Made an appointment for the 1st time with VIP a week in advance for my 2 Shihpoos with Kobe thru texting. He never answers his phone. The day I went his outside sign on the building was gone and his business was gone. I looked thru the window and the inside was filled with debris. Permit posted on door for remodeling. This company was not VIP and not Kobe's name. He never called or sent any kind of message to me! Tried calling a number of times and texted. Received no responses. If it walks, crawls or slithers, this is the place to take your pet for excellent care. Kobie even has a special day called "Caturday" (Saturday) where he does nothing but cats for all those cats who don't get along with dogs. My pet is always happy to go to the groomers. My little dogs are my Cling-ons....especially my Teddy Bear. Kobie called him to come when he walked back towards me and he LISTENED! My jaw dropped! Kobie has a way with my dogs and they come home happy...not anxious like they had the worst day possible. Plus Kobie is a master groomer. No one here in Colorado has groomed them better! He may not be big on phone calls or say much in his texts, but I feel my little dogs are treated like one of his own. He wouldn't hurt them like the last groomer did: razor burn on the inside of her thigh and groin area.....and then didn't tell the truth about the incident! read more

A very important issue! I went to pick up my dogs and they seemed alright until I saw one of my dog's right eye and seemed as if it was bloodshot on one side as if he had been cut by the hair trimmer they had failed to tell me about this among pick up. It was very disheartening to see my dog like this because I do not know what long term effects this could have on his vision. This is very scary to me and I consider this animal cruelty. read more

This company is so unprofessional that it's almost comical. They don't answer their phone, and their voice mail confirm this (while also noting that they don't listen to their voice mails). Only way to talk to them is by text, and they responded to me with very short, vague messages that were incredibly confusing. For example I asked about scheduling and all they said was, "What do you have???" Just like that. I said what do you mean what do I have? Availability, animal, etc. They said "yes what kind of pet ". Ok, I told them my dog's weight and breed and what I needed (glands and nails). They just never responded again after that. Lmfao... Ok. read more

We brought our dog here for her first grooming based on recommendations from our neighbors. Her appointment was at 12:00 on a Saturday. Around 4:30 we had not heard from anyone to pick her up so we called and they said she was not done yet and that we could pick her up in about 30 minutes. 5 hours and $90 later she was finally ready to go. She came out of the back looking very scared and nervous, not like herself at all and the cut was okay, not great. When we got home we noticed there was a chunk taken out of her nose! I don't know if it was from clippers or scissors but now I know why she was so scared when we picked her up. The front of the salon that you can actually see is filthy with dog hair and dust everywhere. You can only pay with cash or check which is odd. Because of the amount of time she had to wait in a kennel to be groomed, the price was much higher than anticipated and because she was injured by the groomer we will not be taking her back to VIP. read more

Love Kobie the owner. It's obvious he loves animals as they have a couple cat mascots. Our appointment was for 4pm and weren't helped until 4:30 which was a little frustrating. They don't accept credit cards which is strange in this cashless world. But besides those issuess he did a GREAT job on our cat. I will visit again based on the quality of work. read more

I love taking my dogs to VIP. I was reading the reviews this grooming salon has, and I just don't agree. YES sometimes it is hard getting in communication with Kobe, but I truly believe it's worth waiting or double texting to get my puppers in. They always come out looking great! & I love that Kobe knows who they are, you can tell he treats all animals with respect and care. He may not have the best communication skills with people but he does for sure with animals. So as long as my dogs are getting treated good, I really don't care if our texts are just once sentence to one word long. Him: "This Friday at 1pm" Me:"okay cool thanks!" That's all I really need to be honest. I will always recommend people to take their dogs with Kobe because it really is worth it. read more

Kobe is awesome! I call him the Cat whisperer, because he does specialty Dragon cut on our cat Khalessi, ( Mother of Dragons.) Several groomers terrorified her and said she was too hard to groom. Thank goodness we met Kobe. I offered to tranqulize her but Kobe did not want us to give her anything, he said let me try to work with her first. He completed her grooming and she was calm and looked great. As for the negative comments about it being dirty- it is a pet grooming salon, and during business hours there is hair from animlas, but it is cleaned everyday. You might also be reminded, that when groomers, (like hairstylists, or anyone else who runs on a schedule) has clients that show up late, it messes up his schedule for everyone. If you care about your dogs this is the place for you! No one else will ever touch my fur babies ever again. I think of my dogs as family and I will only trust VIP with them ever again! You can tell that they are animal people at VIP and they handle my babies with care and all the others. If your dog behaves themselves he even lets them run free! I love the way my Bella looks after she's been there for a trim and Ginger gets her nails cut. Prices are much better than anywhere too. This is hands down the best place to go! read more

I have taken my Boston Terrier to Kobie at VIP Salon twice now and she always looks great! Granted she has short hair, but they bathe her, trim and file her nails and do the anal expression all for a reasonable price! Super nice staff that are great with my fur baby. Before writing a review, I read through a few who I knew had some merit. Kolby has always been awesome with our fur babies. He has taken longer sometimes because he hates to say no, and takes last minute drop-ins and regulars. He does walk them without leashes. I've seen him do it with our dog. The dogs know, he's Alfa and they listen to him! If you're wanting the corporate groomer you shouldn't chose him. He's been doing his thing, his way and it's worked out with his loyal customers. read more

This is my preferred, go to neighborhood groomer. I appreciate Kobe's friendly demeanor. After the first couple of visits, he knows your pet and I feel like gets to know you, your preferences, etc. There have been times when I just look at my dog and I'm like, "Yuck-- you need a bath and haircut!" and I haven't pre-planned or made an appointment. For this reason, I feel like he tries to be very accommodating when he can, and if he can't-- I feel like a genuine effort is made to get you in quickly. They don't accept debit cards, so be prepared to pay with cash or check. read more

Second try at VIP and won't be back. 5 hours for a grooming and my dog gulped water when she got home. Seems they over book and charge more than they should for what you get. When I got my dog home two of her paws were bleeding. I understand this can happen but nothing was said to me when picking up that her paws had been clipped. They bled for over an hour so it wasn't a little clip that they didn't notice. read more

I took my pug here as a recommendation from my vet, Smoky Hill Vet Clinic, as I couldn't get in there for over 3 weeks. They were accommodating with a same day appointment, but that is the only positive thing I have to say about VIP. I offered vaccine records upon arrival, which they declined they needed. I proceeded to tell the associate that my pug was 12 years old, with arthritis and they need to avoid his spine due to pain and sensitivity. He is not "nearing the end" by any means, and is still very rambunctious, however, he still needs special care. This should be COMMON SENSE. She didn't acknowledge or reassure me whatsoever that they would treat him as the "senior" he is. An hour and a half later I picked him up and he was visibly disoriented and appeared scared. It could have been because it was the first time there, but when we walked out he started limping and holding his back leg in the air. I brought him home and he fell immediately in the house and was too afraid to attempt the stairs. I called my vet clinic to make them aware that they should never refer anyone to VIP and that my dog had been injured. They offered to provide pain meds and I still may have to take him in tomorrow to be seen. Also, it's a "cash only" place, which they neglected to tell me. This is the first review I've written on Yelp. I think it's important people know the truth. I did not heed the previous poor reviews and trusted my vet's referral. Kobie has groomed Reagan and Penny for years. They do a wonderful job and my dogs are always happy and beautiful when I pick them up! Reagan can be nervous but she has never had any problems at this salon. Reagan is 15 1/2 and in declining health. Today Penny went in to be groomed and he asked if we could bring Reagan in to see him and just say hello. She was happy to see her friends at VIP. He asked if I would allow him to help clean her up? Because of her declining health and bad back she hasn't been groomed in awhile. Kobie is so kind and has made a special appointment for Reagan so she can be treated very gently and with extra care to help make her feel better. I can't say enough about this place and the kindness they have for animals. The kindness we received today was very much appreciated and with Reagan's end nearing this meant more than anything. read more

I would NOT recommend this place at all. If we could give them 0 stars we would! We've given them 3 try's and the last one was our last! First, it takes them well over 3 plus hours to groom and bathe a small dog. Our 1st 2 visits our dog looked ok-good. Our last visit he came back looking like a mess, like he wasn't even touched with scissors. The customer service is awful. The owner claimed he squeezed us in, as he claims I asked to be put in right away, which is false. I simply asked what he had for openings. He responded a day later with the next day availability. So I took it. At drop off the girl at the counter asked what I wanted done. I said just do what you've done the last 2x, she rudely said I don't know what that is? I said don't you keep records and notes of what you did in the past? Again I got a snotty look and a huh NO! To me this was odd as past groomers always kept notes about my dog and what we liked. After my dog being there for 3 1/2 almost 4 hours I had my husband swing by to pick up our dog, even though we never got a call saying he was done. I thought he clearly had to be done by now as when I dropped off my dog the lady told me a couple of hours. When my husband showed up the owner got snippy with him claiming our dog was a complete mess and needed extra time. This would be understandable if he would of came out looking like he was actually groomed and cleaned. But he did not. His body was slightly shaved and his head looked like a lions head (not even touched) then they charged over $65 for a very crappy job. If your going to charge that kind of money for a 12 pound dog he better come out looking like a VIP....Not a homeless pet! I wish I would of taken a picture to post but we were so mad we just didn't think of it. Save your money and your time and go elsewhere this place is definitely not worth it, in my opinion. read more

We had a very bad experience with Kobie. I took our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to him last weekend for a bath, trim and nail trim. The only specifics I gave him was about trimming her nails, and to trim the hair on her legs close as we didn't want any feathering. When I arrived to pick her up I didn't recognize her. When they said it was in fact my dog I began crying. Kobie had shaved her like a sheep. He told me, "You said you didn't want any feathering." I told him I had said on her legs. I have never been to this business before so I expected to hang around for 15 mins or so, but he only gave me about 2 minutes of his time when I dropped her off and I didn't feel like he tried to get to know her or me. I actually felt bad about leaving my dog with a stranger who didn't even extend a hand to pet her or say hi to her. He charged me $45, my dog weighs about 18 lbs. and I don't think he bathed her, he just shaved her. You would think when a customer is so upset they're crying that he would offer to cut the fee in half, but no. Very unprofessional and uncaring. read more
