My stylist, Allison C., was AMAZING!!! I was SO nervous to go dress shopping because I've never been before (nope- never evening prom dress shopping). Allison was so welcoming and warm so my nerves were immediately relieved. She was extremely attentive, making sure to ask clarifying questions frequently to help me pin down exactly what I wanted (I had NO vision to start). She also was extremely respectful of budget, being careful not to pull anything that wouldn't meet it. Went here for my bridesmaids, I have 8 of them. I called a few days before to check in and make sure our large group was still good to go. I had favorited some dresses before hand so it was easier. The appointment was a MESS. The stylist just pointed my girls in the direction of dresses and the store was packed. We were only given 2 dressing rooms and our 1 hour appointment ended up taking over 2 hours because of how long everyone had to wait. Not a good experience if you want help/attention. read more

I went in for my first ever bridal dress appointment (6/15). Kaitlyn M was my stylist and was beyond fantastic. She kept it lighthearted but provided expertise and style. She was outstanding and helped calm my anxieties and all the stress. She was nearly invited to the wedding because of how positive and amazing her energy is. The dress I ended up choosing was one she had recommended for me! I will be going to her for my bridesmaids for sure. I love her and she is the sole reason I am coming back to David's Bridal. One of my wishes for when I rung the bell was that she gets the raise she deserves. Phenomenal customer service. I felt like I had another friend with me the whole time. Every time I call the Deptford store, I get transferred to 3-4 different representatives. I have to explain my situation to them every time. Now, most of the time I call it is very simple, like getting a different size of a dress that I have already purchased through David's Bridal. They are all rude as if I was "a nobody" bothering them. I'm sorry, but, it's their job to help! I mean that's what they are there for and that's what they get paid to do. I have never seen a specific store have so much attitude and disrespect in regard to a customer! EVER! I have been to this location a couple of times, I will NEVER go again. The first time I went, I was shopping for my wedding dress. I felt like there was not enough staff to assist the number of people in the store trying things on. I had made an appointment, but were still left waiting long periods of time for assistance getting in and out of various dresses, getting different dresses. This is supposed to be my wedding and now my best Friend's wedding. They did not make my day relaxing and enjoyable as a matter of fact, my day there heightened my anxiety to an enormous level. David's Bridal employees were very rude on several occasions. Even though the dresses are cheap the service is terrible from the sales women to the seamstresses which make the whole experience terrible. Close the Deptford store! My girlfriend had an appointment here to look for dresses for her destination wedding, her sales associate Khadijah was awesome! It was good my friend had an early appointment because it got really busy after lunch so Khadjiah was working on two brides. She was able to manage her time and balance two brides with different ideas and visions at the same time. My friend also said YES to the dress here! She looked amazing and our overall experience was great. We were also able to look at and try on some bridesmaids dresses to get ideas on what we wanted. I would suggest having more sales associates on the weekends. And changing their rule about no drinks. I understand the no drinks rule near the pretty dresses, but I think we could have them near the waiting area at the dressing rooms. Or maybe they should have a drink fine for those who can't hold their drinks and spill them on the dresses. Mostly everyone who comes in are adults, so they probably should act like ones around gorgeous gowns and dresses. read more

My wife found the perfect dress. Had it sized and when she went back to have it fitted for the final time they did everything completely wrong and were trying to tell her they didn't do anything wrong and wanted to charge her twice for alterations. Got to the point to where the brides maid had to get involved and make a scene. After everything was said and done we get to the big day and notice BLOOD all over the dress. BLOOD. Come to find out the day she went to pick the dress up she was pressured into going in the room only with the employees and they wouldn't let her brides maid in the room. They were fast talking her and trying to rush her out. Didn't even show the brides maid how to fluff the dress. Wonder why? They were trying to hide all the blood on the dress. After we got back from our honey moon we called the store and the first girl was nice but we ended up having to call corporate . Corporate told us that we would be taken care of and have the alterations refunded. That turned out to be a lie . After waiting 2 weeks for an answer we called again and were told we had to go to the store and talk to the manager. We called the store and was given the run around and told to come in at 5pm. This is a 45 minute drive. So when we get there guess what..the manager was not there and refused to come back. We ended up going back and was told , AFTER BEING TOLD WE DIDN'T HAVE TO , to bring the dress so we wasted another trip. After all that was done the "manager " told my wife that she didn't have to bring me with her and she didn't need someone there with her; and that she wasn't going to do anything to make this right. read more

This is specifically for David's Bridal in Deptford, NJ. My cousin is getting married for the first time. When we went for our appointment, she was VERY rushed and told she could only try on 5 dresses!!! WHAT!?!?! How can you set a limit on how many dresses a bride can try on?!?! We also only had one hour for our appointment. Which I understand that the business has to set limits on the time, but to set the limit on how many dresses, ridiculous. Needless to say, she did not find a dress there. Regardless of not finding her wedding dress in Deptford, we still had an appointment for the bridesmaids to find our dresses there. My cousin called late Friday afternoon, before our appointment on Sunday (2 days before) and was told they could not accommodate her and her bridesmaids. WHAT THE HECK!! Were they going to every notify her of this?!?! This was totally unprofessional and caused unneeded stress on the bride. So, in the end, the Deptford store did not get our business for the wedding dress, nor for the bridesmaids dresses. I am appalled at how the Deptford staff are handling brides and the unprofessionalism is over the top. We do not recommend this store. We were able to go the Maple Shade David's Bridal store for all of our needs. If I could give this location a zero, I would- especially when it comes to the alteration department. Never in a million years, would I think such a big name in the wedding industry, would allow their employees to body shame their customers- absolutely appalling and ridiculous. My sister was so excited, she found a gorgeous dress and she looks absolutely stunning in it- how dare your seamstresses tear down her confidence and destroy her self esteem. Those two ladies should be fired for their disrespect, their nasty attitudes and their rude comments- mocking her about the dress she picked, telling her David's Bridal doesn't care about you or what dress you pick, they're just there to sell you anything and make money. Telling her if they cut the dress all you'll see if your back fat and rolls, take a look in the mirror. I am LIVID that this location treated this incident as a minor inconvenience by brushing her off to "come back in and see another seamstress so we can get it taken care of for you" as of she didn't deserve a sincere full apology. Dress Drama! It's gonna be long, but I know you're all interested! I bought my original wedding dress at David's, and you can see from my previous review that I was pleased. The girl working with me was helpful, the dress came in quickly, I didn't spend a fortune, blah blah blah. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, My First Fitting. The manager greeted me at the door with a smile, took my dress from me and walked me back to Alterations. More smiles all around as I met the seamstress. I put my dress on, I'm feeling bridal, I come out to get zippered up... and well, that's where the smiles ended. The dress, despite being the same size I tried on in the store (the size that was recommended I purchase) and the fact that I had not gained any weight since I ordered the dress, that biotch wouldn't zip. Like not even close; it was INCHES from zipping. We double checked the size: Yup, it was the size I tried on and the size I ordered, yet it did not fit. I didn't bring anyone with me to the fitting, because based on how the dress was at my original appointment, I didn't need anyone to watch me get hemmed and bustled; that's all it needed. Had my mom or a friend been with me, there might have been some kind of voice of reason... But there wasn't. It was just me, on the verge of tears, yessing everyone because OMG JUST GET ME TO FIT IN THIS DRESS!!! So the seamstress asked the manager to exchange the one I bought for the same dress, 2 sizes bigger. They had it in the store, it was in good condition, and it was HUGE on me, but the seamstress worked diligently to pin it in. She suggested different under garments, so I bought them. When I questioned the now-visible lines at the base of the corset and across the middle of the slip, she said to me, "No one is going to get that close and ask, 'what's that line?" When I pointed out my armpit fat bulging at the top of the dress and said that it didn't do that in the original dress, she responded, "Everyone has that," and kept on pinning. I don't think that the seamstress wasn't skilled. I think what I was wearing was a very hard dress to alter because it had so few seams. She took her time and she said what she thought I wanted to hear to make me feel better about the dress. When I went up to pay, my alterations and new undergarments ended up costing more than my gown. I handed over my credit card because I just wanted the dress to fit. But the more I thought about it, the less satisfied I was with what went down. I went back the next day (when I wasn't about to burst into tears) and spoke with the manager. She was extremely kind and understanding, and offered to make an appointment for me to come in and look at new dresses. I was given a refund on the alterations and offered a store credit for the gown. I think that's awesome business practice, especially since the gown that was all pinned up probably can't be resold with all the pinholes in the satin. Thumbs up for that piece of the story. My second dress-seeking appointment was mostly as favorable as the first. My sales woman claimed to have 20 years of experience and was extremely helpful for approximately 60 minutes. But I tried on a LOT of dresses, and eventually it started getting a little more crowded, and her attention to me was not as spot-on as it had been. Maybe I was only scheduled in for an hour? Maybe they were understaffed? I could tell she was starting to get frustrated, either with me, or the situation, or whatever... The point is, I shouldn't have been able to tell at all. I don't hate David's Bridal. I'm not really mad at them. I don't know what the deal with the dress sizing was, because my new dress ended up being the same number size as the original dress I had ordered, and it fits great. But I'm not having this one altered at David's. read more

First, let me start off by saying I said YES to the dress here. Second, let me say -- make an appointment for as early as you can. I made an appointment for as early as I could and I had a very positive experience. I already knew what I was looking for before I went so I would advise any bride to at least have an idea because it truly does make the experience run smoother. They have so many options in this shop and it definitely pays to do your research. My sales associate (Khadijah) was awesome. She listened to what I wanted, knew her store and stock very well. The prices are what they are - you pay for what you get. I would recommend purchasing your undergarments with your dress because it can be a headache if you try to do it later. The beaded sash I chose for my dress was more expensive than my dress itself which I can't understand BUT that was the only negative thing about this experience for me. The store seemed a little understaffed with how many people were browsing around and wanting to try on items. I was able to browse for my bridesmaids dresses after I found my dress which was nice. They have many options for every body type which is also a plus. read more

I am a matron of honor in an upcoming wedding and have been less than pleased with David's Bridal. I haven't been to David's in years and was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see the nice selection of gowns they carry! The bride bought her dress here and figured it would be most convenient to get the bridesmaid gowns here since not everyone lives nearby. The option to pick up at any David's is a plus. We had an appt on a Sunday afternoon with 4 bridesmaids. The appointment was with Amber. She made it clear from minute one that she was having a bad day. She made comments about how long we were taking to decide and got very irritated when the bride dared to have us try on a dress that wasn't in the original plan. Amber let us know she was about to give her two weeks notice and she obviously didn't care about anything at that point. When we chose a dress, she asked for my name for the order. I started to spell my last name and she handed me the notepad and said "ugh here, I'm too tired for all of that!". I was stunned. It's a very good thing she's not there anymore. Our next appt a few weeks later was for my daughter who is a flower girl. We had an 11:30 appt and weren't given a fitting room until 30 mins later. Not one person came by to help us. I assumed if you make an appt you would be assigned a representative to assist you. That's not the case. We winded up choosing a dress and waiting a good 20 mins in line to pay. The bride and her mother expressed their concerns to the manager, who seemed genuinely sorry, but didn't offer any compensation. I definitely will not be getting my alterations done here. Came in just to browse, wasn't really ready to commit to anything, liz greeted me at the front and let me know where everything was and sent me into the store with a stylist, I believe her name was Cindy. I let her know what i was interested in and she certainly knew the stock well! Saw a ton of great dresses and i will absolutely be shopping there again. Already mentioned it to a friend and she wants to set her bridesmaids up there too! Looking forward to setting up an appointment. I had a very solid experience here. I purchased my dress online but used this David's location to purchase my veil and tiara, as well as bridesmaid's dresses. Every associate that I interacted with was friendly and helpful; they even stayed open late to accommodate one of my bridesmaids who was having difficulty deciding which shoes to purchase. Visited David's bridal with an appointment to try on dresses in December. Here's the thing: I've never been a bride before. I've never seen myself getting married. So I don't have any idea what I want. I have a Pinterest board, but it's a bunch of images of pretty girls in dresses. We arrive at 8:50 and are waiting in the cold outside until someone opens the door at about 9:05 (appointment at 9). This someone is my stylist. She asks to see my Pinterest board and after taking a glance goes, "oh wow, you're all over the place. Let's take you back and I'll start pulling some dresses." It was a little rude but also accurate, so whatever. Maybe she's just nicely blunt. Of course I didn't love all of the dresses but she seemed annoyed that I didn't know. I asked to try on a more bedazzled look than I initially thought I wanted and she rolled her eyes and said "you didn't want bedazzled five minutes ago." As I continued trying different ones on, she asked me "did you have trouble finding your prom dress? Are you indecisive about this stuff?" I'm trying to find my wedding dress. I don't think figuring out where I stand on the indecision camp matters. Clearly I don't know what I want. This continued on and she continued saying stuff under her breath. Overall this wasn't a pleasant experience. She complimented me the whole time i was in a dress, but the moment I wasn't that interested, she'd go back to the "well like what are you looking for" bit. That's why I'm here. To find a beautiful gown that I love. Not to be judged on my indecision. Definitely would not return. read more

On Tuesday February 26th my friend and I visited the David's Bridal in Deptford New Jersey to try on bridal gowns for the first time to get an idea of what I like and dislike. My appointment was okay, i found a couple dresses i really liked. I would have liked to see more of a variety of dresses but my consultant found a style that looked good on me and kept bringing me out that style. I left satisfied in hopes of returning with my bridesmaids and mom to show them what i liked best. About an hour after leaving the store i realized my engagement ring was missing. I frantically searched my car and my friend called David's Bridal, they said they would pull all the dresses i tried on and check the store and call me back. We received no call back and decided to return to the store to look for ourselves. When we entered the store there was maybe one customer browsing and all of the employees were standing by the counter talking and using their cell phones. My consultant did not come over to help me look, one kind employee came over and assisted us with looking. When she asked my consultant if she checked all the dresses i tried on she said "no, only three of them". Luckily, we took pictures while trying on the dresses and could see my engagement ring in the second to last dress i tried on, the last dress picture was a little blurry and hard to see if my ring was there or not. So, we checked the last two dresses and did not find the ring. After we checked the dresses no one helped us the rest of time we were there (about 20 more minutes) they just continued on with their conversations. As i was checking the floor under the racks i heard my consultant say very loudly to her coworkers, "Ya know if we find it, i'm keeping it right?" I immediately got upset and started crying. I told my friend what happened and then went outside to check the parking lot and to try to stop crying. My friend calmly approached another employee and asked to speak to the manager. When Robin, the manager, came over my friend started explaining what happened and what i overheard. The manager rudely interrupted and said "Yeah honey i know your situation and Diandra was just kidding, it was just a joke." My friend then went on to explain that we were very upset and did not find that funny and Robin went on to say " yeah it was just a joke you need to relax, its not a big deal." My friend then left the store and told me about her encounter with Robin the manager of the store. I immediately went back into the store to speak to her myself. I told her that i did not find it funny and that if she thinks that is just a joke, thats is not okay and i can't believe that behavior from an employee is accepted and that is how she allows the store to run. She went on to be passive, condesending, and rude saying the same types of things she said to my friend that is was just a joke, not a big deal, we need to relax. I then told her that if she did not want to help me i would go to the police station in town and file a police report. She then said "you do what you think you need to do." I turned and started walking towards the exit when Robin said loudly, "oh and by the way... Diandra said you weren't even wearing a ring when you came in" this statement made me even more suspicious. I grabbed my phone and offered to show her pictures where you can clearly see my ring in the dressing room area in their dresses, she declined and told me to show them to the police. I then asked for her name, thanked her and told her to have a good day. I am appalled to know that David's bridal has people like that running their stores. Not once did she apologize, say her consultant was wrong, or offer any assistance instead she was nasty, abrasive, and cocky. I held off writing this because I was hopeful it would have a happy ending and David's bridal corporate would make this right but unfortunately it's been there weeks and they have not. When calling the first time the man apologized and said he called Robin and she apologized to us... not true. So, my friend called again the next day and spoke to someone else in customer service. This employee was appalled to hear how we were treated and said she would investigate, call me, and get back to us about the results. I did receive a call that week on Saturday, she was kind and apologetic and asked if i would consider returning to purchase my gown there, i told her i would not return to the deptford location ever but i would consider visiting another location. She then told me she would call me back three days later (tuesday) and she would see what she could do for me. Tuesday came and left. I waited 8 days to call her ( two Tuesdays). When i spoke to a customer service representative he told me that she was busy and he would take me name and number and she would return my call later that afternoon. I did not hear from her so called back two days later, i waited on hold for about 15 minutes before being connected to her. She read more

They have a known issue with the zippers on the dresses. We had to sew my dress on with fishing string after an hour of attempts to zipp it up. We had missed pictures a bride crying. Contact the corporation and they dont have any remorse for the bride or honor a refund for the defect. What type of company is that!! They are suppose to be all for the bride...they are for purchase only. They dont back up their product at all. This review is for a stylist named Monica.. She is absolutely a DOLL! Such a sweet young lady and very EXCELLENT customer service skills. I came to this location twice, and both times everyone was very nice despite the store being extremely busy and hectic. I was fortunate to get Monica both times, and the second time I came, she remembered my face and gave me hug. This delighted my heart as I had such TERRIBLE services at the Maple Shade location. Great job Deptford store on having great customer service skills. Please teach Maple Shade how to properly greet and acknowledge potential customers! I also had a third bridesmaids fitting first thing in the morning, and a manager Zeny actually helped me despite being very busy serving as both a manager and stylist. I had a great experience wedding dress shopping here. I'm kind of a tomboy and wasn't the type to grow up dreaming about my wedding day (I'm getting married to my girlfriend after all)! I was pretty unsure of whether to mention that I was shopping for a gay wedding but it turned out to be a non-issue. The form I was given to fill out about my bridal party had been gender-neutralized and the sales associate who helped me soon started chatting away about her niece's recent wedding to her girlfriend. Anyway, the associate and the rest of the staff were great. My associate really got what I was and wasn't looking for. She took the example photo I brought (off David's website) and pulled that dress as well as some other suggestions. There is a bit of up-sell pressure (undergarments, dress preservation, accessories, etc) so be prepared for what you do and don't want to buy that day. They also have a little bell-ringing tradition if you choose a dress that day, so be ready for an audience especially if your appointment is on a weekend! The in-store experience was good; the lack of 5 stars is really for the follow-up. I'd made arrangements (I thought) on purchasing my dress to have it shipped to me in another city. I don't live in NJ and only went there so I could shop with my bridesmaids. When staff called to tell me the dress was in though, they didn't seem to have any knowledge of those arrangements. I made the arrangements again, and then was told to call back the next evening for a tracking number. It seemed to me that the staff could be a little more proactive (I'd made a pretty large purchase after all) and called me back with the tracking number. When I did call back for the tracking number, the staff accidentally hung up on me but then didn't call me back (she was in the midst of looking up my order by phone number... so yeah). I had an appointment today to look at styles and colors for my bridal party. From the moment I walked in, Brianna was nothing short of amazing. I let her know exactly what I wanted (and did not want). She never made me feel like I had to question my decision, but rather let me take the lead and guided me along the way. I didn't realize how many different materials and styles of dresses there were, but I learned so much today. I was also not expecting to try on wedding gowns, but Brianna showed me a gown that I instantly fell in love with. A brides first appointment has a significant impact on where she will shop, and I will be returning soon with the rest of my bridesmaids. I am so glad I choose to go here to buy my wedding dress. First my bridesmaids went and had a great experience. We arrived on time and within the hour they picked a dress (with the assistance of the sales woman). It was fast and painless. Two months later I went to try and purchase my dress. Ok, let me just start off by saying that my consultant Victoria O.....was freaking AMAZING. She gets 5 stars from me. She was polite, funny, cried with me and as real of a person as myself. I love her. Unfortunately, this review is about a different woman in this location which took my AMAZING day where I said YES TO MY DRESS and ruined it in a matter of seconds. I had a bridal appointment on 6/5/16... I have technically been married for over a year now. My husband and I have been keeping it secret from our friends (close family knows). I have been discussing WHY we are keeping it secret with my therapist and I told her I have a fear of people judging me and my decisions. Not that I have to justify myself to ANYONE but we did it months AFTER he had already proposed because we would save about $500 a month dropping my medical insurance and putting me on his. Genius move on our part. Well, I finally get up the nerve to tell my bridesmaids and matron of honor. The woman at the counter, Joyce Jenkins (worst employee EVER), asks me what name my account is under. I tell her and then turn to tell my last bridesmaid about my great news. Joyce overhears and says "so you are already married?" I said "yes, technically, just having the whole wedding later." She then asks, "whats your last name now then?" Again, I tell her. She makes the RUDEST face and says in the the most condescending tone I have ever heard from a bridal consultant IN MY LIFE "well, whatever works for you, I guess." I turned and looked at my bridesmaids....they all had this sort of "shocked. I can't believe she just said that. WTF" sort of face. I wish I could accurately describe the twisted face of disapproval and disgust Joyce Jenkins had. All of my bridal party saw it. I, however, kept my happy face on, ignored her smarmy comment and paid for my garment bag (which should automatically come with a dress purchase, btw) and left. My parents and MIL told me not to let her bother me. And I did fine...until later that night...when I cried hysterically to my husband because this IGNORANT woman, Joyce Jenkins, confirmed my WORST FEAR in letting this news out. What should have been a happy night for me turned into a moody, miserable one. I know some of you are thinking "she is no one, don't let her bother you." or "you're just being sensitive." Letting it go may be easy for you. I'm NOT one of those people, I wish I were, trust me. Bottom line....this woman ruined my experience and the remainder of what would have been an awesome day for me and my bridesmaids because she feels as though expressing her opinion on matters that do NOT concern her with facial expressions and snarkiness is appropriate. I will tell everyone I know to NEVER purchase a wedding dress here. My experience was a complete and utter nightmare at David's Bridal in Deptford, NJ. They ruined my dress and alterations and promised multiple times to reimburse me and they did not. Needless to say, I contacted the corporate office. It didn't have to get this far. You are supposed to make brides happy for the best day of their lives, not the opposite. read more

I have been so impressed with the Deptford David's Bridal from my first stop in to my fitting. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I stopped in just to check out the selection and found my perfect dress. I never felt pressured to make a choice and my stylist gave great suggestions. My fitting went equally well. Looooved my stylist Khadijah!!! This was my first time shopping for dresses and she made my experience unforgettable! I was very nervous about shopping for dresses since I've heard horror stories from other brides about their experiences (none of these bad experiences happened here don't worry)! After avoiding dress shopping for months on end I was finally convinced to go to Davids Bridal to begin the process. The plan was to start here and then explore some other types of local dress shops, however, Diandra made the experience so wonderful and enjoyable no other experience was comparable. We got my daughter's prom dress from here. Although I could tell we were on the bottom rung since we were only making a small purchase compared to the bridal groups, the attention we received was very professional. My daughter even found a missing crystal on her dress and the saleswoman immediately brought it back to be fixed. The store seems a bit disorganized due to the messy changing area and tons of show boxes around the chairs, but that did not have a negative effect on my visit. read more

I am not your typical Bride as I am 60 years old. I found the perfect dress and yes it was even on the clearance rack. I am only 5 foot tall and have small arms, so alterations were needed. The alterations were almost as much as the dress BUT they were done beautifully. The dress came out perfect. I was so happy with the end result. The staff was pleasant and helpful.
