I came across Sweet Shot Cookies on a cookie reviewer's Instagram, and what appealed to me were the stuffed cookies. I found my way to Sweet Shot Cookies' website and decided to get the OG 6 Pack Triple, which included double chocolate chip, s'mores, chocolate peanut butter + nutella, cinnamon sugar, PB&J, and funfetti. Not going to lie, the cookies I ordered were overall misses for me. As soon as the delivery arrived I had the s'mores and cinnamon sugar cookie straight out of the box. I did appreciate the packaging. The cookies were sealed securely, and none of them were broken. They tasted good, but I thought they were average at best. I was disappointed by how dense and hard they were, and the filling had seeped out of the s'mores. It was such a mess. I gave Sweet Shot Cookies the benefit of the doubt though. I assumed this happened during transit, plus it probably didn't help that it has been in the late 90s where I'm from in California. I really loved the stuffed cookies concept, and I had no doubt that Sweet Shot Cookies were better in-person when they're fresh. After my initial response, Hallie (the founder) reached out to me and offered to rectify my experience by reimbursing me AND sending me a fresh batch. I was really surprised by such kindness. I was so humbled that she went out of her way to do that, but most importantly I appreciated that she asked me questions to troubleshoot how to prevent similar issues from happening in the future. Not only was she so communicative and transparent, I felt that she was really trying to understand the situation rather than slap a band-aid on it. This spoke volumes to me of excellence in customer service. I was given the second chance to try out Sweet Shot Cookies, and I got to say that the first batch was a fluke, y'all. Sweet Shot Cookies are definitely the real deal! I sampled several of the cookies as soon as the package arrived in order to try them while fresh as possible. The s'mores cookie had redeemed itself! It was in perfect condition. The marshmallow filling was intact, and the cookie itself was ooey and gooey. I absolutely loved it, and I could easily put it in my top 5 of best s'mores cookies. Let me preface in saying that I don't particularly care much for funfetti/ sugar cookie with sprinkles. With that said, I didn't bother eating the butter sprinkle funfetti from the first order. I realized, however, that I did myself a disservice by not trying it. The butter sprinkle funfetti was actually my most favorite cookie of them all. It was so soft and buttery, and the iced filling was literally and figuratively icing on the cake. I felt like it was my birthday again. I also had the pleasure of trying the chocolate PB nutella, cinnamon cookie butter, sugar PB&J and triple chocolate. These cookies were equally as fantastic. They all tasted fresh, had soft and chewy textures, and maintained the integrity of their fillings. I can't wait to check out Sweet Shot Cookies next time I'm Chicago. Until then, I'll be looking forward to my next online order!

I've been eating these cookies for three days now because of how huge they are and the softness and flavor has held up perfectly despite me not storing them any special way! The chocolate chunk was my favorite! Adding a proper amount of salt to baked goods is often not utilized enough, but you could actually taste the salt in these cookies and it cut through the richness to add more depth! The sugar cookie was my second favorite, I feel like having a good simple cookie tells a lot about how solid the base dough is. If you love fresh soft cookies, I would keep walking past Insomniac 5 minutes away and come here instead!

What was even more disappointing was how my concern was handled. I called the store to report the issue, expecting that they might at least want to understand what happened or inspect the cake. Instead, I was simply told that they could not do anything. I even offered to bring the cake back to the store so they could check it themselves. Only one slice had been cut, so there was still plenty of the cake available for them to inspect. As a long-time customer, I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable. I simply expected someone to take the complaint seriously, look at the product, and try to understand why the cake was so dry and seemingly not fresh. I understand that occasionally a product may not meet expectations, but customer service is especially important when a customer takes the time to report a genuine quality issue. Unfortunately, the response I received left me very disappointed. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and review both the quality-control process for cakes and how product complaints are handled.
