This is a very small mom n pop type joint. Not a whole lot of seating inside of a very small dining area. Very quiet when we went on a Friday night, just a bunch of locals that know each other dining in and even picking up. 2 young servers at the time we went which were very nice. There's quite a few menu items that stand out to me which I would love to try someday. But for this visit I had to go with the Vic's Special. Hamburger topped with roast beef and Swiss cheese I believe, and it was simply outstanding. The burger patty itself was great, and the roast beef on top was incredible. Another slice of cheese wouldn't hurt the ratio of meat to cheese but very very good nonetheless. I got onion rings and those were also very good. The cups for drinks they bring you are kinda small but free refills of course, just a pain if you drink a lot. They do have bottled and canned beer available as well. My brother had a cheeseburger with cheese sticks as the side and he said it was good. Total was like $36 or something I can't remember, but not bad at all considering our 2 meals. On the whole this is a 4 1/2 star restaurant but bring that they are in a small town I'm bumping it up to a five. It's cute. It takes me back to yesteryear and I love the bayou accents. The employees were all friendly and nice. I was dressed more big city than country and everyone treated me well (that doesn't always happen in small towns). I got two appetizers as my lunch and that was plenty. First, I ordered the shrimp boulettes. This reminded me of deep-fried a shrimp shumai but even better. Oh my goodness it was good. When I first saw my lunch I thought they I'd want ranch and nope, I didn't need any sauce. Why mess up perfection? I also got the alligator jalapeño bites. Called and made an order for take out. Called at 6:10 at night. Ordered a cheeseburger poboy with fries and hamburger steak. At that time, they said it would be about 1 hour and they would call when ready. Well 07:30 rolls around and I called them. They said "oh, your order is ready". So I go to get order. Thinking the place would be packed. There was an elderly couple that walked out and there were 3 men sitting and talking. My food was just on the counter tee and not even under a heating lamp. So I pay for order and return home. I live literally 5-7 minutes from the place. I get home and ALL the food was cold. Needless to say, French fries were just cold and hard. Hamburger steak and poboy were both cold and had to be microwaved. Very disappointed. read more

Well here I am again. I arrived at Vic's around 545 on a Friday afternoon and ordered two seafood platters and some onion rings. Y'all I waited over two hours for my food. I watched people come in sit at a table order their food and fifteen twenty minutes later they had their food. All the time I'm patiently waiting for my food. Then after two hours of waiting. Someone comes in orders food to go and twenty minutes later they get their food. I don't know who is running the kitchen but their Priorities or not in order. The seafood was fried too dry . I don't know if I will ever return . The only thing positive about this is I was given my money back. And I was not the only one it happened too. This place was so yummy! A little hole in the wall that I really didn't expect much from. But the food and service was so incredible. The staff was so endearing. They welcomed us and it literally felt like you were having a meal surrounded by old friends and family. Just the kindest people ever! The food didn't pale in comparison either. Soooo good. We had the Friday lunch special the white beans and fish. I've had this meal many times before but their fish was insane! So much flavor, such a good cook, I couldn't get enough. Then we also shared a bbq ranch burger. Delicious! There was a certain heat to the bbq sauce that I hadn't tasted before and I loved it. Usually not a big burger person but i regretted agreeing to share this with my husband bc it was so good haha. Looking forward to going back! I can't say enough good things about my experience here. The owner is so gracious and his staff is wonderful! We ordered the shrimp and catfish platter which was delicious, corn fritters, mini stuffed crabs, shrimp boulette, chicken & sausage jambalaya and of course sweet tea. Just passing through and went based off the reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious.

This place is great. The food is fresh and very good. I've been twice this week as I'm from out of town but working at the hospital for a week. First day I had the seafood platter. The fish and shrimp were fresh, the batter was seasoned really well, and the crawfish pie was amazing! It was a ton of food (and I got the small) so I had it for dinner too. Yesterday we went back and had club sandwiches. The sandwich was exactly what I was hoping it would be, and they offered to grill the meat (which I've never had before) and that was really good. My friend and I also split the swamp fries, which were good but honestly didn't really send me over the moon. Vic (I assume that's Vic anyway) brought us a little oatmeal raisin cookie. It was perfect to top off the meal. This place is funny, it doesn't have any signage, it's just sitting there on the side of the road with the bayou running behind it. We spotted the sign with the special for the day (Tuesday: hamburger steak with creamed potatoes, my friend said that was really good as well) and there were a bunch of cars parked so we stopped. Definitely beat the heck out of the chain fast food we were headed for before we knew we had an alternative. This is a family business in the truest sense of the word, and they really make you feel welcomed. read more
