It was hard to give a star review. The pedicure I had was great, no complaints there. When it came to the gel manicure though there were a few problems. I picked out a tiger eye polish and was told it was $25 extra. I thought wow that's a lot, but I really wanted it so I agreed. He asked if I wanted my nails cut like normal and I said yes and round. He cut them and filed them square. He seemed to be in such a rush I did not want to say anything because I was a bit uncomfortable. Then even though they were square they weren't filed well. There were uneven edges and I had to go home and file the edges myself. When it came to applying the polish this is where I was very upset. My nail tech obviously had no idea how to use the tiger eye polish. A magnet is used to make it reflective and cause it to look like a tigers eye stone! He asked the nail tech next to him how to use it and this made me uneasy. He kept trying to do it correctly and the nail tech next to him kept having to grab my hands and do it for him this went on for 4 coats of the polish. So for $25 extra I had really high hopes for my nails to come out nice and I assumed if they had that polish everyone knew how to use it. Nope. My nails just look sparkly. They don't look like tiger eye at all. At this point when I saw how they actually looked I did not want to have him restart because they were so busy. But I had a 12pm appointment and for the $60 I spent on a simple gel manicure I thought it would've come out better. Not to mention he put lotion on my hands but completely missed my middle three fingers and only put lotion on my thumb and pinky? Also, no cuticle oil after or anything to help with the dry hands I left with. This is not my normal experience, but for spending $95 there total I was underwhelmed. read more

I've given this place chance after chance and I could not be LESS impressed with them. If you want a nail salon that cares about their customers do not go to Vida. My friend and I made appointments for pedicures and waited 45 minutes before being placed in a chair. We then proceeded to sit in the chair and wait for another 30 minutes. The place was packed and despite COVID regulations, they kept piling people in the doors to stand and wait. I had been desperately waiting for a pedicure and I left after keeping my feet in the water for 30 minutes because it was evident that they didn't care. I scheduled an appointment for a mani & pedi, unfortunately I was only able to get my pedi done. I showed the nail tech Jason a picture of the full set acrylics I wanted, which he said would cost $105 to do, knowing the nails weren't worth it I decided to change to a different look with no design, after going over prices again and agreeing on $75, which is still overpriced, there was another up charge on the nail length... it seems like they're focus is charging you as much as possible while rushing the job. Jason was extremely rude, and unprofessional leaving my nails looking worse then when they came in. I'm very upset to even write this but this is not the same place that I would go to a year ago with my daughter! The inside is beautiful and clean. The workers are attentive and hospitable. However when it comes to the actual finished product it needs more work. I booked an appointment around 11:30 earlier this month for a gel polish mani pedi and wasn't seen until 1. It was full but plenty of pedicure chairs were still open with plenty of staff. Writing this out it probably seems that I should've up and left but they had me moving seats throughout that hour time frame and I didn't realize time is flying by once I put my feet in the water. I told the woman (I will withhold her name) that because I had to wait for an hour and had to be home (40 minutes away) and still needed a manicure I would go with the $30 pedicure. We argued back and forth for a few minutes on which one I should get and I just went with the 40$ one even though I knew I wouldn't have time for the massage so it was pointless but still did it anyway so she would hurry. It was nice but not relaxing as I now didn't have time for the massage, the manicure and had to keep checking the clock. She told me the next time I came in that they would do the massage with no issues. A few days later, I drove all the way back to get my manicure and promised massage that I paid for. I wasn't able to get the leg and foot massage that was included but I could do a chair massage instead. It felt amazing but not what I wanted. The gentleman that did my manicure did not prep my nails correctly as they chipped two days later. And a week after the fact it was separating from the cuticle. I called to let the manager know what happened and that I would just like a refund at this point instead of me driving back out there. He insisted I come back in instead of me disputing the charge. I explained that I could only come on a Monday he replied come in anytime. I called today a woman picked up and I explained it again as the manager was not around and I had a feeling that I should book an appointment so they know it's me and i'm coming so i'm not waiting or have to pay for a service I already paid for and wasn't happy with and was specifically told it wasn't going to cost me anything. Well, it did. I got a measley $5 off after he didn't remember speaking to me and that was that. The color is nice but I won't be back! It just stinks because I've told a lot of people about this place prior to the past two incidents and even brought a coworker here today so she could get her nails done with me and we couldn't even be seated next to each other or anything. I'm giving this two stars for the decor and pedicures I have received in the past. I have never, in all my years of getting gel have had it start coming off within the first few days. read more

I have been going to Vida for years and the staff here is incredible. This place makes me feel like family. The staff is so dedicated to making sure I am relaxed. So much so I fell asleep during a pedicure Ms. Ruby gave me this week. I have had my nails done over the years by Ruby, Fiona, Steven and Chen and they are all amazing. If one of my nails chips or breaks they always fix it for me with no problem. The space is clean and bright and they use only the best products. I have seen the same nail tech in Connecticut for 10 years and was ready to try a new place close to home. I live less than 5 minutes away from Vida. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by a young woman who came right up to me and asked what i wanted and showed me where to pick out my color. I was a walk in and was taken right away. Coco did my nails. She took her time and all of the little things she did that I never got with my previous tech made me smile. And the ten minute massage that comes with every nail service is a nice perk! The entire salon is clean and no need to worry about the dust because they have a machine that sucks up the dust while they are doing your nails. When the COVID restrictions were lifted, I booked a well-deserved pedicure. I was really looking forward to some relaxing time with a bit of pampering. That's not what I got. A man came over to do my pedi. He was so rough I had to ask him to be gentler. He literally was hurting my feet and calves. After that he didn't even look at me. I called TWICE; asked for Cindy for my pedicure and Jen for my UV Gel manicure; I show up and NO JEN! The manager proceeds to telling me this when I arrived, as he walked me to his seat. My nails were thinner and well shaped prior to him doing them. The post fill is thick, all my nails sharp with different shapes. I had to cut short my pedicure with Cindy so I could get them redone. I love the pedicures here! I have gotten the mini spa pedicure twice and you cannot go wrong with it. You get to relax and feel pampered with a 10 min massage, hot stone, and cucumber treatment. I like that you never feel rushed when you are here. They truly take their time and let you enjoy the pedicure; however, they do get insanely busy on the weekend! I had a 1:00 appointment with my mom the past weekend and her weren't seen until 1:30. I definitely recommend an appointment and still be prepared to wait. I started coming here in March, consistently getting a full set, every 2 weeks. A few weeks ago, I started having issues waiting long amounts of time... over an hour wait every visit. My own fault- for walking in, so I started making appointments. June 19th, I arrive for an appt @12. I'm seated in a chair- but I wait there until 1:40.... When they finally begin my service, I ask when my daughter will be seen as we had a party at 2pm and our appt was for 12. First off, I called and asked if I could see STEVEN, whom did my nails on the 19th. They told me I could do my pedicure at 4:30 and see Steven at 5. 5 rolls around, and I'm not even in a pedicure chair. I get one- and immediately have issues. I was told 3 different prices while sitting in the chair. I kindly said I changed my mind on the gel, as the pricing wasn't making sense. Again- I come here often. So I was confused why it was a different price for the same service I always receive? (For context- I get the same color and a flower on my toe, every time) So at this point, I again decline the gel. Multiple times during my service, my pedicure tech got up- to talk about me with other workers. Flailing his arms at me and asking why I didn't want gel anymore? I again, decline as Im uncomfortable with the price difference. He told me "you don't go to this salon" insisting that I had never been there? At this point, I point over to the Manager, Steven and say "that's not true. He did my nails 2 weeks ago and I have an appt with him after this". I also asked for the steam machine to be turned on and he told me "later"- which never came. I cried twice during my service. It was painful, He cut my foot, honestly- I believe because he was angry at me by then and being very rough. My "flower" that he said was $5- cost me $10, and it's not at all what I asked for. After all this, my 5pm appointment with Steven???? DIDN'T HAPPEN? He had JUST sat down another client and they brought me to pay. I left, not even bothering to correct them about the manicure appts for my daughter and I. I Went the next day, to a new salon, paying for an entirely new pedicure and to find a new tech for my nails. Clearly I am never returning... I'll end by saying- that party I was late to on the 19th? I learned through conversation that a family member of mine also walked out of Vida recently, after they forgot her soaking in the pedi chairs for over an hour. She said "I dried my feet and walked out". Do better. Respect your loyal customers who show up and support you weekly. Went today and got a gel manicure. Less than 12 hours later my nails are already chipped. They told me a normal polish manicure was $15 and then kept asking me to upgrade to gel polish and then charged me $45 once I finally caved. I have a couple gel polishes at home and about $12 for them cost $20. They also did not ask what shape I wanted or if I wanted a cut down or not and just completely filed down my nails that I have been working really hard on growing out. I was a walk in appointment so I understand if there were other customers waiting but there is no excuse for being rushed, I would have rather waited for availability. I've only been here twice and all I can say is horrible service and extremely over priced. read more

TERRIBLE, wish I could give less than one star. Please know that I never have time to write reviews and try to do so when my service is completely amazing or completely awful for my fellow paying customers. Unfortunately in this case, it was the most terrible experience I've ever had. Before I get into my nail experience, I do want to say that my pedicure by David was amazing but the nail service to follow unfortunately trumped the good part of my services. I went here back and March but haven't written about my awful experience until now. The woman who did my nails was apparently the "manager" the owners wife (and that's probably the only reason she's the manager) because for 1. her customer service was terrible and 2. her nail job was even worse. I got the gel extension for the first time but I knew that before she filed them after the gel was hardened that it wasn't the shape I was looking for. So as a paying customer I was trying to explain to her that it's not the shape I wanted, her response said very rudely "stop, just stop (with her hand up) I'm not even finished, tell me at the end" I was so taken back at her response that I felt uncomfortable for the rest of the visit. She was rushing the whole time and a complete bitch to put it lightly. The girl next to me getting her nails done looked at me with complete disbelief. I was there getting my nails done for 2 1/2 hours. I was the last customer there because it was well over an hour after they closed. At the end of the service when it came to paying I told the owner how terrible my nail service was which he could clearly see for himself. I also made sure that he knew how happy I was with my pedicure. I showed him a picture of the nails I was wanted (which I showed his wife a few times during the services) VS the terrible nail job I received. Of course he's going to defend his wife who is sitting right there so he says "well, in my opinion that's not the shape I would've picked" I told him that it doesn't matter about the shape and his opinion, the shape she gave me doesn't even look like the shape I wanted. He then proceeds to tell me how they have several people who get the gel service on Saturdays and when it grows out, it will look better and that they could fix the shape. Mind you, he's the OWNER and is clearly looking at what a shitty job his wife did but won't admit it because obviously that's his wife. I wonder if it were any other nail tech or any customers were there, If this conversation would've went differently. At this point, I'm so frustrated and hungry that I ended up paying $70 for my nails and whatever my pedicure cost because the owner didn't even offer to comp my nail service or offer a discount. After leaving I had to go buy a drill at CVS to fix my nails because I was leaving for Jamaica the next morning. During my layover I called the nail salon because I was so frustrated that I paid for those nails that I wanted a refund. The owner wasn't available, so I sent a Facebook message, no response. A few days passed, I sent another message, no response. Called again, this time I left a message for the owner to call me back, no call back. I go here once a month and it is always a wonderful experience! The staff is welcoming and friendly. My friend and I got the Spa pedicure and it was so relaxing. The massage chairs are nice and they offered a lot for a reasonable price: hot stones, exfoliating, massage, steaming, cucumber treatment, etc. They gave an amazing and free massage while my nails were drying. Hands down one of the best massages I've had in a long time. They are strict with following Covid protocols. I feel very comfortable going there in the midst of this pandemic. read more
