Prior to the 10:30 appointment time, I called Ulta to let them know we'd be a few minutes late, but we were en route. They said no problem. We arrive 5minutes late and enter the store. No one greets us. No one tells us where to go for the makeup appointment. After figuring out we needed to go to the salon, we were informed that Amber M., our assigned makeup artist, took another customer during our scheduled appointment time. After waiting an additional 10 minutes for Amber M. to finish with the customer she decided to take during my appointment time, it's now finally my turn. At this point, there's only 10minutes left of my scheduled time. Amber M. proceeded to ask me questions regarding what I was looking for during this tutorial. She seemed annoyed when I lacked the knowledge to know what to ask for. The whole point of signing up for a makeup tutorial is to learn. She did not care or take this into consideration. She expected me to know exactly what I wanted and responded rudely when I did not give her the answers she wanted. Amber M. then left for several minutes to grab makeup from the shelves. When she returned it was now after 11am and we were into my mom's appointment time. Amber M. proceeded to tell me that she didn't realize I booked 2 appointments for 2 people and that her next appointment was at 11:30. Amber M. then began to berate me stating we arrived 20minutes late to the initial appointment, when in reality, when we arrived, we waited an additional 10minutes on Amber M. to finish up with another customer, a child, that SHE chose to take during OUR previously scheduled appointment time. Needless to say we left due to this unprofessional and seemingly prejudice treatment. I will never set foot in that location again. Stay far away from Ulta in Marlton, NJ and far away from Amber M. if you're a minority looking for a pleasant experience. You won't find it here.

Went to the store within their seven day return/exchange policy to exchange or get a store credit. Before I could ask for the exchange or credit the cashier bluntly stated "we can't accept that because it was opened". Their return policy on the receipt states "product must be in original condition and package (With all tags attached) for returns/exchanges."' No where does it states that the packages couldn't be opened. Exactly how are you to know if the product is correct if you don't open the package. I'm not a beautician and clearly this was my error. However, the product was not used and we put in it right back in the original package with all of the tags. Wasn't worth arguing with her about it. They just lost a customer that's all.

When I arrived, I was told that Jenny does not even perform pedicures, which was confusing since the system allowed me to book that service with her. The staff told me the appointment had been canceled and that I should have received a text and email notification. While standing there, I checked both my email and text messages and never received any cancellation notice. The only option offered was a "sorry" and to reschedule for 2:00 PM, even though my original appointment was at 12:00 PM. Waiting an additional two hours after driving 30 minutes was not realistic. I understand that scheduling mistakes can happen, but I was disappointed that there wasn't more effort made to accommodate the situation. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. However, I did end up finding a salon right around the corner called Tiffany Nails & Spa and they were extremely accommodating. Their customer service was excellent, the salon was very clean, and they even had top-of-the-line massage chairs. I'm glad I found them.
