Happy hour is from 3 to 7. The only happy things I'm aware of are; $8 pitchers, $2.95 Margaritas. But if it's 6:45 and and you want to order another pitcher they make you finish the one you have before they bring you another. Their micheladas are soo good at $5.50 each and they come with two shrimp, a slice of lime and a celery stick, like a Mexican antipasto on the rim of your cup. The patio seating is pretty cool, a little like your own cabana, but it also reminded me of the ride at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. ***If you only want to drink, they charge $1.95 for Salsa and chips. We ordered Fiesta de Camarones ($29.95), which is shrimp prepared 5 different ways at 4 shrimp each. They came fried, wrapped in Bacon, in diablo sauces, de ajo and agua chile. The diablo's tasted like canned enchilada sauce. The chile water needed something, maybe more lime. Their beans were good. They do this thing on their receipt called "rounding" which rounds the change to the nearest tenth. All the "rounding" probably adds to a pretty penny at the end of the day. I have been frequenting this little joint for a few years now. Admittedly they go through staff like I go through my underwear, so the service can be hit or miss. They seem to hire young chicas who are fairly attractive but looks aren't everything, when the place gets busy, these kids get nervous and service goes from bad to worse. Been coming for a few years now ... They have good Michiladas, come in a large mug and topped off with a fresh shrimp on the rim! I usually have their bacon wrapped shrimp plate - Costa Azul but have tried their Aqua Chiles Oysters - and man those things were GREAT! I am not an oyster fan at all, but do like aqua chiles and this combination is incredible. Give them a try as its your typical oyster tray but each individual oyster topped off with ceviche, one nice sized shrimp and aqua chiles. Make sure you grab a beer to wash down that heat tho - because it sure does have a KICK to it. They have a crazy good happy hour with dollar beers that happens DAILY. Their bar area is cool with a few tables, bar seating, a TV for sports or novelas lol, and an additional tv for camera view of the back parking lot so you can check up on your car. Their outdoor seating is cool and have intimate booths and the service is pretty consistent along with their food - good. Give this place a shot! read more

The calamari and the tacos gobernador are amazing and the owners are really nice. We sat outside in their covered patio, which is where they have karaoke. The michelada are the bomb and they have great happy hour specials like $1 Bud Lights. Patio area looks like a garden but has great lamps. Our Apps were served w/ No napkins, No silverware, No plates. Then service became Non Existent. Wanted more drinks & tortillas never came w/ our meal :( Rest rooms are disgusting!! Unbelievable for a restaurant, made me lose my appetite! YUCK!! 1 restroom stall was clogged & over-flowing, floor littered w/ trash & paper. Trash can overflowing & hand sink dirty!! Didn't see any soap to wash hands & out of paper towels to dry hands, although there was a roll on the floor... No Thx! dirty restrooms worse than a night club! Gotta say this is the MUST go to restaurant. We never have such good Mexican food in our entire life. Since I came to the states for 10 years. Usually, we go to some famous Mexican restaurant franchises, but they were not really impressive. There are many kinds of food there especially seafood. I had two plates with my gal today. The first plate I had was coming with 4 fried shrimps wrapped with bacon, 4 fried breaded shrimps, 4 garlic shrimps, 4 shrimps in red sauce and 4 shrimps (cooked with lime). Each one has its own unique taste. The other one was 6 oysters and each oyster has ground fish and shrimp on it in the green sauce. It's amazing. Thank you for making such a fantastic food. It really opens up my mind for the differences between good and great Mexican food. Not to mention that the service was also great. I am definitely going back again!!! Update on 11/3/13: we came to this place place again with our aunties. We ordered the lobster place this time. Oh, it was amazing, this plate came with 3lb. of lobster, tons of shrimps, halibut, squids, scallops, imitation crabs. Four of us could not finish it. My aunties were very pleased with the freshness of the seafood. Even though we are Thai (Asian), we saw tons of servers and they were so kind and keep coming back and asked us how we were doing. To us, the service was great. We called them thousand times for more salsa, and to go boxes with new sauces and they always smile to us. The price was ridiculously low compared with the quality & quantity they provide. Just 3 lbs of lobster alone in Thailand, we already pay double than this plate and it was not even this fresh. so I go into this place looking forward for a nice meal and a drink. I arrived at 5:43 Pm, sat there until 6:15 , I was not acknowledged by the waiter and a waitress. Two other tables showed after I did and their were helped upon arrival. So at 6:20 I've asked the waiter if I could have a menu, he got me one , dropped off walked away as if nobody was there. I've waited ten more minutes hoping to order something,waiter walked many times by me and didn't acknowledged me, at this time without making a scene I politely walked out. Came here with friends on a weekday afternoon around 7pm. We sat outside and the waitress came and gave us our order. The waitress was friendly but seemed like a new worker. She would forget to refill our drinks, utensils, and had a little knowledge on the menu. I got the fish tostadas which were $1 each. Waitress did bring out chips and salsa for us and gave us extra chips when we finished them. I ate one tostada it was okay nothing too special. We went to pick some lunch here. We picked up ceviche, 1lb of fish and 2lb of shrimp. We order it like that because my mom is allergic to shrimp. But from what it looks like they mix the shrimp in with the fish ceviche. We have been there three times before and each time they do the same thing. They have been told several times to fix the issue, but I guess a customers issue doesn't really matter. We called to fix this issue and they told us to come in and they will fix the issue, but when I had mentioned that my mom is allergic to shrimp the chef in the background was laughing. We love this place for great Mexican and fresh seafood. They have really tasty food and good prices. I love their asada tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp.... Mmmmm if you love garlic you must try the garlic shrimp. Didn't really dig their shrimp cocktail today ... too much of a shrimpy flavor for me or their choriqueso our last visit but other than that I have no complaints. . I can't wait to try their whole lobster! Been coming here for the last 8 years and it was always worth the drive coming from Alhambra, not anymore. The waitress wasn't the best but I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say she may have been new. All these years I've always ordered the tacos gobernadores and this time they made it different. It seems that now they deep fry the whole taco which made it dry and the shrimp rubbery. I ordered 2 plates which is a total of 4 tacos but I only ate 2 since they were terrible. I mentioned to the waitress that the tacos weren't good and I wasn't satisfied since they were dry. All she was "Oh ok" and walked away. We stood there about 5 hours and our bill was $240. I asked the waitress to take off one of the set of tacos since they tasted dry and terrible and she said her manager said no since I waited too long to ask. I was so surprised and disappointed at the response especially after all that we spent. Management is different, the whole vibe to this place is different and in the worst way possible. I will no longer do business with this place. Stick with Taco Nazo next door who has the best fish and shrimp tacos or of course good ol' King Taco across the street. read more

We had the baby octopus for the first time the other day and the wait for them was pretty long but once they came and we tried them they were TOTALLY worth the wait!! So freaking good!!!! Oysters were really fresh and yummy. My daughter LOVED her asada tacos. Then they send our table drinks and the drinks were given to another table. Then when we ordered our drinks and food everything was wrong. The girl serving our table did nothing to fix the issues. Had the worse experience, I went today for lunch and ordered tostadas De ceviche de pescado, waitress brought tostadas De ceviche De camaron "I'm allergic to shrimp" I tell her and she brings me her notepad saying I said shrimp!! "The nerve" so much for good customer services.
