I bought some pretty new dresses, and I could wear none of them because I did not have bras that would work with those dresses. I was not even sure of my proper size anymore, and knew it was time to finally be fitted properly for a bra. I made an appointment online with Linda's Bra Salon. It took us one hour to get there, and it was totally worth it. My fitter, Lori, put me completely at ease. She was professional, compassionate, knowledgeable and funny. She made me feel very comfortable when she was measuring me and helping me trying on bras. She said that most women wear the wrong bra size, and I was most definitely one of them. She helped me try on a lot of bras, and found the perfect bra that would work with the new dresses. (I brought the dresses with me to the fitting so I could try them on with the bras). I ended up buying 5 bras. No hard sell. The bras are beautiful, they feel so comfortable, and I ended up wearing one of them out of the store. Prices are about what you would expect to pay for a good bra. They will even ship bras to you if you can't make it back to the store. They have an enormous selection of bras, even outside of the "mainstream" sizes. I really felt so good about this experience. I was treated with dignity, with compassion and with respect. I don't think I can ever buy an ill fitting bra online again.

She put me immediately at ease during my session - helping me understand (and get into!) poses, doing a wonderful job of pulling out my wants (even when I was struggling to articulate them clearly). It's so easy to feel self-conscious as the center of attention or while being photographed, but Adrian creates such a safe and fun environment, I was never uncomfortable for even a moment. I've been going to this torrid in he cherry hill mall for 2 years now, almost 3. Might I say, I've…read morenever felt more accepted, loved and so well taken care of than in any other store. I was referred to by a friend after I had my son, and was close to 260 pounds, a size 24. I knew of no other plus sized store, other than fashion bug that closed down a few months prior to my son being born. I had little to no clothes and I was in desperate need. She told me, though pricy, torrid was excellent. I went one weekend, a little apprehensive, from previous negative experiences at clothing stores, but this store was different. When entering, I expected teeny little women bouncing up to me, asking me when size I wore, and referring me to a small section with floral print and Mumu dresses. No. I was greeted kindly by the manager that worked there, and she must have saw the fear, for she helped me personally. She was very kind, (dezzy I believe is her name, forgive me if its not.), everyone was plus sized which made me feel welcomed automatically, and no one judged. I explained that I was the heaviest I've been and I needed a whole new wardrobe. She helped me size myself, and helped me from bras, to wedges. Everything I needed. $1000.00 dollars, a platinum membership, and a beautiful wardrobe later, I never felt so alive, so beautiful, so normal, so accepted. Sense than, they changed their fashion two fold. they redesigned their store, changed up their fashion from skulls and patterns, to more sophisticated looking modern clothes. i liked the patterns, but they were getting a little old. I lost about 50 pounds sense that first day, and now my heart breaks for I am "sizing out" (can no longer fit most of their clothes) but I hear, they are going to 00 and dropping their pants down to a size 10, which may allow me to stay around for a little longer. Just recently I bought my wedding dress from them (something simple and modest) and still like to get my sweaters and jeans. I love this store, everyone is so kind and accepting, I can go here and ALWAYS find something that fits perfectly; from top to bottom. Even if somehow I do "size out" I will still visit and buy their fun shoes and tights, at least my feet and thighs will remain big Thankyou Torrid, for making me feel beautiful again.

Each year for my birthday I pick a fun experience to treat myself to, and this year one of them was…read morepictures. I chose boudoir as I havent done it before and I was feeling not so great about my body recently. I am SO glad I did it! Since i dont live in Philly I booked a hotel nearby and made a weekend of it. I was the first shoot of the day so I arrived at the studio the same time as my photographer Shannon and she was so great! We got in and got settled quickly then talked through the "why" of why I chose boudoir then we went through the items i brought and some that they had to pick my outfits. I opted to have them do my makeup since i pretty much suck at it and it was much cheaper than going out to buy all the items I would need. Shannon did a great job at it and I kept "my face on" the rest of the day and got so many compliments. Then on to the actual photos. I felt so comfortable in the presence of a stranger dressing down to lingerie and this is mostly because Shannon has such a great personality. She makes you feel comfortable. The poses were fun and she demonstrated each one and answered questions as we went through. i get kinda awkward with my hands so it was nice to have someone re adjust them and make sure every piece of hair was in the right place. it really showed in the photos i received! I had given myself a limit ahead of time as to how many pictures i would purchase so that I wouldn't go crazy and it was easy to go crazy. they sent me about 90 photos both in color and black and white and I loved a lot of them. Those i didnt love wasnt anyone's fault but my own.. I didnt love the third outfit i chose for myself and I didnt work on my "sexy face" as the website suggest so i felt some looked a little awkward, kinda like me trying to hard to be sexy. Overall i have some great shots from the shoot and some awesome birthday memories! I got the digital prints (they send them in color and in black and white) so i cant wait to make canvases of them to display in my walk in closet. Now every time i go to get dressed i'll be reminded of how beautiful i am stripped down.
