Were my review based solely on the ladies' attitudes and personalities, I'd give them more than 1 star... HOWEVER, my wedding experience with them summed up in one word was: disappointing. My family is huge and all hands were on deck that day. My one request from Vida Chic and Chavah Grant that I re-iterated a dozen times was that it was MOST important that my family do as MINIMUM set up and MINIMUM break down as possible. This shouldn't have been difficult since absolutely everything was organized in detail to the 't' and they still would have had many helping hands regardless. When I say "organized", I mean ORGANIZED OCD LEVEL. Everything was delivered and ready in clear containers that were clearly labeled with everything in them, ready for set up. We had a detailed timeline that everyone had copies of. It was foolproof which should have allowed my family - namely, my OWN MOM and aunties- to just sit back and enjoy the wedding. This couldn't happen because nothing would have gotten done. I paid Vida Chic for day-of assistance which we still had meetings to prepare for and it seemed as though they understood my expectations. Come the day of, Chavah Grant who was SUPPOSED to be present as she had been my only point of contact, was NOT present for the wedding at all. She left everything to two (nice but unprepared) ladies who had no real idea of what we had discussed apparently. I can't even get upset with them since I never had an opportunity to meet with THEM to tell them what I wanted them to be responsible for. Specifically, all I asked for was: - the tables set up with the runner and centerpiece -the runners and centerpieces put back in boxes afterward -the aisle runner and the signs be layed down and then put away - the candy items for the candy table be set up and taken down - help my family accomplish this ...Seeing my family hustle they even TOLD ME "yeah wow! Your family's got everything covered!" No kidding, Sherlock!! They didn't have a choice!!! All in all, I would never use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. When we called Chavah after the wedding to let her know that we weren't thrilled with the service, she was "surprised" since she heard "it all went so smoothly" and she made excuses for their not delivering what was honored in the contract. No attempt to even apologize was made. Of course it went smoothly!! My mom and aunties made sure of that but had they left it to Vida Chic, it would have been a mess!! Look elsewhere for your wedding needs. I can't speak for other events. read more

Chavah was amazing throughout the entire process of planning a wedding. Our day was absolutely perfect. Our guests continually commented about how "on top of things" Chavah was throughout the wedding day. Prior to, Chavah helped with vendor recommendations, payments, tracking down invoices, creating stationary templates, florals, timeline, and other details we would have missed. Yes, she is super busy, but always came through to execute. She was also very understanding of my need to change my mind on rentals, florals, etc. The day of my wedding, before guest arrival, I walked through the reception area and fell in love with everything. The welcome table was perfect, bar decorated super cute, seating chart and reception table seating exactly how I had requested. She was super fun and sweet and I would highly recommend her services. Chavah and Julie were THE BEST!!! I always wondered why people would hire a wedding planner... well.. guess what... I found out!! She organized everything, kept in touch with me, had a fab online site to coordinate me and all my vendors... and that was all before the big day. I absolutely could not have done it without her the day of the wedding! She helped get my guests on base (my dad is military and had our wedding on Hickam AFB), she decorated, she directed, she took care of little issues that ALWAYS come up... and... she did it with grace, style and a huge smile. I am a project manager by profession so I really didn't think I needed a wedding planner or day of coordinator. That being said I could not be more thankful I hired Chavah and her team to help for my special day. I never thought having a destination wedding would be so difficult, but Chavah and her team were ready for anything anyone (vendors, weather, life) threw at me. They were a few steps ahead of me every step of the day. Not only were they amazing at communicating, they also had an awesome online program we used to communicate (tasks, budgets, timelines, etc). Chavah recommended wonderful vendors for our hair/makeup and rentals. She was also great about being hands on to take out the trash after the wedding. Besides that, I can't say that having Vida Chic as our day-of coordinator relieved my stress by any means. Planning this wedding from Denver and being very Type A, I would have appreciated much better communication from them. A simple email saying "X got done" or "Here's the timeline we drafted" goes such a long way in terms of relieving a bride's anxiety and stress...which you'd think a professional would understand. Honestly, I put together the layout, timeline, everything anyway, and it would have been so much less stressful for me to simply do it all myself instead of waiting...and waiting...and waiting for Vida Chic to give me anything. If I hadn't been so Type A and had everything that needed to get done written out and if I hadn't had such amazing family and friends helping us on the day of, there is no way Chavah and her "assistant" would have been able to execute everything. As it was, Gentry, her actual assistant, came to our rehearsal, but told us that she wouldn't be helping on the day of. Then...why bother coming?? And who does Chavah bring in her assistant's place? Her mother. I have a feeling that if Gentry had been able to assist that day, some things would have gone smoother...like the 300 loose white orchids I ordered would have been put out on the tables with the centerpieces instead of being left in the fridge all night...the chairs would have been brought up from the ceremony lawn during cocktail hour (instead of my cousins realizing they still didn't have seats right before dinner and having to bring them up themselves)...tables would have actually been released promptly for dinner. As it was, I was told that I wouldn't have to lift a finger. I knew that wouldn't be the case and I was fine with that, but it is extremely annoying to pay for that extra help and then find out day of that your coordinator's mom expects you, the bride, to take the chairs down to the ceremony site and such when you could be doing other things like putting out those dang flowers! I do not feel like having Vida Chic as our day-of coordinator was worth it. I felt like they were too busy to treat us like we deserved to be treated and made to feel like a priority, and even having as much help as we did on the day of, we felt like they dropped the ball on executing our vision and making our day special for us. read more

I had my wedding on 4/6/19 - planned with Chavah. We did the partial-planning but nothing about it felt partial. Chavah went over and above for my Wife and I. From the updated check-lists online throughout each week, to the monthly, then weekly, then daily calls. It took A LOT of the pressure off of my wife and I could not have been happier about it. After almost a year of planning, I can honestly say that I wish we had planned our own wedding. While Chavah was very personable, we were disappointed with the spotty communication and organization leading up to and on the day of our wedding. There seemed to be a lack of attention to detail which was very disappointing especially when you pay for a service like this. I thought hiring a planner would take away all the stress of planning. Unfortunately, I was very stressed and didn't feel like I was able to fully enjoy my own wedding. It's been over a month since our wedding and it still upsets me that a lot of my wedding day was spent being disappointed. **Update** In response to Vida Chic's comment, I would like to make it clear that there were things we paid for that were not delivered. For example we paid for chair BOUQUETS and what we got was a single flower in a mini mason jar. We spent over $200 for this. If your customers request something and pay for a specific item they should get what they paid for. If changes are made to the design, they should also be informed, which we weren't. Our centerpieces were supposed to have had more flowers, we paid nearly $1700 for them and it lacked the amount of flowers we had discussed. As paying customers we were very disappointed with what we got in the end. Instead of trying to deflect blame onto your vendors you should own up to the fact that you didn't care enough to follow through with the things you promised and the services we paid for. Furthermore, after emailing you about concerns we had following our wedding, we never heard back from you in regards to the issue with the caterer and the drunk bartender or the mix up with the lei order. Also, if you still have that piece of our wedding cake in the freezer we would sure like it because we never received it :( :( read more

Chavah by far exceeds everything we have wanted in a wedding planner. She is down to earth, professional, persistent, hardworking, cool and collective. Our wedding was everything we envision and more thanks to her hard work. We got married 2 weeks ago in Turtle Bay Resort. As we all know planning a destination wedding can be nerve wrecking. We are from Seattle and the biggest obstacle is finding the "right" planner. We research endlessly every night and even got referrals from friends. Out of luck I found Chavah through Thumbtack.com. A couples of emails here and there, the next thing I knew we were on the phone discussing our wedding vision. We told her exactly what we wanted to spend. She never once told us that our budget was hard to work with because that is what we were told by other planners. We knew right there she was good. From the beginning we never ran across any major problems. She kept us informed and on track on what we needed to do on our end. On her end, she was persistent on getting answers we needed when we didn't hear back from the vendors and got nervous. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is where it needs to be no matter how many times she has to drive or call the vendors. When we met at the rehearsal walk through the day before the wedding, I knew by her personality that she was genuine and loved seeing her clients/friends happy. On the day of the wedding,we were speechless on how beautiful things were. She was so meticulous on every single details. I'm still in shock and in awe looking at our wedding photos. After thinking about the events that has happened on my wedding day I think its time to really tell you how disappointed I was with Chavah's service. When I first contacted Chavah regarding my wedding I was excited to work with her. She took the time to face-time me at my reception venue because I lived in CA and was unable to see it. She also worked with-in my budget. As the wedding date got closer it was hard to get a hold of her. I emailed her about my escort cards and menu cards that were supposed to be set on the table. I did not receive any template for these items. I gave authorization for her to print the escort cards and menus with a photo of orchids that I have provided for a the border of the cards and menu. This authorization was done on the DAY OF my wedding! The day of our wedding comes and I am expecting my bouquet and boutonniere to come to my hotel at 11am. 11am and nothing is here. I had my day of coordinator call her and no answer. When we did get a hold of her she said that the delivery didn't come the night before and that's why we didn't have the flowers. My ceremony started at 2pm. Between 11am and 1:30pm no flowers in sight. A 1:50pm 10 minutes before my ceremony I get my flowers. My bouquet is the same size and style as my bridemaid's bouquet. Why is there a cost difference for a bouquet that is same everything?!?! Also the flowers were held together with white maskin type like and there were thorns on the bouquets. To top that my husband didn't have a boutonniere and everyone wondered why he didn't have one? Hmmm..... We also were suppose to have my centerpieces down the aisle as décor for the ceremony but they didn't come. After the ceremony (1hr after we received the flower) was over the flowers are limp and wilted. This is unacceptable. We had to angle and hold the flowers in certain ways to make sure that the flowers looked presentable in pictures! I do appreciate Chavah for taking time to setup my reception, adding some things like an easel and gift box (items which were not approved by me) and reimbursing $563. However, the reimbursement is not enough for the flowers that were given to me. The additional items do not come close to even for the flowers. I am very disappointed with her service and should be reimbursed for all the bouquets. read more

Chavah is a life saver! She is more than advertised, very modest, calm, cool and collected during a very stressful time. Just what we hired her for. We were very lucky to have her as our wedding planner. Worth every penny and more. Initially, we weren't going to hire a wedding planner and thought we could coordinate and book all our own vendors from our computer.  We are a couple from Canada and had a vision of what we wanted for the wedding.  For anyone who has been to Hawaii, the local vendors aren't always prompt with communication, which can be stressful. We felt overwhelmed by the complexity involved in planning a destination wedding, but trust us with someone like Chavah and her team, you will not regret a thing, except why didn't you hire her sooner.  She was able to provide us with a list of experienced vendors, meet with us frequently to go over our wishes and ideas, advise us with an honest opinion, organize our contracted vendors, troubleshoot all the little loose ends that no one thinks about, keep us calm and informed, store our alcohol, provide us with our floral arrangements and arch and bring us appetizers while having pictures taken. She even helped us with some difficult vendors after our wedding day, while we were back home!  It is hard to quantify all that she does and can do, but we had a lot of faith in her and she delivered. She never said 'no' to any of our ideas and wishes. We regret that she couldn't control the weather conditions, but I'm sure she will work on that. We hired a wedding planner but we feel like we gained a lifelong friend.  She is worth every penny! We hired Chavah from Vida Chic for as our day of coordinator. But she went above and beyond her day of coordinator duties. Planning a wedding is difficult enough, but a destination wedding in Hawaii from California seemed impossible. My fiancé and in-laws took a trip to Hawaii a year prior to our wedding. Chavah was referred to us by our venue manager, and I'm so glad she did. From day one Chavah was very professional! She answered all our questions and catered to all of our needs. She made sure that our kids table was stocked with little games to keep the little ones entertained. She donated sodas to us that we weren't able to purchase in time, and provided clear cups in the last minute when we couldn't find it at Costco. She accommodated to all of our family and friends surprise performances. And most importantly kept it all from us! She was very attentive to my needs, asking for my opinion before executing any decisions. And even after the wedding, she was able to donate all of my floral arrangements to a local Convalescent home. Chavah is an incredible coordinator, and it was a pleasure working with her! read more

We got married at Kualoa Ranch on October 7th and I can't say it enough, Chavah and her team are incredible!!! Seriously, if you're planning a destination or local wedding in Hawaii, I would highly recommend hiring Vida Chic to turn your vision into a fairytale of epic proportions! Having a little planning experience myself, I was originally hoping to save a few $$ and plan my own wedding. But, with medical school classes, upcoming Board exams, and life in general, the whole process got really overwhelming. So, we bit the bullet and decided to hire a planner. I am SO thrilled that we chose Chavah and Vida Chic. Chavah completely understood our vision, was responsive to my many questions, and super patient with my indecisiveness about everything :) I especially appreciated her willingness to "drop in" on our venue (multiple times) when they stopped answering emails and started stressing me out! Chavah went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. The decor was breathtaking and the day flowed perfectly. She had a lot of fantastic suggestions for vendors that saved us a little money too! I think I was a pretty low maintenance bride who worked best communicating via email (sent randomly whenever I found time between clinic, class, and studying) and found that she typically responded within a few days, which was fine for me. We also had a few update calls to walk through all of the emails and logistics. I think the highest praise I can give is that on my wedding day I never once worried about the logistics, flowers, decor, cake, music etc. I felt 100% confident that everything would be perfect, and it was!
