Lew was real helpful in trying to find out what was wrong and lead me in the right direction. Thanks

Great service. Took great care to understand what I needed with old audio tapes recordings of a recently deceased relative to share with family. Removed a lot of background noise so the quality was good and didn't overcharge for the service. Definitely recommend. read more

I recently had an issue with my Samsung plasma TV turning off randomly and taking longer and longer to power itself back on. This is a common issue with plasma TVs due to the heat the units generate and the subpar solder typically used on their power supply boards failing over time. I called a few local TV repair shops and felt the best by far about Lew at Video Electronics. He quickly helped me identify and diagnose the issue as the power supply board and confirmed that he had seen and fixed the issue many times before (Video Electronics is an authorized Samsung repair center). I dropped the TV off and picked it up the next day. Everything has worked perfectly since. I note in some other reviews people complained about having to take your electronics to the shop for service. I hear that, especially having hauled my TV around in a sedan with the rear seat folded down. However, I think the drop off requirement here is a benefit. With sensitive electronics, I'd much rather have the technician working in their own controlled environment, with their equipment and instruments, not feeling rushed being in my home, and not having the solder fumes linger in my home. Lew informed me that he resoldered roughly 70% of the solder joints on my power supply board (with leaded solder, not the unleaded solder used by Samsung originally), and I doubt that would have happened if I went with one of the in-home repair options. Lew went above and beyond as he knew how important it was to me and I made it clear I didn't just want a quick fix. I consider a couple hours of labor a great value for a TV that's lasted over a decade now and will hopefully last many years to come. Thank you, Lew! read more

No nonsense repairs, great friendly service and reasonable prices. Doesn't sell you what you don't need.

My 15 year old Vizio TV finally stopped working. I would replace it, but it does one thing that current TVs don't do anymore: play 3D content. Since I am one of the few that likes 3D movies, I took my TV to Video Electronics. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad main board, quoted me a price (which was way cheaper than I expected) and did the repair once the part came in. The TV works just like before. This is the type of store where they do the job and then you leave, no frills, no annoyances. The best kind of store, honestly. read more

If I could leave ten stars I would! I went in there, with only three days before the event, with 31video tapes I needed converted to commemorate the tenth anniversary of my husband's passing. Initially, Cary told me he couldn't have them done in time. However, the very next day, he called to say he had put all other projects aside in order to get mine done for me! Incredible!!! He went above and beyond for me! I'm already spreading the word about this amazing experience and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know! It's very rare to find people who commit such acts of kindness. So glad I found this jewel! read more

I contacted Video Electronics after digging out my 23 year old VX2000 and finding it wouldn't play tapes properly. Kerry was able to repair the camera in only two days for a very reasonable price. The camera is working great again and I can now import DV footage for long term archiving! read more

They fixed a Panasonic Plasma TV so it works like new. They did a great job and at a good price. I recommend them highly.

Honest, customer oriented professionals! I brought my high-end VCR I had purchased over fifteen years ago here for repair; it suddenly would not turn on. I was contacted the next day with the results. Sadly, it could not be repaired, since the circuits had gotten fried. They had some nice used ones available and a choose a nice Sony model. I enjoyed dealing with them because they are kind, and professional; did not even think of trying to string me on with unnecessary repairs that would not have worked - they told me the honest truth. My VCR could not be repaired due to the shortage of microchips, and even if they could, the cost would have been prohibitive, which is what I suspected would be the case anyway. The next time I need electronics repaired, this is the only place I will consider. read more

Lew and team at Video Electronics are fantastic. Honest and practical, they will give the straight scoop on whether or not they think a repair will be cost-effective under the circumstances. Sadly, skilled folks like this who can and will work on vintage hifi gear are becoming few and far between. I very much appreciate Lew and look forward to a long continuing relationship. read more

I contacted Lew to inquire about fixing an 8 year old LG tv that quit on me. Lew responded within minutes of my question and provided honest advise on whether repairing was worth the effort. Even though I did not use their services, I was impressed by the honesty and clarity of Lew's response. I will definitely keep his company in mind for future use. read more

The owner is the only person who is willing to take a look at what is wrong my Bluetooth speaker. And he well explained why it is not unable to be fixed and help me to recycle it. That is a great relief for me. read more

l really appreciated the quick diagnosis and the good communication. I've already recommended this place to friends and family.

This place is fantastic. Quick turnaround at a very reasonable price. I went in with a flat screen TV that was turning itself on and off and Lew fixed it same day (needed a new power cord). Fast forward 6 months and the TV started doing it again, and then completely stopped working. Brought it in again and I had had a surge which damaged it and so it was a quick fix again. They have a customer for life. Highly recommend this business. read more

I came across Video Electronics because I was trying to view old 8 mm tapes on my old Sony camcorder but wasn't able to get video playback, so I searched places that repair camcorders, spoke with Lew and he patiently listened to my plight and advised me that since my camcorder was made in the 90's, parts weren't available and it would be very costly to repair it even if they were. He suggested that I have Video Electronics transfer my old 8 mm tapes to DVDs which he could do and he quoted me a price! I decided to do the transfer ( I actually had 17 8 mm & 2 VHS tapes in total), I dropped them off and in just two days Lew called to tell me "Your all set, your tapes are ready!" I picked them up to find that Lew had even labelled each one of the DVDs he made for me with the titles from what I had written on my old tapes! WOW, talk about "going the extra mile"!! I couldn't wait to view the DVDs, well my wife and I were so pleased with the transfer! The tapes were all of our kid's birthday parties, holidays, family vacations and other family events that occurred in the late 90's & early 2000's that we can now see again and enjoy watching with our now adult age kids!! Customer service here is OUTSTANDING and Lew made the project so easy for me to have done! Thank you Lew and Video Electronics for giving us back our treasured memories! If you have a similar situation as mine, give Lew a call at Video Electronics you will be as pleased as I am I guarantee it! I have already started spreading the word to all of my friends and family. This company is trustworthy and professional, and gets the job done quickly at a very reasonable price! I will definitely contact Lew again if I need anything in the future! read more

This business is top notch. They fixed my flat screen in a few hours. When I called Lew and explained the issue he diagnosed it immediately and even obtained the mother board it needed before ever charging me a thing. Highest recommendation with how I was treated and the repair. read more

Very pleasant and helpful people. They know their stuff. After a power surge my home theater stopped working. For $25 they tested the receiver an found the damaged input. Rather than recommend an expensive repair, they told me I could just use another input, even though it was labeled differently. They also looked into the cost of repairing a damaged HDMI input on the associated TV. Again, they recommended that the cost of repair was unnecessary. I think these folks know their stuff, get to it quickly, and absolutely work in the best interest of the customer. If all businesses were like Video Electronics, we wouldn't even need to read reviews. Thank you Lew and Kerry. read more

I recently brought in a vintage Marantz receiver, I was told upfront that there was a $25 fee to check it out which I thought was very reasonable. The technician that worked on my receiver was knowledgeable with the brand and gave me a very reasonable estimate to do the necessary repairs. Two weeks later my Marantz was repaired and the quoted price didn't change ( which was a pleasant surprise ) After many years of issues with the receiver and not knowing where to take it for quality repairs, I can now say that it works like NEW.... I'm absolutely thrilled and will continue to use and recommend these guys..... Thanks guys BW read more

Lew called my home and threatened to throw my tv away because he was done pursuing a repair. I wasn't aware that I was trying satisfying him. After listening to a condescending message I tried to explain to him that I'm not in control of when the manufacturer completes a review process. In addition he took indistinct photos of the item that had to be retaken and added weeks to the entire thing. Just terrible arrogant people who's industry has just about disappeared. Stay a away. read more

4 stars for telling me what could possibly be wrong with my tv. If not for the guy on the phone telling me what could be wrong, I probably would have lost my tv and a few thousand dollars. He pointed me in the right direction and I am happy for it. One star off for not doing house calls. Moving a 65' TV was not exactly an ideal plan of action. Nontheless, his information proved invaluable. read more

I'm so thrilled I found these guys! I had a Nakamichi RE-1, which is a very nice receiver. It had power but no sound. I knew it had to be an easy fix, but was too lazy to deal with it, was going to sacrifice it for no money and decided to have Video Electronics diagnose the problem. Thank goodness! It was an easy fix and a very fair price! I'm happy I brought it in and happy I had them fix it! Thank you Video Electronics! read more
