The food was good, especially the green curry but the service was even better. Our waiter was kind, funny, and helpful.

The wrapping of my Firecracker Shrimp Which should've been dipped in batter

I ordered the Larb (Beef), Firecracker Shrimp and Peking Bao (Pork). First off the toasted rice in the Larb was not toasted at all and the untoasted rice was not finely grinded. My Firecracker shrimp was also terrible. The picture indicated that it was dipped in some kind of batter and deep fried. What I had was 4pcs of shrimp that was wrapped up in Won Ton wraps which by the time I got home was not crunchy and turf like leather. Now the last dish was the Peking Boa, once again the picture looked appetizing and fresh. But as I opened the container at home I realised that the chicken that they gave me wasn't fresh most likely microwaved ontop of that isn't even what I ordered, I had ordered the Pork This sucks because my sin and nephew told me thus place is good. I love Vietnamese, Thai, Laos food because it's almost similar to my Filipino heritage and Waianae doesn't have a Filipino restaurant. I wanna give this place another try because the customer service was supah good and reading these other reviews it seems I'm the only one that got the bad batch I paid over $30 on these meals and it sucks to write this but it needed to be said. Hope it gets back to VIET 808 and this doesn't happen again to anyone else. Aloha&Mahalo

    Yellow curry & sticky rice

Horrible. Brought about 2lbs worth of Yellow Curry and they only give you less than a quarter lb of sticky rice. Because I substituted the reg rice for sticky it was $3. That's not enough to even eat with the curry. Sad

This location is located in Kapolei Village Center near Gina's and Mattress Firm. The parking lot is tight (IYKYK) but there are plenty of stalls. We went around lunch time on a weekday and only had two other parties. The interior was smaller than we expected, but we didn't mind - I'm not sure how crowded it gets during a weekend or lunch/dinner rush. We ordered: Thai tea, summer rolls with shrimp, medium combo pho, and large chicken pho. The Thai tea is such a generous size with the amount that you pay and it's so refreshing especially to cool your mouth off when you ask for a side of jalapenos for your pho! The summer rolls were thick and fresh but the rice paper could have done a smidge longer soaked in the water. Chicken pho was good - some parts were a little dry but it was in the broth so it wasn't too bad. The combo pho (I ordered medium) was a perfect size for me but didn't have as much tripe or tendon as I wanted. The highlight for us was probably the broth. 95% of the time I love to add hoisin or garlic to my broth, but this is probably the first time I've never had to add anything else to it because it was SUPER flavorful and the perfect amount of sweet already. Our server did not necessarily keep coming up to ask if we were okay but we noticed him keep looking at us and visually checking. Overall, this place is 5/5 and definitely would come back. We love pho and we're so happy there's one super close to us. Thank you for the yummy food and good service!

The food was absolutely delicious--especially the oxtail pho, which was exceptionally tasty and full of rich flavor. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Haven't been here in ages, and it was nice to finally be back. This has always been my go-to spot…read morefor their house garlic chili paste and traditional Vietnamese iced coffee--and thankfully, both are still solid. The garlic chili paste has definitely leveled up in heat since my last visit--noticeably spicier but still packed with that deep, garlicky punch. It's truly one-of-a-kind, and one of the main reasons this place stands out from the many pho restaurants I've tried. No one else does it. They also serve Vietnamese iced coffee the traditional way--with sweetened condensed milk and coffee that you mix yourself. Most places pre-blend it and serve it over ice, but here you get the full experience, exactly how it's meant to be enjoyed. For food, I ordered the chicken pho, while my boyfriend went with the combination pho. Both bowls were very good. The broth leaned on the lighter side flavor-wise, but it was clean, comforting, and generously filled with tender chicken pieces in my bowl. My boyfriend really enjoyed his combination pho, which came loaded with a variety of meats. The side garnishes were plentiful and fresh--lemon wedges, bean sprouts, basil, and even culantro, which is a nice touch you don't see at most pho spots. We also ordered the spring rolls. Two rolls cut in half, crispy on the outside but a bit doughy inside. Flavor-wise they were pretty mild--okay, but not a standout. Service was fast and friendly, which made the experience even better. It was quiet when we arrived around 10:45 AM, but by the time we left, most of the restaurant had filled up--always a good sign. Overall, a comforting, nostalgic visit with some familiar favorites and a few subtle changes. Still worth stopping by, especially for that garlic chili paste and iced coffee. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

My review is solely on the chilled fresh coconut experience…read more We were greeted with a sweet smile and welcoming spirit from the second we walked up to this open air hut. The owner asked me to pick out my own coconut out of the cooler that was filled with ice cold water. I obviously went for the largest one and then she asked " do you want more water or more meat in your coconut?" I wanted more coconut water than the pulp "meat" so she suggested that I grab a younger coconut "smaller" one. She explained that the bigger /older The coconut is, the less water it has but the more "meat" it contains. I went ahead and opted for a younger one and this thing was FULL of water. She grabbed a huge machete style knife and went to work on it.. it was a bit scary seeing the danger that these small businesses owners go through in opening these things to please us tourists. She was amazing at it. I do need to note the following. My husband does not like the taste of coconut, because obviously we are used to a certain taste which is what we are taught to believe coconuts taste like... but her loved this one! young fresh coconuts do not taste like anything "mainstream coconut flavor". It is a refreshing soft, delicate flesh which has a soft set jelly type of texture. It is slightly watery and you will taste the coconut water in it, think of Chinese jelly with very little sugar, almost buttery and melty. The water itself is very refreshing with a very little hint of flavor. We both really enjoyed our island fresh coconut experience and highly recommend you buy at least one!
