He explained what he would do, completed the job, explained what he did, collected the payment and was on his way. Came in a white truck with the name of the company discreetly posted. When the technician arrived, I showed him the holes, runways, and plant damage, but he focused on moles and told me he did not think I had voles. I repeatedly explained that voles were the reason I had called. He ultimately told me the treatment he was providing would "take care of both moles AND voles," so I agreed to proceed. This was assured to me numerous times. Afterward, the paperwork described a "Mole Yard Treatment," stated that no vole activity was observed, and showed that the service was a target mole treatment plus a granular animal repellent. I had already tried repellents myself; I hired a pest-control company because I wanted the actual vole problem treated. A repellent is not equivalent to infestation treatment. The apparent lack of knowledge about voles and the inability to properly identify the problem I had specifically hired them to address was concerning to me. Given that pest identification is such a basic part of effective treatment, that significantly undermined my confidence in the service. When I contacted the company about the mismatch, I expected them to apologize for the confusion and perform the service I was originally told I was paying for. Instead, they defended what had been done and tried to manipulate the situation, refusing any accountability. At different points they relied on the fact that the granular product could deter voles, while also explaining that their targeted vole protocol had not been performed because the technician said he did not identify active vole holes. That was exactly the problem: I had hired them for voles, repeatedly told the technician about the voles during the visit, and was assured the treatment would address them. The issue eventually resulted in a credit-card dispute that was resolved in my favor. The company still maintains that I owe the balance and continues sending automated invoices even after I asked them in writing to stop.

We just had our introductory treatment on Monday, May 21. Kevin Brown was our service guy and he…read morewas AWESOME. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do and then he did it. He reported back that he found 8 (!!!!!) wasp nests around our property and a dead mouse and we discussed pest control services for our little rodent friends. We were really pleased with him. Very friendly and polite, not overbearing. So why the three stars? The sales guy who visited our house to get us to schedule service was very grating - probably just an age factor. He was what you think of when you think of a typical door-to-door sales guy. Our municipal police drove by while he was talking to us (apparently, someone in our neighborhood called on him for soliciting; he had the required permits though) and the kid was bragging with to us about how he's so cool with our officers and was trying to show us that he took pictures with the officers from when he's been called on before. It was pretty immature and a waste of our time. Then, he, for whatever reason, could just NOT get my husband's very normal name spelled correctly in the email address so we could receive the documents; I think hubs spelled his name 4 times for the kid. Also, the time he rang was borderline inappropriate for us. We have a 1 year old and he was really cutting it close to her bed time. And, according to him, he still needed 4 more households to sign up in order to meet his quota (yes, he told us that too, and bragged that 4 more should be easy....at 7:30 in the evening....when families are settling down for family time and bed time). The kid's lucky we were already considering pest control services and that we like a good deal. Anyhow. The service guy was great. And if the results are good and continue to be good, we'll keep it up - with the hopes that we never have to deal with a sales guy again.

Because of that my inside never got done. They came out 3 times in the rain making the chemicals clump up and I was on the phone with them throughout the time I was a customer for over 5 hours. They transferred me multiple times every time I called. They know I have animals when all the chemicals clumped up and we're supposed to remove those and never did. They have repeatedly been smart asses on the phone and I have really really kept my composure for what they have put me through. There are so many other companies that are better please look into them. This company is a joke the way its run.

I always received an email to schedule, but I didn't always notice that it was from them because there was no business name displayed. After some time, I called to get the service scheduled again. I took the day off work so I could be here on the scheduled day, and they showed up in the window that was promised. Their service vehicle was a mess on the outside, with paint peeling all over the front etc. It's just something worth mentioning because it makes them look a little less professional. I went over the grounds to describe the issues that I am having. I really needed to get things taken care of and was happy that they were here to perform the spraying. They were here for about 30 min. or less before I was told that they would have to come back some other time since their sprayer was not working. That was disappointing since I needed service sooner rather than later. Great, now I have to get back on a schedule and back in line and wait. I have no idea what was treated before the sprayer broke, or if anything was treated at all. This kind of information would have been nice. I received a VM from the office to reschedule - No apologies for the inconvenience of my taking off work for this appointment or anything. Just a "call us back to reschedule" type of thing. The last thing I need is to take off work again with the potential of the job not being able to be completed. I am going to go with another local provider and hope for the best.

The situation: squirrels got into my elderly mother's house through the bathroom exhaust vent. She could hear them running through the walls. I was out of town for medical reasons, so my wife called Rottler and asked for help getting the squirrels out and the hole sealed. My family scheduled their day around being available at the time of the their scheduled appointment, but then Rottler arrived hours earlier. They notified them right before they showed up, when they weren't home. If you're going to arrive early, be considerate and check-in that change works for the client. His solution was a plastic cover over the vent opening. My mother, who is sharp, asked the obvious question: how do the squirrels get out? His answer: they'll chew through the plastic. Imagine handing a package to the shipping counter, paying for it, and the clerk assures you it will never reach its destination. That was the transaction. He installed a fix he told us would fail, and it came with a $175 invoice. Any company that handles squirrels should know the standard approach: a one-way exclusion door over the entry point so the animals leave and can't return, then a permanent seal once they're out. Rottler didn't offer it, didn't mention it, and left an 80-something woman with squirrels in her walls and a piece of plastic on her house. 1.0 Rottler, refund the $175. Everyone else, don't call Rottler for wildlife. Call a company that answers "how do they get out" with something other than "they won't."
