Last night I was craving pizza. It's late... okay it's 9 pm but I wanted pizza. I've been here before but not finished my review../ let's go! I arrived, 30 minutes from 10 pm closing time. When I entered I received a big smile and hello . Great start. It's been awhile and for got the ordering process. The young lady helped me out and we were on. I ordered two pizzas and a black cherry bottled soda. The place was empty, since it was so late but clean. Shortly after My pizzas were ready and I went home with my takeout... when I got home the pizza was still warm and I really enjoyed the pesto veggie pizza. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp from the open faced oven. The second was my favorite pizza with pepperoni, black olives, jalapeño and pineapple. The food is great. Never any problems there. I came in at 12:37 for an online pickup order promised to be ready by 12:34. I stood in front of the counter waiting for five minutes right in front of a worker who did not acknowledge I was there or ask what I needed. When I finally asked if they had a pickup order ready for me, they realized they still hadn't made my pizza. It wasn't ready until 15 minutes past the promised time, making me late to get back from my lunch break. The whole idea of ordering online is to save time waiting in line and have your order ready when you show up. Being ignored for 5 minutes was disappointing. We were in the area and saw that they have a drive thru option. Quite a convenient idea and the lanes are well marked. Just watch out for the crazy drivers going the wrong way and hopping the curb to get to the drive thru. We observed this from two different SUVs during the one time we ordered! Anyway, the drive thru window is pretty straight forward. You may order something off their menu or create your own pizza. Bonus points for having a gluten free pizza crust option :) We drove up to the next window and paid for our order. In a reasonable amount of time, our ready to made pizza was handed to us and we drove off. By the time we got home, our pizza was still warm. The gluten free crust was just to our liking. The tomato sauce was flavorful yet not too salty. The pizza had the perfect ratio of mozzarella to toppings. They have a mini 6" for kids, 11" thin crust, 11" double thick crust, and 11" gluten-free or cauliflower crust. I prefer my pizza with thin crust, so that was my selection. If you don't want to create your own pizza, they do have some popular options to choose from. For those who only want a cheese pizza or single topping, you kinda miss out because you pay the same price as someone who piles on toppings (like me). For the toppings, I went to town with my choices! My pizza was more like a salad, so I call it my "pizzalad." For the sauce, I opted for the spicy red, and my choice of meat was bacon. For the veggies, I started off with a layer of basil and arugula, then added the mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, roasted cauliflower, corn, bell peppers, artichoke hearts, and tomatoes. When the pizza was baked, I had them finish off with pesto sauce and more arugula. Voilà, my pizzalad! My bear's pizza was simple, just classic red sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, mushrooms, spicy red peppers, and pesto. We had blackberry lemonade (I think it was blackberry), and it was really good. I especially loved how they have chewable crush ice! The pizza was good, but the service was below average by normal standards. They were a bunch of high school kids, so my expectations were low. Management could perhaps hire someone with a bit more experience to manage the teens and help develop their skills. I noticed the lack of uniforms and dress code for the staff, and it looked like any random person off the street stepped in to make the pizzas and wipe the tables. An investment in some t-shirts with the MOD Pizza logo would make this place look more professional, presentable, and cohesive. My general observation was this was a high school hang out, run by high school kids. This was an observation, not a complaint. If you don't mind the non-existent professionalism, then this place is worth visiting, because the pizza is good. Come with an open mind that most of these kids have no prior work experience, and they have no leadership to guide them. Overall, I was happy with my order and enjoyed my pizza. I love me some pizza....and I especially love it when I can customize it to how I want. MOD Pizza has been on my "places to try" list for awhile and I finally made it it. It's a fast casual concept where you order at the counter and tell the person on the other side which specific toppings you want. You pay the same price regardless of how many toppings you order-so fill your pie up, if that's what you want. They have a soda machine, but I snagged a San Pellegrino, one of my favorite drinks, at the cash register. The pizza was pretty good, but I felt like the dough was lacking in flavor and they were very conservative on the toppings-I probably should have asked them to add more. We enjoy Mod for many reasons. The prices are reasonable. You can get a pizza the way you want it for only $11-$12. It's a bit more for gluten-free or cauliflower crust options but I'm glad those options exist because my wife avoids gluten. You can do a variety of sauces and cheeses and proteins and veggies. They also have an option to add a sauce to the top of the pizza after as well as having a side for dipping. All things considered, you're in control of the pizza and they don't upcharge for each and every addition or modification made to the order. Rare to find these days. I don't know what took me so long to give this place a try, I wish I hadn't taken so long because this place is delicious! Not only is the food great, but the service is too. They have a lot of different pizzas with catchy names that you can try. Or you can build your own. And any pizza is just $7.65 (or something). Great deal! The crust is pretty thin and cooks really fast! It's crisp and chewy at the same time. Really good. And they have little crispy strips for $3 that come in garlic Parmesan, cinnamon, and something else I can't remember I think. All with your choice of dipping sauces.
