Vienna Appliance used to be my go to for appliance repairs for many years! It saddens me to write such a bad review, but since Al Parvisi left, so did their customer service and quality. I just called them to ask about my ice maker, and not only did they not want to come out and see it (I would have gladly paid the $95), but they wouldn't even tell me what a Water Valve was. I had to look it up on Google. He said Al knew about all that stuff with older appliances and he is no longer there. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THEM. read more

I want everyone to know that we had to call another Appliance Service and they had our washer fixed that same day. Please whatever you do call Expert Appliance Services 703-887-8144 and Sam will get the job done. Vienna Appliance never called us back, left us without a washer for well over a month telling us he had to order the part from the company and now we find out that part was available in this area. We had tolerated the grinding noise in the 5 year old clothes dryer for longer than I care to say. I had already experienced a failed service call for this same problem in said machine and did not want to spend another $65 call needlessly. I thought perhaps I should just bite the bullet and buy a new one. One last try before I plunk down $400 for a dryer that no longer matches my washing machine. I was mentally prepared for failure but--- EUREEEKA!! And I don't mean a vacuum kind of Eureka. The repair team (one was in training) was punctual, cheerful, worked quickly, cleaned up, were polite, and .... they fixed it. They phoned a head to let me know how long it would take to get the part, and installed it the day after they got the part. No two week wait for the 'next available appointment'. Next time I'll call Vienna first, not Betty's, Sears or GE. PS These guys work west of the city so if you're in DC, sadly you are out of luck. Sorry. read more

I have a problem with my washer. The manufacturer sent me the replacement part gratis, but said I had to pay for the service. Vienna Appliance said they wouldn't give me an estimate or do the work unless I bought the part from them. At least the woman on the phone was nice about it... read more

Al always, yes ALWAYS reccomends buying a new appliance instead of fixing it. He's come to our house a few times to fix different appliances, but on every single visit he says it's cheaper to just buy a new appliance. Our appliances aren't even old, our fridge is 3 years, same with our dishwasher. He eventually will fix the appliance but charges more than any other repair service. He quoted me $600+ to fix our dishwasher, said it was going to be a big job. I called another company and they did the repair work for $175. and that included the part that needed to be replaced. Al is very nice, but I don't think he wants to fix appliances, he only wants you to buy new ones and call him to install it. PS... all of our appliances are still working, we didn't replace any of them and they are now 5+ years old. read more

Al came out to do a dryer repair for us, and I'm very impressed and plan to call Vienna Appliance the next time I have an appliance problem. The customer service was fantastic right from the first phone call and all the way through the repair. He went above and beyond what repairmen usually do -- he didn't have the part on the truck but went out to get it and came right back to replace it. (I live close by their office, so I'm sure they couldn't do that for everyone.) Al was very personable and conscientious. I highly recommend them. read more

I had a stack washer/dryer go bad in my mom's basement apartment. I called on a Tuesday in the afternoon and was told that I would get a call between 8 and 9 the next day with a 4 hour service window. They called when they said they would, and showed up on the early side of the 1-5 window. In fact, the service man called me about 3:30 to tell me the problem, the price for parts and labor, and told me that he had the part with him and the machine would be running that day. When I got home from work my mom was folding clothes. The folks at Vienna Appliance were courteous and timely. I will definitely use them again. read more

DO NOT USE!!!! Al came to look at our dryer and was nice at first, but as soon as we started asking questions, he got very defensive! My husband and I are educated people, so we always like to ask questions. It alerted us how defensive he got while we were just trying to understand the issue. Al told us it would be 4 days to get the part in, but during that 4-day period we decided to do the repair ourselves since the labor rate on Al's quote was upwards of $500 an hour!! (His quote was $260 + parts for a repair that took us only 45 minutes to do - so it would have taken him 30 minutes or less.) When we called to let him know we were going to do the work ourselves he started yelling at me over the phone for several minutes. We like to give our business to local companies but we will NEVER use Vienna Appliance again. They were probably the worst company we have ever done business with! DO NOT USE!!! read more

my decades-old oven broke. they were recommended by a friend and they did a great job diagnosing the problem over the phone. came through with the part on schedule. the guys who showed up to do the work were especially friendly, intelligent and quick. the pricing was totally fair. dont waste your money on boneheads who lowball you on the phone. save yourself a headache and go with a local professional. read more

I know service calls can be a pain but we have had "Al" out from Vienna Appliance several times and he is so good that this is my first Yelp review. He is knowledgeable and clearly knows what he is doing. He tells you straight up what the problem is, what it will cost to repair it and how long it will take. He's repaired our dryer a couple of times (20 years old but a great old dryer) and our frig (also 20 years old). Ask for Al...he's great! read more

I own a rental property, and my tenant had an issue with the washing machine. Vienna Appliance scheduled an appointment promptly, without my having to be present to let them in. They correctly diagnosed the issue, notified me of it, ordered parts, and got it fixed. They are polite and responsive. I couldn't have been more pleased and will use them again. read more

Al came to look at our refrigerator and while being able to diagnose the problem quickly, his demeanor was hostile and unprofessional, including the slamming of our front door. 5 stars!! Maybe I'm easy but they came when they said they would. They found the problem (even though I knew what it was too). Timer on the washer had to be replaced. Washer would not spin in the main wash cycle. Tribles could get the timer in about a day for $116. I was about ready to do it myself before I called Vienna Appliance. But, decided otherwise. $65 for service all to be deducted from parts and labor to repair. Was not cheap! Cost $243 to replace the timer (part and labor). 90 day warranty. Chad did a good job. In and out out in about 15-20 minutes. read more

We have been doing business with family-owned Vienna Appliance for more than 30 years, and would not think of calling anyone else. We have found them to be reliable, honest, and unfailingly polite. On more than one occasion we have been advised when it was more efficient to repair than to replace, and also when it was time to replace rather than repair. Unfortunately, the owner who visited our home many times died a few years ago, but his son operates in the same efficient, competent, polite way: arrive on time; do the job promptly and correctly; clean up, and leave after charging a fair price for the service. They just left after repairing our dryer, and it is great to have a reliable, local company on which one can depend. read more

Four stars for repair. One star for customer service. I wanted to love them, I really did. First, it was annoying that they didn't do a call-ahead like most service companies these days so I was tied to the house for the four-hour window a-la-1985. I was willing to overlook that in support of a neighborhood business. When he arrived, Al was so helpful and friendly that I really wanted to love this company. He seemed "green" and not super familiar with my machine and problem (a lot of online research that frankly I could have done), but again, I wanted to support him figuring we all have to start somewhere. After over a week my washer was finally repaired. I was annoyed by the additional $150 I was being charged to service my washer since I have my front-loading washer and dryer stacked--especially since instead of making him bring a second person to help him un-stack & re-stack I offered to do that role myself. But when your washer is broken and laundry is piling up, beggars can't be choosers. Al was so nice that when he wasn't 100% sure the washer was fixed, we agreed to keep the pieces hooked up and un-stacked so I could run a few loads overnight and then he'd come back the next day to re-stack the appliances. Imagine my surprise the next day when I had a voicemail message, and two visits to the house (I was not home at the time) in pursuit of payment--BEFORE my washer and dryer were re-stacked together! When I spoke to Al on the phone and explained that I would not be paying until after they were re-stacked, he got angry, stating that "technically his job is done because my washer is fixed." But "technically" he was charging me $150 for the stacked components, which he had not re-stacked. Al promptly came over and re-stacked the components, hostily took my payment and made clear how unhappy he was that I expected him to do this. Given that he was going to leave the job un-finished when seeking payment, I would never use this company again. In the past, I have used Home Appliance Repair on Church St. in Vienna. My Sears dryer stopped working, called Sears and scheduled an appt. for 1-4 pm. The call center contacted me at 3:45 to say that no one was coming and the next time they could be out was 2 1/2 weeks later. After I blew up they had an opening for 12 days later and I could take that one and "see if I could find anyone else to look at it". I called another company that was recommended by our neighborhood newsletter and they couldn't come for a week. Went to YELP and found Vienna Appliance. Called on Friday and they could come by on Tuesday. Said he would call that morning to let me know what time. Tueday came and he called. Came by when he said he would and was very polite and personable, showed me the problem and gave me an estimate. The service call would be applied to the repair, but as the dryer is 10 years old, we opted to just buy a new one. Gave his card to my neighbor and will definitely use them again and will contact my neighborhood newsletter. read more
