Stumbled upon this place that has apparently been around since 1972 so I had to see how they've survived. After one bite of my coconut pastelito, I completely understood! Then I took a bite of the coco macaroon. I understood even better. Then I took a bite of the rice pudding and I completely got it. Over 50 years in business because each bite is like fireworks in your mouth. and read more

Coffee Heaven and Great Atmosphere Vicky Bakery has the best coffee in town -- hands down! I come almost every day for my cortadito, and it's consistently smooth and flavorful. The pastries are irresistible, especially the guava and cheese pastelito. The environment is lively but comfortable, and the staff makes sure everyone leaves happy. Five stars all around read more

Amazing Food and Even Better People The food here is top-notch -- everything from the croquetas to the sandwiches tastes fresh and homemade. Their cafecito is bold and perfectly sweetened. The employees are always smiling and make you feel like family the moment you walk in. The bakery is spotless and inviting, with great music and a positive vibe. Love coming here after work! read more

This place captures everything I love about Miami culture -- amazing Cuban food, the smell of fresh coffee, and warm people. The sandwiches are perfectly toasted, and the pastries melt in your mouth. The staff is attentive and upbeat, and the environment always feels like home. It's the kind of bakery that keeps you coming back again and again. read more

This place has amazing Cuban and other Hispanic foods! The coffee is out of this world. The atmosphere is incredible, and the staff are even better. read more

The cafe con leche was very smooth with the perfect amount of sweetness. No complaints here. However the baked empanada is another story. I don't know if it had been sitting out, but the pastry was extremely dry and stale. The ground beef was dry and crumbly. Possibly the least flavorful empanada I've ever had. read more

The lady who took my order was very sweet. The place was very clean. The empanadas, ham croquetas, toast with butter, and coffee with milk were all delicious. read more

Actually terrible. I got a Cuban sandwich. Everything seemed fine until I bit into it and the pork seemed a little too pulled and a little too soft. Basically a paste. Upon further inspection I discovered that the pork, or rather what remained of what once used to be pork, had some mold growing on it. 0/10. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. If I could give negative stars - I would. read more

Vicky bakery @ FIU is the place to come and chill. No other place on FIU has what they have to offer. Great food, awesome location, very chill environment. To me, it's what FIU always needed. I'd classify it as the Ritz of Starbucks. This is the first eatery to produce mega chill vibes. Let me explain. You walk in, and there's plenty of places to mingle, plenty of choices to eat and drink, and a relaxing lake in the back with plenty of seating area. I feel like every school has those places but here. Then there's soft music, events, and they cater! I'll be back for one or four hundred fried ham & cheese empanadas - they're a brain booster. read more

A brand new edition to FIU! Vicky's Cafe is a franchise that is trying to differentiate themselves and has many amazing thing that Vicky Bakery does not. Vicky's Cafe had partnered up with Panther Coffee to provide delicious Cafe Con Leches. They have the delicious bakery treats and they even have a take out window, just like a normal bakery would have EXCEPT IT'S ON CAMPUS! The best and newest thing about the location is that they have a bar where they sell wine an beer! Now what bakery does that? Exactly! There's a lot of space to study inside and the outside seating is right beside a lakeside view. So wherever you choose to sit, it'll be a time well spent. Most importantly, pastelitos are HALF OFF after 5pm! read more

Vicky Cafe FIU - Cafe con leche - Bakeries Near Me - Miami, Florida

Being that we're in Miami, I'm glad to see the local foods have seeped their way in to our academic institutions. We all know that croquetas are the original Cuban protein bar and as this school is attended by both locals and out of state students, it offers a glimpse into the miami food culture that our city so proudly boasts about. Sometimes you need a pastelito to get by and they're inexpensive so it's perfect for students on a budget and on a time crunch. Many people grab their bites and chill out on their laptops finishing assignments and surrounded by coffee and WiFi. It's near the Blue and Gold parking garages which most students park at making it an easy stop to get your fuel. It's exactly what you'd expect from the chain except it's on campus and easy to access. I grew up on pastelitos and I'm glad that FIU has this location open. read more

Vicky Cafe at FIU is a very nice spot to hangout at, especially early in the morning when it's empty. They have couches and tables big enough for large groups. The breakfast was good and filling enough for me. I got a large cafe con leche and their ham and cheese croissant. They also have spanish music playing on their tv along with the music videos, so it's way better than Cafe Bustelo here at FIU. The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because they don't warn you on how hot the coffee is going to be. I usually know when coffee is extremely hot, but the cup is thick so you can't feel how hot it actually is. The second time I came, I got the same thing, and a customer in line warned me not to burn myself, which I think is something the associates should've done. But other than that, I liked being there. It's also a nice place to study. read more

Vicky Cafe used to be my go-to campus spot to satisfy my cravings, but unfortunately the quality has gone down. They have removed the happy hour deal with 50% off pastelitos. However, with the removal of the deal, the pastelitos got less and less filling. They are all crust! I ordered the guava and cheese pastelito and I promise you it was only 1 bite of cheese with 7 huge and thick bites of crust. My advice to them is if you're going to remove deals and be more expensive than the average Cuban bakery, make it worth your customer's while. The pastelitos cost $1.30, with barely any filling. There are other bakeries that give you much less crust and more filling for less. I have attached pictures to the review so readers can see. I do, however, want to give credit to the staff. They are very warm and friendly! read more

This is my go to coffee spot whenever I'm on campus. This spot has all your coffee and pastry needs. This is one of the well known bakeries from Miami so it's nice to have it on campus. They also offer beer and wine which is pretty cool. They have plenty of tables inside and outside where you can sit inside with your classmates or even if you want to get some homework done. They also have a little ventanita if you are in a rush and do not want to go inside. read more

I know there's new businesses brewing around the FIU campus, but I'm going to make a statement I will always stand by: Vicky's is the best one and by a mile. Located next to the Frost art museum, Vicky's is the typical bakery we all grew up with. Pastellitos de guayaba, de queso, croquettas, coladas y cortaditos, whatever your heart desires lies within these four walls. It's a great place to hang out or study; there is plenty of seating inside as well as the outside patio/front, for those who prefer a more scenic approach. It's cozy enough to allow any stressed student who just wants to relax to do so without having to leave the campus. They also have planned activities depending on the weekday. Tuesdays is salsa night and they give a free lesson from 7:30-8:30 pm. And the second and last Thursday of the month is always Mic night from 7-10 pm. If you have any talent of any kind, you can showcase it to the crowd that is sure to be there. But the best part of it all? The beer. That's right, Vicky's has craft beer on tap, much of which are local beer breweries such as Concrete Beach, MIA, Tank, etc. just grab a glass and take a chair inside and get to work. Tips: from 3-7pm is Happy Hour. Take advantage of the 5$ sangrias, you won't regret it. I believe in terms of the craft beer, you get a large cup for the price of the regular, which is another steal and 1$ off bottled beer. read more

The greatest thing about this place is the convenience it provides, being right on the FIU MMC campus, right behind the Graham Center, near the Blue and Gold garage. Overall, this place will satisfy your Cuban bakery and sandwich cravings. It has a pretty cheap breakfast option but I agree with most here, however, in saying that the food options are lackluster and there's really nothing outstanding about it. Fried empanadas are greater than baked for sure. The Cuban coffee is decent but I probably wouldn't come here just for that as cafe bustelo is closer and just as good. Highlight of this place, and why i'm a regular here, is because it is a really good place to hang and have a beer/drink on campus after a long day of class. Happy hour starts at 4:30PM and I often grab a quick drink while waiting for traffic to subside. Their on-tap selections are good, with a lot of local favorites. The inside of the cafe itself is also very chic and a pretty nice place to study or have meetings. I love their outside seating and at the end of the day it's rare that I leave Vicky's unhappy with my experience. read more

Got terrible food poisoning from this place, I would not recommend 0/10, I had the Media Noche sandwich and it was terrible

Even after I graduate I think that I will have to come back just for this gem! Cuban food, craft beer, and coffee! What more can you really need!!?? There is always a good vibe here, the food has always come quickly after I ordered it and it is always fresh! I always get a pizza pastel because why not!!?? And I tried the croqueta preparada sandwich and it was HUGE!! And delicious! They also have Panther coffee but beware that the Nitro comes in a very small cup! But it is potent! Needless to say I was wired! They also have a lot of local craft beer and at a pretty reasonable price! read more

Vicky's... where do I even start? Vicky's has everything a college student needs (sans sleep). Quality matters here. All of their baked goods are fresh/delicious and at a pretty average price point. They have delicious offerings of orange juice (fresh squeezed -- I highly recommend!), Cuban coffee, wine, sangria AND local craft beer! With friendly service and their varied options, they have no competition on campus. What I would recommend: -Empanadas and pastelitos are amazing here. -Don't ask for your coffee extra sweet, Cuban coffee already comes sweet. -Grab breakfast or lunch and write your paper or go over your lab report. Their space is clean, bright, well air conditioned and comfortable. Looking for a healthy option? They have a healthy breakfast with egg whites, turkey and tomatoes. It wasn't the best thing I had here but definitely was a great option to stay on track with my diet. read more

Vicky Cafe FIU - Better than it looks. Especially with tostada! - Bakeries Near Me - Miami, Florida

Here at the Vicky Bakery located at FIU, you feel as if you're off campus in a cool, urban café. Located by the Art Museum, it's a one stop shop for coffee, a cuban's one true love. Today I tried their "Iced café con leché", it was bold, perfectly brewed espresso with a touch of sugar, and splash of milk. And what goes better with cafécito than a pastelito? Guava is my favorite. Vicky Bakery is such a staple to Miami, and I am content to have one located on campus. If you're feeling adventurous, there's wine and craft beers, as well. read more

Ordered croquetas, guava pastellitos, and a cortadito. Both cortadito and pastellitos were what you'd expect. Croquetas were nice and fresh. Crispy on the outside and the meat filling was pleasantly delicious. It was better than I expected. Good option to get your cuban fix at. read more

Good coffee and good food is all you need. I recommend ordering a cafe con leche whether it is hot or iced. For food, try the ham croquetas, papa rellena, or empanadas. They also have a delicious breakfast special of eggs, your choice of meat like ham or bacon, tostada, and french fries. There are also pastries and cakes if you're looking for something on the sweet side. I have also tried the pan con bistec for lunch and it does not disappoint. Inside this cute area, there is a couch in the lounge area. Tall chairs and tables, and a TV that plays music. Outside also has seating with a pretty view of a lake. read more

I just wanted to share that I recently had the opportunity to meet and speak with the manager, who is so nice and extremely dedicated. They are working on enhancing the customer experience which includes a "grab and go" section (recognizing that preparing food made-to-order is extremely time consuming for the staff and the customer) which will also have salad options. They also overhauled the dessert section and I've had the opportunity to try two of the layered cakes now and they are both DELICIOUS! This place has recently become THE place to be at on campus for not only Cuban food but for their craft beers, live dj and of course famous Cuban coffee! You want something that is going to pack a punch order the cafecito! That will take you from sleepy to being wide awake! Their pastries in my opinion are the best part of the menu. The staff is nice and today's service was quick! The environment is nice as it's a great spot to go with coworker's and even for other social events! The place was pretty packed! In terms of accessibility to those outside the university community I would say is difficult in terms of parking. People who don't have a decal have to pay to park which can be an inconvenience. But if your in the area and looking for a place for breakfast or lunch you will enjoy it! read more

If you want cold empanadas and an incorrect order come right on in! I ordered a simple meal: 2 fried empanadas and a side of fries. I never recieved a reciept or was asked if I wanted one. After the transaction is when the cashier decides to tell me there isn any fried empanadas (my guess is that you should check first.... you work here... but anyway) After 10 minutes of waiting, Alex (my server i guess) gave me a bag of croquettas. Confused, I said that this wasnt my order. He looked at me stupid and mumbled something about bringing me the correct order. After 20 minutes he comes out with a bag of empanadas. I bite into one and it's basically FROZEN! I shouldve taken a picture to show you guys. Anyway, I calmly ask for a refund and Alex of course is looking at me stupidly from across the room, while the manager coldly takes care of the refund. No offer for a free cupcake or cookie or whatever, SOMETHING. All I got was a cold "sorry about that" from the manager only. Ive worked in food service for almost two years and while it is mentally and physically exhausting at times, ITS NOT HARD. You're a university student.... frankly that was embarrassing for you. Anyway my point is, the service here is super slow, meek and clearly the employees are not trained properly or dont care about the product they are selling. I'm giving it one star because the cafe is cute. thats it. read more

Sorry but this place (Vicky's in general) is all hype and 100 percent overrated. We ordered a birthday package and the pastelitos de guayaba were stale and the meat pastelitos had literally (.) this much meat and I wish I was exaggerating!! Not to mention that it's ridiculously overpriced for what it is! There are plenty of bakeries around town that are far better! The cake was made god knows when since the frosting was acidic and tasted like it had gone bad! Mind you we kept it in the fridge until an hour before we were going to cut it so I know it's nothing we did. Very disappointing, stick to Pinecrest Bakeries or Chantilly on 8th and 127Ave! read more

I always thought of this as a museum restaurant since it's next to the excellent Frost art collection, but in reality it is a nice cafe on the beautiful FIU main campus. Nice staff, nice selection of small latin bites. Just wish they had some better vegan items on the menu. read more

Poor service. The cashier was pretty rude, we get it you don't like your job but if you're taking an order at least try to listen. When I asked someone in a Vicky's shirt if they could get me a mango juice which was right behind them in a fridge they responded with I don't work here I work in the lakes location... it's like really dude you couldn't just get the juice behind you or ask someone else... idk man my friends and I wanted to be eco friendly and brought our own coffee cups and they stilled used their own cup to measure and throw away....so they pretty much defeated the whole purpose super disappointed read more

As a Cuban coffee addict, I think this is an amazing addition to FIU! The atmosphere is nice and study friendly, you can even sip on your coffee and munch on your pastelitos outside in the back deck. I've had their pastelitos, coffee, and croquettes. All great as long as it's early, as with any bakery really. Prices may be a little too high for me, compared to the other Cuban location on campus. read more

A cool place to study at the FIU campus. Lots of seating, indoors and out, though it fills up around lunch. I usually get the cafe con leche and Cuban toast (so buttery). They have a wide variety of Cuban pastries and some beers as well. The cafe has good music and a hip ambience. read more

FIU has a plethora of eating options, but they honestly won with the whole dining space and craft beer situation. We used to have breaks on 9-hour class sessions on Saturdays and the tequeño withdrawals were real. We would sneak out and walk all the way from Mango to Vicky's because a colada and a snack was just worth it. And on top of that, I'm not even a fan of Cuban food, so there you go. read more

This cafe may have the most authentic Miami style Cuban sandwich in the city. This sandwich is made with real pulled roast pork and not the cheap deli imitation. The pulled roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles and mustard combine in each bite to create a harmony of flavors in your mouth. On the other hand, their pan con lechón (pulled roast pork sandwich) seemed like it was made with reheated leftovers, the pork was almost burnt, crunchy and flavorless. I'd definitely come back for their Cuban. read more
