Unfortunately, the owner of the dealership hid several issues from me, likely because I do not have extensive knowledge about cars.After driving the car for about two weeks, I began to feel that something was wrong. I decided to have my own mechanic inspect it. After a full check‑up, my mechanic found multiple serious problems, which he showed me in person. These issues included: Bad oil and filter -- both needed immediate replacement Worn-out tires-Severely damaged front brakes Bad rotors- Deteriorated brake fluid -- almost dried out Damaged calipers -- rubber components were melting due to age Engine oil leakAll of these issues required urgent repairs. I rely on this car daily to take my daughter to her school activities, and driving it in that condition felt unsafe. I contacted the dealership and explained everything directly to the owner, Mr. Yazan M. They asked me to bring the car back so their mechanic could inspect it, but I declined. I told the owner I did not trust their mechanic, because these problems should have been identified before selling the car. Instead, I asked the dealership to reimburse the money I spent on repairs, since I had lost trust in them.I spent $3,136.51 fixing all the issues, and the repairs were completed on June 20th, 2026. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to get reimbursed, but the dealership has been using delaying tactics. Every time I call, the secretary, Myra, tells me they will help me with the reimbursement, but their actions show they are not sincere.I want to warn others who purchased vehicles from SSS Auto Sales to have their cars inspected by their own mechanic, not the dealership's. Do not rely solely on what the dealership says. They hid major issues from me, and you may discover similar problems if you check your vehicle thoroughly. After driving an hour and 20 minutes from Oceanside, I was a little nervous on what we are going to get that I have experienced with cheesy used car dealers in the past who are high-pressure pitch, or try to be charged for these silly "mandatory" dealer add-ons (such as Lo Jack GPS tracking and /or protection film). Or the dreaded "oh so sorry, we just sold that one, but we have this ugly more expensive car over here!"...but nothing like that here. Gio was very knowledgeable and I liked his consultative sales style was also professional. He explained that they mainly buy cars "Green Light" from auctions: the auctioneer guarantees the purchaser (Hanna Autotomize in this case) that the car is mechanically sound regarding the engine, transmission, and drive train. The auctioneer that sell these Green Light cars offers arbitration to the dealer too (returning the car or getting repair costs) if hidden, major defects are found within a 7-14 days. Gio's dealer do charge a few hundred dollars (up to $995 I think?) depending on the car price) that covered the cost to replace anything after their own internal mechanic reviews the car, so that there are no surprises later that would have to be relaced by me anyways. They provided a CarFax for free and an option for a paid extended warranty for peace of mind too. I am really lucky to find this boutique family owned dealer and I highly recommend Hanna.

In other words I truly wanted this review to be full of truth of experience and worth. Couple of things I was worried about. Buying a Car off Holt. Lets be honest there are not a lot of things that I have known that are good to buy off Holt other than street tacos. Not exactly the place I would think I would have an amazing customer service experience with great people and great product. Steve, and the Team here is what I would call Magnificent. I was not exactly what you would call an easy sale. I was also a bit strangely organized financially because of my type of business so I proved to be a bit of a challenge for them. Calm and collected they were never worried. Only me. I left this place driving an excellent car with great milage and what I would call no buyer remorse. Mostly because of the experience which I thought would or could get salted over time but it has not. There were a few issues with my purchase that involved the navigation and control module. Steve assured me he would help me take care of it and another minor issue was that the lights are so fogged up they hardly look they are on. Once I get to a place where I can drop this car off I will have it handled but either way I can say this. There is reason why this organization is 5 Stars. They do everything right. They have the cars you are looking for and more importantly the attitude needed to make a good experience. In sales its about the CAN DO attitude. The 2 Lacosta brothers running this business are the most honest and trustworthy salesmen you can find in the area. They specialize in affordable used cars! Come here to buy, sell or trade! My family has been coming here since our struggling origins. When I say struggles, I mean, we were a ONE CAR household. My dad would drop my mom off at work in the mornings and either he or my aunt would pick my mom up from work. We had a humble living and even with one car, we couldn't afford anything too new. The La Costa brothers were there to provide their automotive knowledge and extremely reliable recommendations. The cars we purchased from them throughout the years had no headaches. When it was time to afford to budget a second car into our household, it was legendary. We felt extremely blessed and fulfilled to have what others would imagine to be basic necessities. La Costa Auto Sales was a major factor in making that transition possible for their reasonable rates and reliability. I will always always feel grateful that they were able to be there for us during tough times. Pass forward to the present, we are blessed to afford to buy newer cars from the Honda dealership, but that leaves us with an "old" car on hand. Honda offered quite an insulting value, and my dad immediately said No thank you! We knew selling it to La Costa Auto Sales would be an honest amount, whatever the offer would be. This business is not there any longer. I went today, and it's a different "dealer" and some type of…read moreauto repair or body shop. I say "dealer" because it was pretty scummy and dirty. None of the cars had prices, the majority were filthy and beat up, nothing like the pictures. We tried to go into the office and the door was locked. Someone did come out and said they were a new business but it seemed pretty shady. There was also a nasty white Ford van that had a poor American Bull dog or pit mix tied up, lying under the van! Its water pot was partly filled with dirty, green water sitting right out in the sun. We took video and pictures, and one of the employees of the auto shop, after I started asking questions, went and grabbed the water and started cleaning it out, and gave the dog some fresh water. We filed a report with OC Animal Care. Hopefully they go check on the dog. I would honestly stay away from that place. I will be going back by there to check and see if anything has been done to correct the situation.
