A fabulous Date venue that is romantic, quiet and intimate. Ask for the prix fixe Menu, if available. A bite (or 2) of the POP ROCK BAR is a sign of connection that you hear popping in your head and/or ears. It's REAL, not your imagination. Xoxo DRINKING CHOCOLATE is sold here per cup or a bag to be enjoyed at home with heavy cream and whole milk. When your heart skips a beat, it's... L-O-V-E! ;)

While this is not the best chocolate I've had in the Chicagoland area (Piron is king), it is by far the most unique and beautiful. Each piece that I selected had complex and interesting flavors, along with gorgeous designs, that I doubt I'd find anywhere else. The caramel used in the turtles was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be returning to purchase more of those as gifts (The packaging is lovely as well)!

It's been about a month since my daughter and I came here. We loved the chocolates. I wish that the chocolates in the case could be bought individually online because there are some that we loved that we wish we had often. We wish we would have thought to try the ice cream sandwiches. This place was really neat. We watch their Facebook page to see the awesome chocolates that they come up with. They have me wishing I was a chocolatier instead of a nurse. We live 6 hours away and I wish they had this quality of chocolate where I live. I don't know when or if I'll be in Chicago again but if I am I will definitely be back. However, I will be ordering some of our favorites online soon.

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of visiting the newly established Veruca Chocolates at the corner of Fullerton and Western for a little Valetine's Day Open House. The owner, Heather Johnston, was on hand to show us her array of handmade turtles, sea salt caramels, and dark chocolate gelt (for grownups!). If I had to choose my favorite, it would definitely be the turtles. Heather explained how she loves to bring a lot of flavor to the traditional turtle so she leaves the caramel on the heat right to the peak of flavor and roasts the nuts until they're just about to burn. You can taste the care that she puts into these yummy treats. The sea salt caramels are awesomely rich (is there any better flavor combo than caramel and chocolate?) The packaging that Heather has carefully chosen is artwork in itself, perfect for when you want to give your Valentine (or yourself, in my case) that extra special touch. The sexy bold pink and black combination make these chocolates so exciting to open. Plus the turtles are brushed with an iridescent rainbow of color and the sea salt caramels have a pouty pair of lips to remind you of what Valentine's Day is all about. Veruca Chocolates are available for purchase in store and online. The storefront also shares a kitchen with Dough Dough Bird baking company, from which I bought a couple of bags of gingerbread heart cookies, and Defloured, a gluten free bakery whose cheeky name I absolutely love.

Really cute chocolate shop! They had samples out so I got to try the chocolate with pop rocks. Delicious! I ended up buying the dark chocolate with raspberries and glitter. Next time, I'm going to try their truffles and sea salt.

The chocolate itself is real tasty stuff. They are as delicious on the outside as they are on the inside, with colors and textures used in different chocolate creations. I was a bit underwhelmed by their chocolate chip cookie although.... they got the soft, crispy and chewy part down but I feel like It lacked the sweetness I was expecting

    Nice options

We were just walking by and saw a chocolate sign so had to stop by, and while inside the lady who was at the front took the time and attention to answer questions. She further explained what the chocolates had in them. She also said that all have dark chocolate so that is a plus plus. She pointed out and explained further than I needed to but that to me was a great touch. Will definitely come back to get more chocolate.

My fav so far is the macaroon and sour cherry. Did not like the strawberry cheesecake as a candy though. I hear, they had 5 stores in New York which shut dpwn sometime during covid, and these two stores in Chicago opened about a year ago. They are really soft. Keeping them out at room temperature kind of melted them so I put them in the fridge. texas heat is too much for their sensitive fruity nature ;) There's a little card which tells exactly which chocolate is what flavor . Packing is really cool. Goes great as a gift.

Everything is covered in soft velour and velvet and it's just beautiful! There's a great mural on the wall with different cute sayings painted on the leaves. I'll be sharing pictures of those so make sure you take a look! It's a little pricey for your average person but the quality of the chocolate which is from France and Germany makes it worth it! Their coffees come with a lot of options, some with very unique flavor combinations. I tried the rosemary caramel iced latte and I loved it! Which I was surprised by because I'm not usually a rosemary fan. They have a great variety of homemade marshmallows which I will also show you in the pictures, I can't resist a good marshmallow! So I had to try the brown butter marshmallows to bring home with me and oh my goodness! But the real winner for me was Homemade caramels! I would go back just for those! Especially the bacon one ! If you go there and try absolutely nothing else , get yourself a couple of those. you can thank me later ! The staff is super friendly and helpful! I also love that you can see back into the Candy Kitchen! So you know that all the Truffles and caramels and everything is prepared in-house and are super fresh and extra delicious! If you're ever near one of their many locations I encourage you to stop in! The coffee price point is actually very affordable, the truffle and marshmallow prices are truthfully probably comparable with like Godiva or Fannie May but they are made with much higher quality ingredients. Not someplace I would visit everyday, but definitely great for a special occasion! This would be a great business to visit for some sweet holiday treats! They have multiple shops!
