We rented two bays, which allowed up to 16 people, and that was perfect because we had exactly 16 guests including my husband, my daughter, and me. My husband wanted to invite more people but they are pretty strict and will ask you to leave if it is over the amount of people agreed on. The people we did invite are the ones closest to our hearts and our people. The others that are part of our lives and dear to our hearts, that is our CONSTANT ;) we celebrated the following weekend at a brewery. Lol Everyone had such a great time! The reservation was for two hours, but they were kind enough to give us an additional 30 minutes at no extra charge, which we really appreciated. It gave everyone a little more time to enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. And let's talk about the food... there was SO much food! Everything was delicious, and we had plenty of leftovers to pack up not just for us, but for our guests to take home too. That was definitely a pleasant surprise! The kids had an absolute blast, and it was just such a fun experience having our family and friends together. My husband's parents also brought a birthday cake, and we were able to share some with members of the Topgolf team, which made the celebration even more special. I want to give a special thank-you to Melissa Simpson, who I had been in contact with earlier in the month to help coordinate my husband's birthday celebration. I had a few special requests, one of which was having our bays on the highest floor--the third floor--with the nicest view. While still a fun outing, including some friends I was introducing to golf, the night was a little uneven. The service was a little night and day with good service for the first hour (though with a few forgotten items) and practically non-existent during the second hour (i.e., no refills, extra items ordered forgotten but fortunately not charged) The equipment was also inconsistent with a couple of grips that left a residue on our hands (luckily, I had brought my own gloves). It didn't seem worth it to complain, so we just didn't use those particular clubs. Many of the games are literally no longer on the menu. My friends and I typically liked tracking our improvement (or lack thereof) across time by comparing scores on the phone app. With the discontinuation of many games (including classics) this can no longer be done.

I recently finished about three years' worth of lessons with Paul, and it has been life-changing…read more Originally, I came to GolfTec because I really wanted to be able to see/replay my swing when I practice. Over the years I tried taking a few lessons here and there with different instructors with little to no success. Eventually my poor form combined with swinging as hard as I could (and also lifting weights in the gym) resulted in injuries to my elbow, shoulder, and back. What I really wanted to do was create an efficient, smooth swing that I can use for the rest of my life, as I had always imagined golfing in retirement. When I came for my evaluation, Eddie had me try a few things, and then he was brutally honest with me and said he probably shouldn't be my instructor (I was way too "armsy" which was not a good match for how he taught), so he referred me to Paul. It stung a little to hear that, but it turned out to be for the best. I told Paul that I was committed and would do whatever he said. Over the next few years he completely rebuilt my swing from the ground up. I think I spent most of my first year just working on my backswing. It was incredibly frustrating for me, but I stuck to it and you can see in the pictures how it has paid off. To avoid injuries, I probably swing about half as hard as I used to, but the ball still goes just as far, if not farther (plus straighter). GolfTec isn't cheap though, and I'll be the first to admit I would just keep taking lessons forever if I could afford it. This is definitely something I could not have afforded when I was much younger. But if this is something you can afford and nothing else has worked for you, I encourage you to try this. Another thing that has helped is I was able to pause my program once per package ("X number of lessons in Y weeks") whenever I was too injured to continue. As for any reports of rude instructors or poor customer service from coaches, I think I know who they were talking about. There was one coach there who wasn't very friendly whenever I interacted with him, and he seems more interested in practicing his own swing than helping customers. He's been gone for a few months though and was recently replaced by someone else. I've always found the other coaches to be super nice. Eddie's gone now. Ryan is the manager, I believe, and he's incredibly friendly and helpful. Just keep in mind that they can get really busy at times. If you walk in and need help and they're all busy teaching, just make sure they can see you standing there. They'll get to you before too long, but they're priority does need to be teaching a student that is paying for their time. Oh, and Paul has always been super responsive via email. I got to enjoy beautiful views of the Pacific from their Garden Terrace and Ballroom. The Ballroom has windows that overlook the golf course and makes for a great sight of the sunset at night. It's also quite a spacious ballroom, making it perfect for large events and parties. Aside from enjoying the view, I got to enjoy a wonderful dinner here tonight. Dinner was kicked off with appetizers such as Fried Artichoke, Chicken Tostada and Coconut Shrimp. The main dinner course consisted of tender Short Rib with Roasted Potatoes and Peas. Dessert was a mini Apple Pie topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel. I enjoyed visiting Palos Verdes Golf Club very much. One thing I would note though was when I was leaving, it was quite dark. The neighborhood around doesn't have much light in the evening. I now understand why- to get to the pro shop you have to call "city of LA" who's puts you on hold and then they call and put you on another hold, which goes to voicemail and then their voicemail doesn't take message. Absolutely terrible customer service. Save yourself the time.
