I'm Detroit born and raised, living in Sacramento, visiting Utah for work. And this was my first time here and I will be back every time I visit Utah. The pizza was so good and brought me back home in spirit. I ordered the Detroiter and the Cadillac. The Detroiter is better pepperoni pizza. I really enjoyed my pizza, but I did not like that the deep dish did not have tomato sauce in every bite. I've never really had deep dish so I don't know if that's just the way it is. Me and my family love via 313! They have some of the best pizza, I love the deep dish style. My favorites are the herbivore (veggie pizza) and the Cadillac, I love the basalmic dressing it comes with! My mom got the jalapeño poppa and loves it! We come all the time for those pizzas! We came together for my grandest angels birthday. I love well done Napolitano style pizza. I ordered half cheese and half pepperoni. It was perfect. The kids had ate from the kids menu. 2 small pieces of pizza with a drink and superman ice cream for dessert. My son had the cheese and jalapeño pizza. They prepare the pizza so that every slice has crispified cheese all around. The atmosphere is fantastic. The tables are large and can seat up to 8 people. I've been here a few times now and the service is always on point. I rave to all of my coworkers about their beet salad. Best beet salad I've had in these United States and my coworker agreed with me and he shared that he isn't a salad guy. The small Detroit sized pizzas were plenty for one person. One of my biggest pet peeves is a restaurant being out of items on their menu, especially chain restaurants, let alone multiple items (4+). Food and/or service can't make up for the extremely poor management of being out of stock of so many items. Pizza was good and obviously not fault of the server/wait staff being out of so many items. Visited Via at the recommendation of a friend and it was every bit as good as he said it was. We shared a lunch special that comes with two slices of Detroiter, 4/5 pizza or cheese, we opted for the Detroiter which has two kinds of pepperoni. A large salad 5/5 and a drink for $12. And a half and half Detroit style pizza (4 slices) with half Boba Brazil, sausage with Mike's hot honey, do good. I'd put Mikes hot honey on any pizza and have done so at home. 5/5 And half Funkadelic Chicken. 4.5/5 very good. Our server Aaron was great, kept the drinks coming, anticipated when we'd need a box and had it ready, and answered all our questions in a friendly manner. Five stars for Aaron 5/5. And the cinnamon sticks dessert at the end is a must try. It is deep dish Detroit style pizza and it's good. Obviously popular as the restaurant was packed on a Friday night. We had the half what would be a supreme and half of what would be a pineapple and ham. It was good. The crust is good, ingredients good, a good hearty pizza. Not the best deep dish I've ever had but definitely worthy of repeat business. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I was invited to a little graduation dinner at Via 313. So so sad to hear Red Wing is no longer being offered. So they did put a pizza together that was as similar they could get to the Red Wing and it was good, but not as amazing as the real thing. The service was good, our drinks were kept full and on a Wednesday evening it wasn't busy at all. The music gets too loud depending on the song. We used the QR code to try and alter the playlist, but it was quite limited and frankly a little disappointing that we couldn't truly influence the playlist. read more

The seats pop black and red on top of an industrial style restaurant. Ample seating including the bar area. Monthly special menus and a M-F lunch special are available. Two types of pizza available, Detroit style (focaccia base, square cut, sauce on top) and a Massachusetts style (thin round). Apps and salads are a great way to pass the time if you order the Detroit style pizza as they take ~20 minutes to bake. Service is amazing and Anthony was fantastic at answering questions and giving recommendations. We settled on the beet salad and the rocket pizza and we're very pleased with our choices. We recently went to the one in American Fork and were blown away so when we saw a location in Sandy we were excited to go. This location however was a disappointment. The dining area looked very nice and felt a lot more open than the AF location. Our server however was less than enthusiastic to take our order. We asked for bread dough for our kids to play with and he was like "I guess I'll ask the kitchen" We then waited 50 minutes for our food!!! The ladies who were seated right before us, got their meal, ate and left before we got our two pizzas. So that was frustrating. The waiter was good about filling our water but after we got our pizza he was nowhere to be found until he brought us our check. The positive note was that the pizza was just as yummy as we were expecting. So that was great. It's just a shame that we had a mediocre experience with the waiter and our food took forever. If I was rating the food itself it would have been 5 stars. But I will not be going back to this location. read more

Now, I know they are known for thick crust Detroit Style pizza but something else caught our eye on the menu. There's a thin crust Bar Style, called "The Stooges" which is a spinach, shallot, and parmesan crisp pizza (we ordered it minus the artichokes). YUM! Crust was good, cheese was great, tomato sauce was flavorful, they were generous with the spinach, and the shallots gave it nice flavor. Customer service at the bar was great! Via 313 really hit the spot! We came in on a whim for a late lunch and immediately got a table as it wasn't too busy. The main event here is the Detroit style pizza, but the menu also consists of bar style pizza (which seem to resemble a more traditional thin crust pie) plus a few appetizers and salad options. They also have a pretty decent drink menu with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I stuck with water but my partner tried the Moab root beer they had and it was very good. I started out with a small career salad that was solid and could easily be shared. For pizza, we both went with the Detroit style. My partner got a small cheese and I tried a small Bobo Brazil / 500. You can split your pizza to try two different kinds which I really liked. Size wise, you could share a small between 2 people if you aren't super hungry. We both ended up taking some pizza home. Service was really great! Everyone we encountered was friendly and our server gave us a quick rundown when we said it was our first time visiting. He also brought over some ice cream at the end as a welcome gift. We didn't order any dessert off the menu, but they had floats (root beer, coke, orange soda, etc), cinnamon sticks, and ice cream options. We were very hungry, so I got a salad and we ordered an appetizer. The salad came out quickly and with tongs so you can share my husband did not want any of the beet salad, so I got it all to myself. It was large, a good shareable size presented beautifully. Everything was very fresh and full of flavor, you get loads of beets and I love that, the arugula was bitter the Gorgonzola cheese was not too overpowering, and the candied pecans were divine. It did not specify on the menu the dressing, but I think it was a vinaigrette. I definitely recommend this salad if you like beets. Our appetizer was roasted artichokes. My husband is a big fan of artichokes. I am fine with them. The marinara had a garlicky flavor that I loved and the artichokes were very nice. I am picky about my goat cheese, but I usually like herbed goat cheese. I really like the added layer of flavor that the herbed goat cheese added to the dish. The appetizer came with crostini's that were prepared, perfectly very thin, crunchy and held the roasted artichoke perfectly. I wish we had one or two more because we had a bit more of the roasted artichoke, but we had eaten all of the crostini's. This appetizer was very tasty, and I definitely recommend it if you like artichokes and herbed goat cheese. My husband got a genuine Detroit style 4 square Detroiter, with two different types of pepperoni. We traded slices. I would definitely order it again. I ordered the genuine Detroit style 4 square omnivore. It had a gracious amount of vegetables as well as sausage and pepperoni. I really enjoyed the freshness of all the vegetables. The pepperoni was Yum. Yum and so was the sausage. I am also very picky about my sausage in general. The sausage was slightly spicy with a nice texture and a tasty flavor. Definitely try the omnivore if you like your pizza with meat and vegetables. I ordered the raspberry basil Mule. I do not think it is on the regular menu. I think it was one of the specials. The taste was flavorful and refreshing. I could taste the basil, but not the raspberry. It was presented in a traditional mule style copper mug with the handle, to me that is the best vessel to drink your mule out of, it had a cute garnish of basil and raspberry that made it look very festive. This is a really good pizza. The people who we were with convinced me that the gluten free pizza crust was very tasty and light. So even though I'm not gluten free, I tried it because I didn't want to get bogged down with a bunch of crust right before we went dancing. They were right. It was pretty good. Our waitress was pretty nice. But we had a water spill on our table and she called a busser over to help wipe it up. He wiped the water around the table then took the rags and wiped the floor. We mentioned that there was still tons of water on the table and the waitress took one of the rags and wiped the table. After it had just mopped up the floor. Hmmmm. Gross. I've been to Via 313 in Texas so I was excited to see it here in Utah. Food is amazing and atmosphere is excellent. The problem is the bartender with an ego. I chose to sit at the bar in which the guy ID'd me before I even sat down regardless of whether or not I was ordering a beer. I told the bartender and he gave me attitude the entire time. I'll just say the Texas locations are much friendlier. Definitely I recommend but don't sit at the bar in Utah. read more

Oh we realllly liked Via313! The motor city vibe is pretty cool and the atmosphere is fun. There's a bar area + regular seating. If you're in a hurry, the bar is your best bet on a weekend night since it does get busy and they do not offer reservations (from what I've seen). The Rocket is literally so so good! I loved the crust and fluffiness. The flavors together were prickly perfect for this pizza. I like the Cadillac but felt like it needed something else - maybe arugula on the top? Only reason for 4 stars is that we thought were 'given' the cinnamon sticks complementary because it was our first time - which what the server told us. We also saw others being given these for their first time too, but we ended up getting charged for them? A little odd... but regardless we'll be back because the pizza was delicious! read more

Sandy, UT Sunday night at 6:45 we had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. Not because it was too busy but because they are understaffed. This is my second visit to the restaurant. I enjoyed it the first time and decided I would come back. The pizza is Detroit style. They offer a square pizza with very crunchy edges and a thick pizza with the sauce on top not on the dough itself. So the sauce goes on top of all of the toppings you choose for your pizza. Very good! The great part is the pizza. Delicious! The bad part is two-fold. The tomato sauce on top of the pizza was warm to cold. The really bad part is the service. The bartender/waiter (name Anthony?) was curt. He was so busy he snapped a few times. Didn't have time for us. I think we saw him 3 times. The host was a young guy. Managing the front of house and trying to bus the tables. Hard worker and pleasant. The inside of the restaurant is basic. Red vinyl booths and standard tables. The decor had 313 printed on mural with some hubcap rims. The pizza is served on a pizza pan. If you ask for a plate, they bring you an aluminum round. I would like to see a glass plate as another option as I hate anything to do with aluminum. I do like the fact that they have cloth napkins and real flat wire. The water cups are hard plastic. I'm glad that my beer was served ice cold in a glass. I would definitely come back here. It would be nice to see them get more help so that they can run the restaurant more efficiently. read more

Had the Detroit style pepperoni, the Cadillac, and went off menu had had them make a margarita pizza (which ended up being our favorite). We didn't like the cheese that came with the Cadillac pizza and would order it with mozzarella instead next time. That was good because we were starving and came here because after choosing not to wait 2 hours at another place despite being on the waitlist and initially being told the wait would be shorter. You can get a regular round pizza, but why come here for that? Come here for the deep dish square pan style where the crust and cheese gets all crispy on the edges. The small comes with 4 big pieces. And they let you do halves, so you can try two pizzas in one. I got the Buffalo chicken on one half and the 500 on the other (but I subbed bacon for the pepperoni because my stomach gets angry with me when I eat pepperoni). They were both fantastic! I liked the Buffalo chicken just a tiny bit more than and 500. I was worried that it might be too spicy, but it was just flavorful. It's got chicken, Frank's red hot, red onions, gorgonzola, mozzarella and a ranch drizzle. I could eat it every day. Really. My 500 had bacon (usually pepperoni), pickled jalapeños, pineapple rings, mozzarella, and in Detroit style, the pizza sauce on top. I could probably eat that every day, too. My husband got the carnivore, and my son got the original, which just had pepperoni. My brother and sister-in-law both did a half-and-half, but I can't remember the names of what they got. But they both exclaimed over how delicious it was. We also got the cinnamon sticks for dessert, and my son had a chocolate chip hubcap (warm cookie in a round dish with ice cream on top).
