Pawn shopping is hard firstly due to being in Socal and then with the price of gold these days. So this is the first place that actually had prices that weren't like retail! Actually reasonable! The owner/manager was very nice and welcoming, and even though the shop is on the smaller side, you can definitely find something unique! This pawn shop has a large selection of different items, but I really only had eyes for the jewelry! LOTS of selection at reasonable prices. The man who helped us (owner? manager?) was extremely helpful and didn't mind letting my daughter and me try on whatever we wanted and answering all our questions. I came in for a quote on my Series 6 Apple Watch and was greeted by a man who passed me off to another employee or manager. He asked how much I wanted for my brand new 400 dollar watch, to which I said 200 dollars. His response was "how am I going to make money off of this", "how am I going to sell a used watch" , and "I can give you a loan". Within 5 minutes this manager; assumed I was concerned with him making money off of the watch I brought in to sell?? Assumed I was in a place of desperation and wanted a loan, and did not think to ask if my item was used at all/what my intentions were with coming into the store. Guy is way WAAYYY Way over priced on his guitars. I was looking at a G&L L2000 at his shop. They had no price tag on it and they came up with a price for $2000 on it. I showed them that brand new they run $1700 and used they are listed up online for sale for $1100 right now. Wouldn't listen to me and kept saying "I'm giving you a great deal at $2000". This guy so far off. If you search Reverb Official Price Guide even it lists these models from the 1990s and even 1980s. The shop had a used model from the 1990s and he tried telling me it worth more than a new one because it's "vintage". He had another bass that was from 2011 he tried telling me was vintage and worth more money. Wanted $1400 when sold listing shows $800. Here are photos of instruments of L2000 model from 1990 which sold for $825-$1200. Even 1980s models don't fetch a higher price. $2000 is ridiculous and a rip off. I managed a music store for years. Don't buy instruments here or you'll be taken for a ride. Pretty much everything I looked at was hundreds of dollars overpriced even more than new. read more

I am giving it one star as a courtesy. I visited this place with the intention of selling some of my gold. The owner approached me, viewed my pieces and asked me three times how much I wanted for them. I told him that if he matched what the market value was per gram I would be happy. Not finished yet, he threw the pieces on the counter and said the following exact words to me 'I don't have time for you and I can only give you 100 dollars'. Doesn't he know that here in America a customer makes a business to move on and grow? I will not retun for anything ever again. I sincerely don't recommend this place to anyone. Extremely rude. I came to get my girlfriend something nice and I got a hand in my face as soon as I walked in the door. So, see review below this one, shake, stir rinse & repeat, they are all the same. Well the 1 star reviews are right about this place too; first they axed me how much I wanted, then told me they do not take Cricket or Verizon smartphones. Yet, you have a whole display case of I Phones & Smart Phones etc that you are selling for around $150 each and some, are Verizon & Cricket. I should have taken the advice from friends & family, that you have to be at the bottom of the barrel for cash and expect to get the bottom of the barrel prices & services from Pawn Shops. Also, you would not buy my Blue Ant from me that I paid $140 for, that I sold at my yard sale for $100, since as you said "Nobody uses those now with Blue Tooth Share in their cars." We ended up getting a record player for a pretty good price and he even left his doors open for us a bit after hours to make sure that the sound system was ideal. He asked for the model number and looked it up on Ebay.. HA! If you find this guitar on Ebay, I will GIVE YOU $150, how does that sound? Came in with two pieces of gold and the woman there told me it didn't weigh enough and they could give me $10 for my gold. One of the pieces was an earring that at the pawn shop in Compton they gave me $15 for the other earring of the pair. I realized they were trying to rip me off and went to the other pawn shop close to 7-11 and there they offered me $30 for my gold. So for this reason I'll never do business with this shop again. I don't care what anyone says... this is my favorite pawn shop! They buy things other shops wouldn't and they always offer the highest price. Don't confuse them with Albert's pawn down the street. I have been to this store plenty of times to buy things or just get information. The people there aren't there to play games with you or cheat you out of money. They know what there doing and if they don't have what you want or are not willing to pay what your asking they will tell you about other places to try for the best results. They will also work with you if your buying something. Ive seen them take down the price on things several times just to make sure that the customer got the best price they could give. I have even seen them go out of there way so that customers can test something in the store. Ive been to lots of places where if the battery is dead or there is no power cord then your out of luck and you need to test it at home. At AAA they will find a charger or power cord or they will try and make one just for you to see how something works. read more
