Oh, to be a dying breed in a digital world. Videodrome is holding strong. Same musty smell, familiar process of renting videos (some of you kids may never experience such joys), and tons of international selection across all genres. What I love about Videodrome is that it feels like a comic book shop filled with DVDs instead of magazines and books. The dudes that run the joint are film buffs and they carry some of the best films you simply cannot squeeze out of a DVD vending machine. Love their lengthy collection of Miyazaki films and large selection of Indie films. We checked out No Country For Old Men upon our recent visit. Membership is simple -- All you need is a credit card and ID. Just over $3 for a rental and you get it for 3 days. $1 every day it's late. Long live Videodrome. Don't ever change.

An Atlanta staple of movie rental, outside the red-enveloped freeway of Netflix and their ilk. Videodrome has been around forever, and is located right in the heart of midtown. Their collection of independent and foreign film is impressive and replete. From midnite movie to documentary to splatter to the latest boxset of perverted Anime, you can always find something worth renting that no other venue has. Their selections are grouped into genre, and then under genre, often, by director (from Altman to Argento to Gilliam to Bunuel and on and on and on), so it's easy to shop by association. If you're looking to snatch up one of 40 copies of the newest vehicle produced so ladies can look at Jake Gyllenhaal, you're going to have to hurry, because they don't overstock the big sellers. It's first come first served Kool Keith style. But even when I've been there looking for something specific and found it missing, there's always been something else I had forgotten or didn't know about to fill its place. Atlanta's best video rental, hands down.

Such an awesome place. Gotta love the independent store supporting a wide variety of obscure, hard-to-find, independent films.

Always a treat to visit, and bonus points for not killing me for my egregious late fees.

It's a work shop and retail selling records, Dj equipment, and art supplies. Mega and his small team do great work out of a small space. I read some of the reviews saying the staff is rude, those reviews are from people who don't understand how to act in someone's work shop. Salute to Mega and crew. Thank you for what you do.

Then reaching adulthood I came into the store one day and I walked into the store, and the door didn't close all the way I honestly made a minor mistake of not closing it behind me because I was so lost in thought. Then the guy instantly made a remark of "Y'all don't close doors out here", mind you Ive been into hip hop all my life so I wasn't so much put off by that remark even though he said it in a very offensive manner, it was more so what happened afterwards after saying that remark I looked back at the door and it seemed to close on its own and I shrugged my shoulders smiled and said something to the extent of oh well it closed on its own. I walked towards the counter and the guy proceeded to shoot up out of his chair got close to the counter and gave me a death stare saying "What's up" like he wanted to fight. Still me being so young and being in a lot of hostile situations I laughed it off even though I shouldn't have. I proceeded to go to the store on other occasions (I don't know why) and it was always rude condescending interactions with the guy. Dude has a thuggish, rude, condescending disposition. This is not what hip hop is about. I can tell why this hipster came down to Atlanta he knew them cats in New York wouldnt tolerate those lame actions he puts off. If I could give multiple negative 5 star reviews I would. Avoid this place at all Costs!!!
