polite however she was a little bit one a harsh side. We were not sure what we did wrong- maybe because we came in with a baby? Second on the food, we ordered one Vietnamese coffee, two Bowls of pho and a fried rice. The broths of pho is decent however it was a bit salty and with barely got any meat. We have had phos many times before and this place gave the least amount of meat for the hefty price tag of each bowl ( the small side costs about 15 dollars). To make things worst, its Vietnamese coffee was very diluted with barely any coffee for 7 dollars!!!. The fried rice was salty as well. Overall, this is the worst pho place we have ever had. We do not mind to paying the higher price is food tastes good and have decent of quality and ingredients/meats. This is not the place that provides you with any of that. read more

This is pretty much the Only Vietnamese place you are going to find in O.C., so here is my review: Minus: On Labor Day, I place an online order for 12:15pm pickup at 11am. We showed up and the employees looked so confused, looking at each other wondering who was supposed to be responsible for manning the online orders. The lady helping me went through my order and wanted to tell me I was wrong, except for the big red "due at 12:15pm" on her phone. I was none too happy that they started my order at pickup time and told me 5-minutes and later told me 15-20 min. Apparently, they either underestimated the volume of people that day or just don't care, because I watched 2 other carryout pickups with the same issue. 3 Pho's and 1 Salmon Teriyaki. Pho's we're decent-sized in portion. Broth seemed a bit too dark for my liking (so less natural bone broth flavoring and more MSG and additives). The salmon teriyaki was decent but more of a cross between a Caramel Claypot flavor and teriyaki than just teriyaki. You are limited to your choice of pho when in O.C. This is Def not the most affordable or tasty pho I've ever had. read more

I've been enjoying Pho for over 30 years. From Manhattan to Marco Island and many Pho restaurant in between. Pho Char-Grill is Beautiful atmosphere, cleanliness could be better. The service was okay. The you boy was friendly, but the woman that served us was not (I feel badly saying this but it could be a cultural thing) although she was helpful. Could improve on the freshness of the food. Minh's Bistro, Rehoboth Beach is far better all around. Quality of food, atmosphere, service. read more

This place has very good Pho. Regarding some of the negative reviews I have the following to offer: 1. You do have to adjust your expectations if your normal restaurant experience is typical American fare and American service. This is a Vietnamese restaurant and it makes little sense to expect people from other cultures to act like a fake American server who smiles in your face and then spits in your food. The service here was very efficient, fast and overall satisfactory. I didn't come to make friends with the waitress but that said, I did NOT consider any part of her conduct rude. She was perfectly professional and pleasant. 2. This is not a buffet. If you expect to walk out with your gut busting, you will certainly be disappointed. I went with another adult and we both left feeling full and satisfied with one small sized Pho each, and sharing the crispy spring roll. The food was great, the restaurant was VERY clean and this place hit the spot on a cold, windy day. I would definitely come back here. 5 stars well earned. read more

Pho was great service was also excellent advise all to try the broth was above expectations

I am a big fan of Pho and other than the iced coffee (a demerit from my wife) this is an outstanding bowl of Pho, a unique clean broth deserving of accolades and attention. I could've licked the bowl clean! Terrific and we will return. Thank you! read more

I spotted Pho-Char two summers ago, on the last day of vacation, while waiting for our scopes. We vowed to check it out, in 2020 but covid. Whoever said good things come to whose who wait, must have been talking about Pho-Char Grill. We got the octopus and summer rolls for appetizers. The octopus was served cold, which wasn't explained on the menu, but it was still delicious. The summer rolls, were filled with fresh shrimp, beef and fresh herbs. The peanut sauce was perfect. I got the Combination Pho. The regular size was perfectly large and filled with meatballs, tripe, tendons and thinly sliced beef. My husband chose the spicy chicken Thai fried rice. Perfectly seasoned, topped with fresh herbs. The only disappointment was the spice factor, it just wasn't spicy enough. read more

This was a really great destination if you want to get outside of the usual American food vibe of Ocean City. The atmosphere is really nice, too! We got the dumplings and the sesame balls as appetizers- both of which were good but the sesame balls were amazing (red bean filled). Two people in the party got a regular sized pho, one shrimp and one flank / brisket (same price!) and both were good. I wish that there was more meat in the pho but overall pretty good. The teriyaki was good, too. Prices are kind of high. read more

Don't bother if you've had Vietnamese food anywhere else. Waitress/owner lady was not friendly towards us (family of Asians) but when white people came in she was chatty and nice. Back to the food, the pho sucked, tastes like they took a handful of cloves and threw it into the soup. Pork chop, singular pork chop and rice came with mushy vegetables. Never seen that before. It also tastes more like Chinese ribs than Vietnamese pork chops. read more

I would give 6 stars if I could. This was the best takeout during our vacation week; better than the sushi place, better than the pizza place. We had 4 chicken pho's and 1 veggie pho for the vegan in our group. Although I didn't see it on the menu they have veggie, beef and chicken broths to choose from. The wait on a Friday night for pickup was only 15 minutes. Service person was very polite. Now to the food. I wasn't sure how a pho-to-go would work but everything we needed was included but packaged separately like the fresh basil, lime, sprouts, chicken, rice noodles. So all you had to do is mix it together. Like I said, this was our best Ocean city restaurant experience and would definitely go back. And to top it off fed 5 people for $75 read more

Pho-Char Grill - Okay - so we were very hungry and went at these pho's like a pack of wild dogs - Vietnamese Near Me - Ocean City, Maryland

Perhaps it was after spending some time in the rain. The hot soup hit the spot. I thought everything was fresh and clean. While their menu had very little variety, I was ok with that since it allowed them to keep things simple. They offer fried rice, rice dishes and pho, along with a few appetizers. Their dessert offerings were off topic (who wants NY cheesecake after pho?). We both had the combination pho. Seemed like the large and the regular size weren't very different, although large came in a bigger bowl. I enjoyed the combination of meat. Particularly, the beef was fresh and tender. The broth was simple, and didn't seem loaded with msg. Nice low key dinner option in a tourist area, when you get tired of endless crab. read more

Kids were feeling under the weather so we wanted to get something hot and soupy. Only option we could think of was pho. Tried and true. Ordered two large noodle soups to go. Although now I wonder what the different is between regular and large since the tupperware all looks the same. The pho is clear (not oily) and very flavorful. It's not overly seasoned with salt because I wasn't dying of thirst after finishing the soup. Plenty of meat in the dish. It's a bit pricey but I'm guessing it's due to being one of the few pho places here. Good option to have when you want something that's non-seafood. read more
