On our way home from a day of watching huge surf at Yokohama's Beach. What sounds good on the Westside...Pho, but of course!. This restaurant was cute, and clean. The owner Hoa warmly greeted us at the door. Lots of yummy on the menu...we picked ox tail pho and brisket pho. We also had sugar cane juice, an vietnamese iced coffee. Hoa brought a large plate of basil, peppers, bean sprouts, and lemon slices. The table had all the condiments you could possibly want ie: chili sauce, Siracha, fish sauce, soy sauce, etc. Hoa replenished our waters, and chatted with us often. Soon the Pho came to the table. The broth was delicious, lots of scallion and beef, and noodles.. the broth itself was amazing!! We had to bring the extras home. Then Hoa brought coconut tapioca to our table....it was delicious. Stopping @Pho Hoa was the perfect end to our day. Restaurant has only been open 4 months. Support them if you can. read more

Best pho place in Waianae, by far. The food is as authentic as it gets, and the portions are extremely generous. I also appreciate how organized the menu is. It's appealing with no overcrowding of pictures. I ordered the avocado shake, honeydew shake, mango shake, taro coconut tapioca, pho with round steak and beef balls, and the summer rolls. The mango shake is delicious! It's light, not overly sweet, and doesn't overpower the natural flavor because it's made with real mango where you also get mango chunkies. The taro coconut tapioca has the perfect balance of coconut and taro. My husband is absolutely in love with this dessert. The pho was outstanding. It came with all the proper garnishes and wasn't overloaded with noodles like many other pho places tend to do. Hoisin sauce and chili oil are served on the side, which truly completes the dish. The summer rolls were fresh and flavorful, and adding hoisin sauce to the dipping sauce tied everything together perfectly. What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The owner herself provides unmatched customer service. She genuinely appreciates her customers and creates a clean, beautiful, and welcoming space. She makes you feel at home and clearly cares about your comfort and happiness. I stop by a couple times a week just for the tapioca dessert, whether it's paired with an avocado shake for me or a honeydew shake for my mom, which she loves. I've also tried the mango shake, and it's excellent. You can tell all the shakes are made with real fruit. I highly recommend this authentic Vietnamese restaurant! read more

I'm almost afraid of sharing our spot with people as the last thing we need is not to be able to get a seat but....the aunty who runs it is a literal angel on earth and the food is fresh, nicely priced and nice sized portions. Her place is just the best. We feel like home and always feel so good to contribute to it's success . The soup had so much flavor and was not too spicy, the drink was very refreshing with a slight calamansi flavor. We also got the vermicelli noodles with spring roll & lemon grass chicken to-go. Even though I arrived about three minutes after closing to pick up my order, she was still very kind and welcoming. Be aware that the tastes of the food here has not been altered to fit a western palette. This is the real deal. The food here is as authentic as you can get to Vietnamese cuisine in Vietnam. While other restaurants use mayonnaise as a substitute, the banh mi pâté here is made of liver blended with shallots, garlic, pork fat, butter and spices for example. I rarely write reviews, but after my fist visit to Pho Hoa in Waianae, I couldn't not write one. On a scale of 1 to 10, this place is a 12! First impressions count, and upon entering, I immediately noticed that the restaurant was light, airy and very clean. I am something of a connoisseur of Vietnamese cuisine, so I must admit that I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but was I ever wrong!! I ordered the combination Pho (meatballs, brisket and rare steak), and it was hands-down the best Pho on the island! And that's saying something, because I've eaten at *many* Vietnamese restaurants on Oahu and on the mainland. The broth was clear and savory -- even before taking a bite, I could tell by the aroma that it was authentic, made-from-scratch and wonderful -- the kind that takes hours to achieve. The noodles were perfectly done, and it was all topped with generous amounts of fresh, appealing vegetables -- finely chopped green onions, basil and bean sprouts. The portions are very generous, and prices are super reasonable. The presentation was lovely and the service unparalleled. The proprietor is the sweetest lady ever, and at the end of our meal, she served us with complimentary tapioca pudding. Pho Hoa is hands down one of the best, if not the best Pho restaurants on Oahu. The broth is authentic with good clarity and great flavor. Having spent a lot of time in Little Saigon in Orange County, I can say their pho is as good as many of the pho restaurants in So Cal. It's so nice to have a good pho restaurant out here in Waianae. The restaurant is very clean and bright with a nice seating area. The owner is the nicest and the service is the best I've ever gotten at a casual eatery. If you're out visiting the west side give this place a shot, it's conveniently located right across the street from Pokai Bay, just off Farrington Hwy. We for sure will be going back. read more
