Our instructor was charismatic and made the experience lively and enjoyable, even though it was a somewhat tough painting (especially for those of us who aren't naturally gifted in the painting department). My husband and I split a bottle of bubbles and spent two hours painting away. Good music was playing in the background, everyone was enjoying themselves, and the small class size was nice because we could interact with others and the instructor without feeling like there was too much going on. My boyfriend and I went here for a second time and I can vouch that this place is so fun and so worth it. If you have never been to one of these places, they basically set up a little station for you to paint and guide you into painting the selected artwork for the class. There's a bar that you can purchase drinks/snacks on. The drinks give you that extra confidence boost for your painting ;) Nick was our teacher both of the times we have gone. He's great! We were invited to a couple's painting event hosted for wounded veterans and although my husband wasn't sure how to feel about going to a painting class, we both ended up really enjoying ourselves! I was the worlds biggest skeptic when my friends suggested this venue. I have never painted before and didn't think I would enjoy it. Well I was so wrong! My husband brought me here on a date night. I've never painted period, let alone in front of others or had a specific piece I was trying to achieve. This place is really cute inside and everyone that works here is very sweet and helpful. They have everything set up for you when you sit down and then they clean up when you're done, it's awesome! We painted a cute snowman and I felt like a rockstar when mine turned out better than I expected. So, what does anyone do immediately after a root canal? Go to a paint night, of course! Ok, ok, probably not, but that's what the hubs and I did after my root canal last night. We were able to attend the preview night of this new business. I've been to plenty of paint nights in the past, at a few different businesses, so I thought I already knew what to expect...I was wrong! Upon first entering, everything looked about how you'd expect any of these businesses to look: a large room with rows of painting stations. On closer inspection though, this place is vastly different from your typical paint-and-drink place. They have cubbies to put your stuff into which means less clutter at your painting station, there's a wine and beer bar, there's a private party room for your special event, and the decor overall is inviting and chic. Because this was a preview night party, they also had catering which was delicious and lovely and there was free-flowing wine also for the event. So what makes this unlike other paint-and-drink places? Well, let me start: firstly, they are full-service. What does that mean? When you arrive, your station is ready, you don't have to get anything, and you don't have to clean up after yourself! I've never been to another paint night where you don't get your stuff and clean after, this was some nice pampering. Secondly, it is not BYOB. I thought I'd be bummed about that at first, but it was really nice to be waited on and served your drinks. It felt a bit more like a night out. For me, paying for my wine there would be negligible but I can see how some may not love that. Thirdly, besides the artist who is teaching, there are other artists walking around to help out, tidy-up, and generally make you feel taken care of. This was a first for me, loved it! Fourthly, if that's a word, they offer a rewards program, after so many events, you earn a free one! I'm all about free stuff! Fifthly, this may sound silly, but, the stools were super comfy! Any other paint night I've been to has the typical stools that feel like they may fall apart at any moment, these were way better. I think you get the idea, this place is not like your typical paint night place. We had a blast, painted a painting I probably would never have chosen myself but ended up loving, enjoyed chatting with other guests and the awesome artists. I thought I knew it all, seen it all, and done it all when it comes to paint-night places but this was a wonderful surprise, the hubs and I will definitely be back! read more
