When booking online I always get a response within the day either confirming or letting me know they are already booked. I really appreciate that! We just hosted a birthday party for my 4 year old granddaughter and 60 guests and were happy to have balloon artist Gideon return! Gideon is always on time, comes 20-30 min ahead of time to set up, brings his own extension cord for outlet, and is prepared with all tools, supplies and signage. He has a nice picture board showing all the designs both classic and new that may appeal to your guests, young and old alike! This year the popular item was a balloon purse holding a puppy! But he also did some beautiful large Unicorns, cute backpacks, swords, and I saw many other colorful creations! We reserved him for two hours and he sculpted about 50-60 art within that time frame. The prices are so reasonable and you really get the best bang for your buck because he is always the WOW of the party! Gideon is VERY professional, dresses nice, easy set up and is patient with the children. Their entire family is involved in this business so no matter which artist comes to your party, you will be thrilled and so will your guests! We chose Oahu Wedding Villas & Venues (formerly Hale Koa Estate) because we loved the concept of…read morehaving our guests stay on-site. It was perfect for our grandparents and several friends traveling from off-island. They could relax in their rooms, freshen up between events, and easily return to the celebration. It also allowed us to host our rehearsal dinner on the property without needing to book a second venue. On paper, it sounded like the perfect fit, and the property itself is undeniably beautiful. Unfortunately, the management and overall experience were incredibly disappointing. From the moment we arrived for our week long stay, there was no check-in process whatsoever. The front door was simply unlocked, and no one greeted us or explained anything. Throughout our stay, management was nearly impossible to find whenever we had questions or needed assistance. The venue itself also needs much more upkeep than the photos suggest. The white ceremony chairs had clearly not been cleaned in quite some time. We couldn't find a single chair that was actually clean. The folding tables were in poor condition, with rough edges that actually gave some of our guests splinters while setting up. Even the "white" linens were inconsistent, with some being white and others noticeably cream-colored. Once the wedding day began, there was essentially no support from management. If we needed anything, there was no one readily available. At checkout, we had to call multiple staff members several times before we were finally able to reach someone. Thankfully, the housekeeping and landscaping staff who were nearby were kind and helpful, but they should not have been put in the position of helping with issues that management should have handled. Our biggest disappointment was with the manager, Phineas (who also goes by Pitambar). Throughout the planning process and during our stay, we experienced repeated promises that were never followed through on. Communication was inconsistent, and many commitments simply didn't happen. The property itself has so much potential, but it is far from a plug-and-play wedding venue. It requires significant coordination, flexibility, and an experienced planning team to make everything run smoothly. If you're considering booking here, do your homework. It appears that management has changed several times over the years, and many couples have had very different experiences depending on who was running the venue at the time. The location is beautiful, and the idea behind it is wonderful. Unfortunately, the lack of organization, poor maintenance, and absence of reliable management made what should have been a seamless experience much more stressful than it needed to be.
