Great bbq even if I didn't order it. Went to Vic Inn last night. Ordered the picked 2, and was quickly berated by the server who corrected me when ordering as I asked my sides first... note to self don't do that ever again. I ordered the St. Louis style ribs and burnt ends and 2 sides , baked beans and Mac n cheese. We found a table and waited our food. Same girl who took our order walked up with a 2 meat/2 sides meal and wings. Neither looked like ours and we really couldn't hear her with the band playing. Told her sorry this is not our food. She walked away and then came back and placed the meal in front of me very matter of fact, put it down and said this IS yours. After the level of attitude out of this young lady, I just took it and ate it. Meat was good but not what I ordered. Leaving there another waitress and myself was passing. Servers are always busy so I moved out of her way to pass. Rudely she put her hand out by her side and pointed to the door!!! I don't know if we picked a bad night but dang!! I've had more pleasantries at a colonoscopy, and that's a pretty crappy experience Food was good but so as your told, eat what they give you, and stay out of their way, and you'll be good to go read more

If I could I would give this establishment 0 stars, service is laughable and servers are beyond rude. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and fries. The best part was the fries which should tell you something, we waited over an hour 1/2 for our bill and I was overcharged it was clear whoever was managing the restaurant had no idea how to do so. This is the definition of a dive bar. Dark, cold, and smoky - a great place for vampires and gentlemen looking to drink some ice cold beer in the middle of the day. 1 waitress, 1 bartender, & 1 cook - that's it. A few TVs - not flatscreens - with NASCAR, KENO, and Sportscenter are behind the bar. Walking in I was immediately uncomfortable, many stares from obvious regulars toward the n00b who'd never been here. Couldn't tell who the waitress/hostess was until she came up and asked if I needed help. I order a Shiner Bock & sit down. I wait & wait & wait...until I notice people walking up to the kitchen. At Victory Inn, they don't mess around with waitress service for your food. You go up to the window, place your order, & pay all at the counter - kind of like a fast food joint. I ordered a cup of supreme chili & a corned beef sandwich "Belgian style," which came with the waitress's highest recommendation. First of all, let me point out that I was over my initial discomfort immediately after meeting the hostess/waitress. She was wonderful and brought my Shiner Bock quickly along with a mug. When I asked her about food, she walked me up to counter and went through the menu with me. Once she figured out I was new, she was nothing but helpful. You can't put a price on great service. On to the food, I wasn't expecting to be blown away, but I have to say the food here is pretty damn good. The chili was smoky, spicy, & had good depth of flavor. The addition of cheese & diced onions (i.e. supreme) was perfect. However, the sadwich was really impressive. The corned beef was moist & flavorful, the cole slaw (i.e. Belgian style) was creamy & sweet, and the swiss cheese added another dimension of flavor. The best part? Rye bread grilled to absolute perfection - I mean crusty & chewy. Grilling that could only be done on a well seasoned (read: old) grill & by a good cook. Seriously, this sandwich was excellent & reason enough to check out the Victory Inn. Some other reasons: Tuesday is 50 cent Coney day. A hot dog with that chili is probably pretty great. I overheard the bartender charging someone $1.25 for a draught beer, so add cheap beer to the list (even though the beers are not exciting - all Macros). Finally, the service. I don't have many complaints. This is a hole in the wall bar that serves food until 11pm thru a self serve window. Waitress' do exist, but only to serve drinks. We had the BBQ chicken pizza, six slices for $6.95, & it was delicious. I also had the clam chowder and it was amazing! The place was one big room with lots of seating. There were groups of guys & tables of families. There were a few older people hanging out that seemed to have a staring problem, but seemed harmless. Almost like the rednecks you'd find in my hometown bar up north. I would def go back here again. There was a jukebox playing music and plenty of tv's displaying the Wing's game & NCAA tourneys. Drink prices seemed reasonable if I remember right too. All the staff were very friendly too! The menu was small, just typical bar food. Fine food and establishment. Met my expectation. There is better barbecue out there for sure (looking at you Slow's), but this isn't bad BBQ by any means. Had a sampler to try the various meats - the burnt ends are solid and the best thing on the menu by far. I would come back for them, but everything else is meh. The Victory Inn has been at that location forever! It is a nice, neighborhood bar. Even though you may not be a regular there, everyone makes you feel at home. they have very reasonable drink prices. Just like you would expect in your favorite neighborhood bar. As for food, they have specials that they post on their marquee on the front of the bar. They don't have a fryer, so there are no fried foods. Luckily, they have the Victory Smokehouse right next-door. You order at the smokehouse and the food will be brought to you. Look to the Victory Smokehouse site on Yelp for my review for them. I gave the server a little extra tip, considering she had to clear dishes and deliver sides. I have to remember about this place a little more often. read more

What a disappointment!! I have been eating the barbecue here since 2015 when you had to go outside and place your order. I would visit here once at least maybe twice a week the barbecue was what I considered some of the best if not the best barbecue in metro Detroit. Until last night the only reason I quit going to victory is I moved over to the Novi area but was craving some barbecue and had to go to my sisters house which is just right around the corner. I called in my order and when I went to pick it up I was surprised to see the nice remodeling they had done to the place. I paid for order and went to my sisters house on 13 and mound just a little over a mile away. Started to eat the barbecue and the smoked Turkey had no smoked flavor whatsoever no smoke ring just a burned outer crust then my burnt ends were nothing but fat and very little meat not sure if they just did that because it was a carry out order or if all their other food has gone downhill. Let me say once again I use to eat at this place once a week for almost 3 years and never complained once about the food don't know if they decided to worry about the new look of the building and let the food go downhill or just caught them on a bad night but very disappointed to have driven over 30 miles to get barbecue and it was horrible read more

Very nice casual place to hang out and have a few drinks. The staff was friendly, and the food was real good. We hosted a birthday party here, and they took real good care of us. My wife and I both had barbecue from next-door, which was excellent. Would definitely consider coming back for a drink sometime. read more

Divey, dark, and warm. You can see why the regulars come here, the employees are very friendly and treat everyone like family. This place is great to come have some beers and good food with some your buddies. 8 newer flat screen TVs to watch sports was a nice surprise I didn't expect that. Nothing fancy by a long shot. However it is pretty clean, friendly staff, good beer selection and really good prices. Being right down the road we have lunch there at least once a week. The pretzel burger is really good. Had a turkey panini today. It was very good. Overall, not a place to take a date for a romantic night out, but, if you guys are in the mood for a good burger, beer and sporting event, not a bad place to hang out. read more

Unfortunately all the building improvements in the world can not make up a mediocre bar burger (BBQ not available as this writing). The 5 Guys across the street would have been a better option. from the outside you would think this place is a regular, run of the mill, diner. then you enter. and its a dive. a serious dive bar. popcorn machine, golden tee, guys off from their job, cold beer bar. the bar is the highlight in this place. its the entire length of the room. the bar seats probably 20 people. the waitresses are nice and fast and the beer is big and cheap. the food, is ordered through a hole in the wall and paid for on order. i have to say, i had a really good burger. a dive should make a good burger and they did. they also had good chili and a delicious belgian sandwich. really a corned beef with cole slaw. grilled hot and tasty. this is really a laid back, easy kind of place and i will return. love, juston read more

So, after a week of calling and being told to call back for availability, since they cannot reserve for sure over the phone, they told me today that they now have a group coming in and cannot rent me a room. I have actually never been here, but my wife was here last night with her sister and brother in law and she brought me home a bowl of cheeseburger soup. It was absolutely awesome!! Probably the best tasting soup I ever had, though probably not the healthiest. Anyway, my wife said the food was excellent and very reasonable, and they had a variety of great beers on tap. The bill for all three of them with food and drinks was $20. Oh yeah, I should mention that they only have the cheeseburge soup every other Wednesday. read more

Defiantly a dive bar, came here for lunch, the food quality for the victory in was mediocre. I would be willing to go back to check out the smokehouse truck outside. I ordered the belgian ruben, they served it with better made chips. It was basically lunch meat with coleslaw on toasted white bread. Ordering was kind of confusing, you come in and order in a window and they take your name if you are paying with a credit card, once you sit down you then order drinks, and they come deliver your food to you. when you check out they ask for your name and bring you your bill. There is a service charge if your bill is under 10 dollars and you pay with a credit card. Service was great and servers were kind, I would come back and knock a few back after work. BBQ is in the back in a couple large shipping containers. Tri-tip was quite dry. Burnt ends weren't bad and the sausage was okay but prob wouldn't get again. Ordered a pound of meat and got one small cup of BBQ sauce in my carryout. Mac n cheese wasn't bad and prob the best thing next to the burnt ends. BBQ sauce was actually quite good. BBQ isn't really my thing but I'll have it every once in awhile. This should prob be three stars but I didn't hate it. read more

This place is AMAZING! my office eats here all the time. Food is great like really great! We've had everything on the menu I really love the Mexican Panini I always recommend the meatloaf all their soups are to die for. Especially their specialty soups like taco, Pot pie, (they give you pieces of crust on the side) stuffed green pepper soup love love love it and of course everyone's favorite cheeseburger soup! Thursday is the meatloaf is moist and the mashed potatoes are ffilling. Every couple months when you catch them at the right time they have the Polish platter. --now that's something. ALSO if you didn't think you could get any better it does! There smokehouse. !!!! Outside they have an extended smokehouse and their meat is delicious I recommend the pulled pork but they have all types whatever you like I'm sure they have it.
