Holy high-prices Batman! I visited this shop a few days ago to look at their guitar selection. Upon walking in, I was politely greeted, which speaks for something. However, as someone who is familiar with the guitar market myself, I was shocked to see many of their used guitars priced higher than new. All it takes is for anyone to do a quick search on Guitar Center's app, Amazon, or just about anywhere else to see that their used prices are higher than new - no exaggeration. While I'm sure I could have haggled their prices down a bit to something acceptable, this setup just seemed like a bizarre starting point to work down from and not worth the effort. While they were nice people, they clearly don't understand the musical instrument business. If they do, they're preying on naïve shoppers who don't know any better. As such, I strongly doubt I'll visit here again on my next Pawn Shop tour. read more

These guys are a total scam. This was a family owned business until the original owners sold it 2 years ago. I wish I had known about the switch in ownership as I would of been more on top of the entire situation. I had been pawning with Assured for approx 3 years, and remember choosing the company because of its owners Carlo and his wife, who's business ethics and morals was built on trust, understanding and customer service above all. Their policy would of been to fire anyone who they felt misused their power or was trying to take advantage of a client. In tough moments, when the bills or the expense of being a single father with 2 kids got to heavy, and I am not proud to say it, entrust Assured with a very sacred irreplaceable Gold ring that was my great grandfathers and the only thing I had left from my fathers side of the family. Over the last few years I had received a small loan, usually $600 for a 24k ring that weighed approximately an ounce of gold. Forget the weight of the ring, it was a hand carved piece that could Never be remade or replicated... it was ancient. Always I paid in time, all 7 times that I brought it to them. This last time, I was forced to leave the country to help family who had become ill and upon hearing from my neighbor that a piece of mail from Assured had arrived at my home, I called and spoke to a young lady there. I explained that I was out of the country, asked if I could please pay the balance and or interest, and was told no I had to come in in Person. I was "assured" that a note would be made in my record and that I would be good. On my way back to LA, I gave a call, and let them know I was coming. The new owner of the store, sounded like a younger gentleman was given the phone and he explained to me that he was looking for the envelope and under thier glass counters and could not see or locate the ring. He then apologized and said that it probably got melted down with a bunch of gold the week prior. How someone could forget this ring and not be able to say whether or not he melted it down was an absolute farce. The rind was unique, and my intuition said that they had not melted it down, but had not interest in selling it back to me, as my relationship with them had finally caught up with me. It makes me sick writing this. Of course it served them to paint a picture that I was told I would only have a week which I obviously would not of agreed to or I would've found another solution has that been the case as I had no idea at the time how long I would have to be out of town on lifeline duty. Glenn was right, I should've never pond that item, but most importantly I shouldn't of pond it with a group of sharks Who despite my years of reoccurring business, waited for that one slip up so they could rake in their winnings and tell me that that was the name of the game. Do not be fooled by the friendly manner of these people, they are friendly like any other business, in hopes of getting your business, but really what they are hoping for, is that you bring them something of value and importance and that for whatever given reason, despite communicating or any type of past relationship with them, don't count on them to call you to clarify or remind you as Glenn so clearly put it, their business isn't making interest on loans, it's forclosing on whatever they can snatch up. I know, it'a the name of the Pawn Shop Game, Just don't be fooled by the family owned and opersted nonsense or the outdated website that represents this company as still being owned and operated by trustworthy and caring individuals who look out for their clients and community. This pawnshop has become just like every other pawn shop, but honestly, after my last conversation with them, I would say they are worst... save yourself the heartache, and go somewhere with a real reputation and history you can count on... a place with integrity and care... not a bunch of con men and facades who offer connection, compassion and appreciation, but only up until they get a chance to stick a... dagger in your heart. read more

On Tuesday 9:52 pm I saw an item that Assured Pawn had posted on Offer Up so I sent an inquiry message. To my surprise I got a response back 20 minutes later saying they'd need to make sure it was still in the store and they'd let me know. Before 10:30 the next morning they had followed up to tell me that it was still available. Over the course of a week I asked for follow up pictures, availability and condition of the item as I didn't have the money on hand and couldn't make it there anytime soon. They were awesome and accommodating except for not holding the item for me (which I totally agree with). I was able to grab the item a week later before anyone else snatched it up. Product was as described, fully functional and no sales pressure from them what so ever through the whole process. A+ customer service! read more

Don not go to this pawn shop. The guy in charge Glenn is crooked. Had my home burglarized. Cops told me my stuff was there and when I went i took pictures of the items that were stolen. The day I went to buy back my stuff, half of it was gone. What a coincidence only the valuable jewelry was missing. He gave me this excuse of how the melted it already. Even after the cops told him to hold it for me. The worst part was that the items belonged to my mom who had passed away a few months back. Now I'm soo pissed off .
