I cannot say enough good things about Russ and how helpful he was. Great customer service! I had…read morepurchased a game cube game from GameStop for my nephew for Christmas. I didn't realize they had such a short window for returns and exchanges. By the time my nephew opened the game and found out that it didn't work, it was beyond that window. GameStop would not budge. Russ tried to resurface it twice and even set up a machine to test it and unfortunately, it still did not work. I purchased a few other games for my nephew, and I will be back for his birthday and Christmas. Thanks, Russ!

After that i had some trade ins a PS2 Fat and a Nintendo Wii and a handful of games, he then proceeded to offer me $50 for it all that was less than or about 50% market for what i had brought in. Just because i wanted to off load this stuff i was like sure whatever, he then tests the systems and they all work. He then comes back to me and makes me a different offer for them "I can give you $40" it got lower??? Anyways it's better to go take your business with a place that's more honest. It just sucks cus they have a good selection of games. Wish they weren't so shady about their trade ins and prices.

Located within easy walking distance, the GameStop in downtown Long Beach is of decent size and has…read morea decent selection of new and used games along with knowledgeable staff. The previous Yelp business posting (which has many reviews, including mine) was incorrectly marked as being permanently closed after Covid. Tried to get it reinstated, but it looks like this business listing was created instead...so...putting another review out there. As usual, the interaction and purchase experience was good. GameStop is on a tough business model: even with video gaming becoming bigger than film, tv, and music combined, the move to digital from physical discs has greatly reduced the opportunity to buy and sell used games, which has historically been its bread-and-butter. Plus with Amazon.com also being in this space on-line, it really squeezes competitors and suppliers alike. It's been a while since I last visited, with my annual membership expiring earlier this year. It no longer makes sense for me to have it, with the infrequent purchases (mainly because it takes me a really long time to finish a game), and the discounts being minimal. The store is still arranged similarly to what I remember: sections for Playstation, XBox, and Nintendo. The new and used games were kinda mixed together, but ordered alphabetically. And pricing was definitely based to match Amazon...any sale items were the same price on Amazon. I appreciated saving a little money on the one used game that I found that I was interested in (AC-Shadows set in feudal Japan). The associate found the physical copy easily, applied the appropriate discounts, and we were on our way.

First, let me talk about their movie collection. Their DVD selection is awesome (thanks to the…read moreowner who has made that aspect a pet project). Most movies are found alphabetically. Along another wall are additional films sorted by "Hero." The "hero" is the common Hindi film term for the male lead. Tip: If you can't remember the name of a film , at least remember the name of the "hero," say, Sunil Dutt, or Raj Kumar. Heroines, while pretty (often stunning) won't be of any use as the films are invariably associated with the hero. The collection is immense. If you are into old films especially the classic black and white ones, then this place is your Mecca if you will. There are some Bengali films and some Punjabi as well. Like other places you can order titles if you can't find them. The music section is good. Not great, despite "music" being in the title. Yes, they have a good selection of CDs for most categories of Indian music, but searching for particular artists is not always easy as it is usually out of order to some extent. Furthermore the depth of titles for specific artists or genres is not what I'd expect or have seen in a few other places. In all fairness, the size of the store doesn't lend to a great amount of volume, and yet in reality it packs quite a bit for it's size. When in doubt or confused, ask one of the salespeople. Most of the time they are helpful, and one of the ladies in particular is relatively knowledgeable. If you're looking for instruments, understand that they carry "Bina." Bina is a Delhi based manufacturer that makes nearly every type of Indian instrument...from sitars, to sarods to tablas. Price wise, Bina intruments are relatively inexpensive to modest pricing depending on the level of quality of the instrument. (a student level sitar with decent finishing may cost around $500.00 or so) If you're looking to learn to play an intrument, then the intruments carried here aren't a bad way to start. However, if you are a decent musician with some experience and are looking for a good quality instrument, then I suggest you go online and search for better manufacturers...but expect to pay accordingly :) Anyway, Ziba is a fun place to browse and shop if you're a Hindi film nut or want to find some good music. Oh, another tip: if you're thinking of starting out into the strange world of Bollywood films, understand that suspension of disbelief is a term that probably was originally meant for these films in particular. If you ever had an odd appreciation for Busby Berkley girls and their elaborate costumes and dancing then you should feel quite at home watching a Bollywoood film - especially some of the older ones from the 50's and 60's. Along with the heros I mentioned above, Dev Anand was good if you appreciate the Bohemian. As for heroines, well I'm prejudiced and am an enormous fan of Nutan (first Miss India BTW!). Suchitra Sen was stunning, but I'd go for her Benagali films such as "Pothey Holo Deri" as Bengali was her native tongue and she often appeared stilted in her Hindi roles. The one exception to this is "Devdas" which is wonderful. As for music, while Lata Mangeshkar is rightfully lauded, Geeta Dutt is often overlooked.

They had a promotion where it was buy two, get the third free. Placed an order for this location for a store pick up. After a few hours, no email regarding my order has been fulfilled. A few days later nothing. Finally received an email saying my order was cancelled with no reason. Tried to re-order today and noticed the promotion was no longer up. Poor business practice/ethics. Did all this for what? $8 dollar items? If you guys didn't want to give free items away, then be upfront in the email and don't have these type of sales/promotions. If you didn't have them in stock, be more transparent with your inventory posted online and on the app. This is a reason why this business/company will be extinct within the next year or so. Don't support this business. There's a reason why a ton of stores closed over the past year.
