I stopped in for lunch and a cold beer on a hot and humid Minnesota day. I ordered a BLT and a cup of vegetable/hamburger soup. The BLT was ok, the bacon was crispy and a thick slice of tomato. The soup was soooooo good, I don't remember a soup as good as this soup. The bar has really improved under the current owner, the musky smoke smell is history and the place has an open feel to it. Normally I absolutely love it here but the bathroom the pink shirt don't even know her name she didn't even take two seconds to be a decent hostess so I asked for chili with sour cream and cheese did not bring the sour cream did not bring the cheese I brought me four packs of crackers that were covered in food absolutely disgusting had to ask someone else to grab the cheese and sour cream that had been left behind asked for is the beer that I always get when I come to this place suddenly they don't have it suddenly they don't have the flavor of vodka that I always get absolutely sourpuss attitude and probably will not be coming back for the entire week since I know she's gonna be working dayshift all week and she may be sure to tell the floor guys at the city of fashionista that she was so busy talking to you and she couldn't check for my beer or my vodka without an attitude so to the management at Vic's you might wanna rethink who your scheduling for your day shift Because her attitude is gonna lose you a lot of your regulars read more

I love this bar. It reminds me of an Adam Sandler movie. Old guys hanging out with their buddies and not worried about being fancy or trendy. It's not one of those bars where people are trying to impress other people. Also, fish sandwich is tasty. read more

We decided to try out this bar, We walked in and found nobody behind the bar. The bartender was outside smoking a cigarette. She saw us walk in and saw us walk out without being served. Unbelievable! read more

Food is average/good bar food. Nothing stand-out (so far) but exactly what you expect. The weekday 4-7 "Hamburger Happy Hour" is a good deal if you like plain burgers and a small portion of fries (totally worth the $3.50 price) but if you want *anything* additional, it's $0.50 each per item (i.e., adding lettuce, tomato, cheese would add $1.50 to the price). Even still, a $5 burger basket is a good price, especially when considering it's probably a 1/4 lb burger and not some flimsy kid's water-cup lid size burger. Pickles were no extra cost and were delicious wavy cut rounds like grandma used to can. Next time I'm asking for extra (I'd even pay the $0.50 if necessary). Fries or tots are the standard with the basket special and there is an up-charge for curly fries, onion rings and... one other option I can't remember. Our server said they recently switched fries from their standard 'crinkle cut' to a thin-sliced with skin on style, similar to Wendy's. Personally, I hope they switch back (it's very difficult to find a good crinkle cut in town. that said, Hornbacher's were substituting fries for their 'ranch potatoes' last week when I was there and they were *amazing*! Perfectly fried, crispy with tender centers.) Our server was very helpful in guiding our group around the menu and offering suggestions. It should be noted that the few times I've been here, the staff has always been courteous and personal without being over-the-top friendly where it becomes incredibly fake. It must also be noted that the few times I've been here recently (different days and times) it seems like there is *always* bingo. I'm all for it but the place was quiet as a library when the bingo started and, for me, that's in contrast to what 'happy hour' is all about. The purpose of going there was to talk with friends I hadn't seen in a while yet felt obligated to speak in hushed tones during the games lest I face the wrath of a competitive bingo enthusiast. read more

Old reliable. Nothing fancy and nothing to let you down. Love to come in afternoon, down a few beers and eat a burger.

The decor was a bit dated for a bar/lounge but the food was good. We went for the happy hour hamburgers and I got a cheeseburger and fries for $4.50. It was tasty. There was also a Bingo game the night we went. A great place to meet locals. read more

Can't beat a 3.50 burger basket during hamburger happy hour. The 7 dollar pitcher of beer to go with it is a good deal too. Can go out and play trivia on Friday night and spend just over twenty dollars for the two of us. Not bad for dinner and two hours of entertainment. Vic's is little more than a decent place to drink most of the time, but on Friday nights they have a karaoke contest, which can be fun with a good group of people. Winning the award is something of a crapshoot, for sure, but if you just want to have fun, Vic's provides that. As for the drink selection, there isn't a good beer selection, so I'd just stick to mixed drinks. Finally, the lack of smoking now makes this place bearable (prior to the smoking ban, being in here wasn't comfortable). read more

My mom used to go to this place back in the 1970s it used to be called La Casa, they had nude portraits of mexican women on the walls, and velvet booths. Apparently!!! I got it right this information from the horses mouth. Wish I had some pictures for proof! Maybe someone does. Anyway, I like the place now, because it sorta looks like 1989 decor, everything is sorta blue, like the booths, sort of a real drinking bar, but it all depends on when you go, obviously. There's the day time lunch crowd, the bingo crowd, the youth gone wild nighttime crowd. It's alright...I'm not big on bars at all, but I'll occasionally go to zone out on some bingo. Even though there's no indoor smoking, I still have to change clothes when I get home, as they reek of grease that emits from their kitchen (nasty). The food was good - exactly what I expected, however, the service is terrible. I ordered take out and when I arrived, the wait staff was on break eating at the bar and they just sat there watching me wait - for a substantial period of time. When the bartender finished her break (in back) and came out to the bar, she looked at me, turned her back to me and then proceeded to wait on all the staff and regulars at the bar. One of the older gentlemen pointed me out and suggested to her to wait on me. The food was really good, but what seems like hostility toward the new customers is just something I cannot get past. read more
