quite simply the WORST golf course i have played at. atrocious fairway conditions, if you could even call them that. i felt FORTUNATE any time i was able to find a patch of grass to land on in the fairway. you look out and all you see is a sea of DIRT. i'd estimate like 35% grass coverage, the rest DIRT. and we are in april? on top of that, there is no differentiation between fairway and rough. the course stinks both LITERALLY, and figuratively. it smells a bit toxic? I coudn't get the weird smell out of my hands for a day despite constant washing and rewashing. what IS that? from what i hear, the course used to be a dump site, which may explain why grass doesn't grow here, despite all their best efforts to fix the course. signs were posted that claimed the course would be renovated by now. it's saying something when i feel dominguez hills, the par 3 18-hole course just on the other side of the freeway, is in better overall condition than a regulation course. that's unacceptable. many of the holes are lined with 'environmentally protected areas' which, in all honesty, just looked like overgrown weeds. i understand it if you want to keep and maintain the indigenous greenery, etc of the area. but what grows here is just a mess. it doesn't even look nice. plus...hit in there and your ball is GONE. it's a shame because the layout is fine. there is such POTENTIAL here. the greens are fine. the tee boxes are fine. the groundskeeping just needs a MAJOR MAJOR overhaul to make this worthwhile. walking from hole to hole is a bit of a pain, but this is not a major negative for some peeps. if there is ONE positive, you can practice off the grass on their nice driving range. read more

WORST GOLF COURSE I'VE PLAYED!!! do not golf here! Fairways are horrible, you're pretty much playing on dirt! I played on a weekend and only wanted to play 9 holes and they charge you full price!! Worst golf course I've ever been to. Greens are not maintained and our golf cart died on the 16th hole.

First let me state the greens were impeccable. I was impressed with the speed and the "trueness" of the putts. Unfortunately the rest of the course is in terrible shape. It was very tough to find a nice patch of fairway on the entire course. The placement and cut of the bunkers are excellent, they frame the holes and greens well, unfortunately since they are filled with brown sand that's packed down they do not please the eye. "Links" courses should have rolling fairways and the wind should play a major factor, this course does not have that type of character. This course basically needs to shutdown a few holes at a time, put in a new irrigation system, re-seed the fairways and get them healthy. The superintendent has proved the course has the ability to maintain the greens, now focus is needed on the rest of the course! Likely not to play again for a long time! read more

Went to the driving range today. -2 stars for the driving range being absolute trash. -2 stars for the balls being absolute trash. +1 star for the odor wafting over from the trash dump on Main. It made me feel like I was back at Dominguez driving range. read more

This course is not well maintained and the prices are a little high but if your just getting the hang of the sport it can be a good place to develop your game because its wide and forgiving. Some holes are challenging but nothing out of the ordinary. read more

I have been playing golf for over 20 years and gave never had an experience as bad as we had today. When we arrived we asked the starter if carts were going out and what was the rule with them as it rained the last few days. We were told that carts were ok and to play a 90 degree rule. We were then VERY surprised when we were verbally assaulted by the ambassador who screamed and cursed at us before asking us any questions. Forget that the course is always in terrible condition and the pace of play was awful, the course employee was beyond confrontational and I truly thought he was going to attack one of my playing partners. I was absolutely shocked. As we were told if we didn't like it we could leave and receive a refund we went back to the pro shop and informed them as to what had happened. There was very little effort made to remedy the situation. I am very sad to say, because of the way we were treated I wouldn't play here again if they paid me too. There are a ton of courses locally that care more about the playing conditions and the level of service they provide. I do hope you choose to vote your dollars to a better golf course that cares about you. I am very sure based on our outing today that Victoria golf course does not. So much for a game for gentlemen. read more

We played on Saturday and when I walked up I could see the first tee and the fairway. There was no grass at all. It looked like they had rolled the fairway and plugged it. Then they charged us full fare to play and all the fairways on the front side had no grass. We played winter rules - lift and clean. But, the greens were in immaculate shape. Beautiful. The backside was a little bit better still no grass but not as muddy. I couldn't clean my shoes well enough the mud was so bad. Had to throw them away. They shoiuld close it for a month and let the grass grow in on the fairways. read more

This was the raggedyest ass course I've ever played. 9 holes were turned into par 3s because the fairways were closed. The other 9 you might as well have hit off the cart path the fairways were dirt and you had to look for a piece of grass. No cars on any fairway and 85% of the course marked ground under repair. Straight up Boo-Boo. To add insult to injury, it's Thanksgiving and they tried to give us a free hot dog and chips at the turn. I should have given them an ass whooping for taking my $40 chips. Please close that MF down. The county should be pimp slapped. read more

An absolute embarrassment of a golf course. The only playable fairways are the par 3s (which you shouldn't be hitting anyway). Angry that there was no mention of the course condition by the proshop after charging me full price $39 (with cart). As a previous yelper mentioned, you literally are picking up your fairway shots and replacing on a patch of grass (if you can find one.) This place is atrocious and would be absolutely embarrassed if I was either the course professional or management. Can not believe they are still open. Shut it down. read more

Been playing the course regularly for over ten years. Conditions have been improving compared to in the past. Greens are the best they have ever been. Fairways are getting a little barren again as they were before. What has set this course apart from others has been the convenience of play and customer service. We are easily able to play less than four hour rounds with up to four players, thanks to the marshals and pro shop. Drew, in the pro shop makes it so we always get out on time and treats all professionally and personally and genuinely appreciates that we continue to support this course. Honestly if it was not for the customer service we receive we would tempted to play other courses. As long as we are treated like we have been, we'll be back. read more

I played this coarse after driving by it for many years. It was a pleasant experience for me as I paired up with some friendly players who shared their local knowledge as we played along. The fairways are a little rough in spots but, you can see they are working on them. I enjoyed my round there very much. The greens are as good as I play in Long Beach.I will return soon. read more

If there was Zero Stars I would choose 0.. But unfortunately I had to choose one.. Absolutely the worst golf course I have ever played in my life with customer service lower than any expectations I could ever have.. I stopped at the pro shop after my round to tell the manager how I felt and he told me to hang on he'd be right back.. I waited 10 minutes and he never came back.. Are you f****** kidding me? The course has no Fairways it's all mud and dirt the Fairway bunkers and green bunkers are rocks and packed dirt with absolutely no sense and the people who work here don't give a s*** and tell you lies about why the course is in bad shape.. The guy at the starter told us we had to go on the back side because there are other groups that need to go on the front because they play here all the time despite the fact that I had a 7:15 tee time.. And told me that I was late at 7:05.. This place is a joke and I highly recommend if you want to play golf play somewhere else.. It's sad because this is a great layout and a fun course but it is not worth the $45 to play here.. Trust me you will be sorry read more

The Links at Victoria is the golf course my husband and I play most often. We live in Torrance and usually like to play a morning 9 or twilight 18 on the weekends. This course is great for walking, you really don't need a golf cart for this course. It is extremely flat, not many trees and the greens are always in good shape. The fairways are not the best and there is often lots of dirt/ mud. They are currently updating the driving range- so no driving range right now. I love how much nature is on this course! If you are on 17 you will most likely see a coyote family, there are hawks, squirrels, rabbits, all kinds of birds that live on this course. Whenever we have been paired up with other golfers they have always been friendly and fun to play the course with and the staff are helpful as well. Sometimes play is slow but this is LA, much faster play than Alondra or Los Verdes. There are lots of par 5's just enough par 3's and it is challenging with bunkers and interesting pin placements. Hopeful that the recent rainfall will help this course get green again! read more
