So grateful for this Post! If they had not been here this past year with COVID things would have been much harder.

I wish I could have met JD Mullen of the Veterans Benefits Consulting Group a long time ago. For…read moreten years, I had gone back and forth with the Veteran Administration to consider my 'during service' emotional and physical scars- to no avail. It seemed as if I served and once I no longer wore the uniform, no one cared. I will not go into the damage on this platform but I will say, the services that the Veteran Benefits Consulting Group provided, garnered me my just reward. JD was attentive, personable, professional, and he knew what the hell he was doing! He spoke the VA language and navigated the weird and wonky disability rating matrices. Let's just say it took him less than 90 days to achieve the results I labored 10 years trying to achieve. Oh! Vets - don't be sticker shocked either because I'd take $0 property taxes over his one time fee any day. Make the call and get what you deserve.

I am a Veteran and wanted to share my experience with this consulting group. While they did help…read moreincrease my disability rating from 30% to 90% (a $1,760 monthly increase), they charged me over $6,500 for their services. After two failed attempts by JD to reach 100%, I decided to leave and hire a lawyer instead. I went to Vet Law, which has excellent reviews, and within four months I reached 100% disability (a $1,589 monthly increase). Their fee was $1,012 -- far more reasonable, and the process felt professional and straightforward. Based on this comparison, I believe Veterans Benefits Consulting Group charges excessive fees and does not provide fair value for the cost. Although I did receive an increase, I do not feel their billing system is ethical or fair. I want other Veterans to be fully informed before committing, as there are better options available.

The Elks Lodge folks did a fantastic job of organizing this popular event, which turned out beautifully. The tables were gorgeously set and the finger foods & desserts were tasty. There were a variety of very nice items offered for raffle prizes & auction. The auction was very lively with several ladies outbidding each other. It was fun seeing the ladies wearing their hats and fascinators & looking rather elegant! We are all looking forward to next year! Thank you to the Elks for working so hard at executing this amazing event and making it so successful!

Such a wonderful event! We were honored to be served by the Men in Kilts. The event started at 11 am, we were late due to traffic. There was tea (although in packets, rather than loose leaf) it made it convenient because we did not have the luxury of knowing who we will be seated with & their choices or preference. It was lovely as it was served in beautiful tea cups provided by the volunteers at this Elks Lodge. Tea first after we bought tickets to place our raffle tickets at the front. Items on display were donated by various members to win as prices. A booklet of ticket cost $10 w/ 11 tickets available. Additionally, there are also items up for bidding, also donated by members: a few paintings which were hand painted by members/volunteers, wines, Bath & Body Works sets, etc. Last year, a hand carved wine rack auctioned for nearly $500. Our tea was served with finger sandwiches & scones. There were plenty of scones! Jams & lemon curd was served as well, cheesecakes etc. Drawing happened right after tea. I won a tissue box with Tropical painted flowers. My other friends won a set of coffee mugs & margarita mixes. Oh, almost forgot, my friend, Vuoch also bought us a bottle of champagne for the whole table- not too shabby! The creative tea hat contest was decided by the audience clapping & the judge decided to grant the top 3 as winners. I loved the lady's hat that had a garden theme with lady bugs adorning it. Bidding like auction style was exciting! A few bottles of Mondavi wine sold for $300, if I'm not mistaken. Some 2 popular sets had tea sets with fascinators, lace gloves & lace-y fancy fan. (Think Scarlet O' Hara era). This year, Men in Kilts sang to a "Drunken Scotsman" song for the guests (us). It was a wonderful event, just dressing up was so much fun because I am not one to wear these costumes--first of all, a dress, rare occasion. I loved this venue. The camaraderie between the Elk Lodge members shows how deeply rooted they are with each other & the community. The proceeds help the lodge help the community. Would love to be invited again. Plenty of parking, free. Tickets for tea. $20.

By the time you get through the lines and get all the games a $21.00 initial buy in came out to over 60 bucks. It wouldn't be hard to spend a hundred. Concessions were pretty good and reasonably priced, the snack table had lots of candy, packaged goodies, can soda, coffee & bottled water. A plus and 5 stars for this amenity service and prices. From the kitchen they have tacos Nachos sandwiches and loaded fries and tots all at the 10.00 price plus 1 dollar for tax- cash and carry. You order get a table number and the food arrives in a few moments The BLT came on a bun and with onions plus an extra buck to sub onion rings - OK was the report I got on that. I ordered the Nachos and was expecting them to arrive in an aluminum pan I saw used for almost ever order. Mine came to me in a small paper boat that was scorched on the bottom and looked sad and dreary. Looks can be deceiving because these nachos just missed the mark of perfection, although any cheese was barely visible the other toppings shined bright, especially the seared peppers. With Nachos I would have never guessed less is more but these sure did taste great. Security in the hall and parking lot was great and Elks pride was nice to see and enjoy.
