Horrible and heartless customer service. My family came in trying to retrieve an item my father pawned before he passed away. We were told multiple different requirements on multiple visits -- first a death certificate, then a notarized document, and then were suddenly told we needed the physical death certificate again after already providing one previously. On top of the constant runaround, the employee named Jaime was extremely sarcastic and disrespectful to my grieving mother, making comments like "you should've brought all your necessary documents" with a smirk and visible attitude. There was zero sympathy, professionalism, or basic kindness. This is a pawn shop dealing with people during vulnerable moments -- the lack of compassion was shocking. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I'm really truly upset, they made this experience so terrible. The guy there too, I didn't get his name but he was also not understanding. I work in management, 5 years of retail management and that would not fly. That type of customer service especially people being in a vulnerable state like that. My sister also was the first one to come and Jaime had told her all she'd need was a death certificate. Then we came back with it then it was just more and more. This used to be a great pawn shop with great customer service.. until the new manager took over. It has been a nightmare dealing with her. I have been tolerating her unpleasant and unprofessional behavior until the last straw recently. The pawn shop lost one of my items and instead of apologizing and comforting me with assurance, she made me feel like I was the villain. They have my $$$ and my bracelet was missing. The least thing that she could have done was to call me for updates.. She NEVER did! And each time I called, she was "unavailable" or "too busy" to speak with me. When I finally got a hold of her, she acted irritated like I was stalking her and was always in a hurry to get me off the phone with the same statement, "We're human beings and we're busy but we're doing our best to locate your bracelet. It's somewhere here!" Really?????!! Yes, I get it.. humans are not perfect and make mistakes. But what I do not get is her attitude towards her clients and the kind of business she's implying. Each time I spoke with her, she had a chance to do the right thing but she didn't. I waited for days.. weeks.. with no apology or remorse of what had happened. She didn't even have the decency to return my money until my item is found. After almost a month, she finally came to a conclusion and decision of offering me a replacement similar to my missing bracelet or pay for it because they couldn't find my item. Yes, she did take care of that part. However, I brought it to her attention that this incident should not be disregarded. It is BAD for their business.. This is not an isolated mistake. It reflects a failure in staff training, security protocol, and basic integrity. Yes, I was calling for accountability... clearly, someone committed theft and negligence. THIS MUST NOT BE TOLERATED! I did this review in hopes that this establishment and its owner will read this and take action so that no one has to go through what I did. read more

Avoid this Pawn Shop! Definitely not recommended. 5 Points Pawn Shop will low-ball your collateral for sure so you'll just waste time going there to get something priced. Recently, they offered me just $40 for an absolutely brand new, pristine $575 wristwatch I bought from Amazon not even a month prior. That's practically highway robbery. Instead, I highly recommend Assured Pawn Shop in Gardena. They're a lot more reasonable and fair with their valuations. If I can give a 0 star review I would. Went in today to conduct business by picking up a loan. The young woman who refused to give her name got pissed at me when I did not have a quarter as the interest was for an odd amount and she did not have change. You are a business where the majority of your transactions are done in CASH, so have change. She was incredibly rude, unpleasant and very unprofessional. When giving back my ring she "tossed" it back at me causing damage to it. Please remember "Miss sales clerk" the people that walk through your door are the reason YOU have a job.
